Losing a Tooth at Disney

My son lost his first tooth at Disney while we were having breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Our server made a huge deal of it, bringing him a special placemat, a special cupcake and announcing it to our section of the restaurant and leading them in applause. Minnie came over and gave him a big hug and fussed over him. It was really special for him.

Fast forward to the following year when his twin sister had a loose tooth. The kid refused to lose it until our Disney trip because she wanted the same special treatment. I kept trying to downplay it because who knows if that kind of magic will strike twice.

She and her Dad were fooling around one night on our trip and he popped the tooth right out. It had only been hanging on by a thread (TMI). I had brought a little Figment stuffed animal to put under her pillow, along with a little money and she was happy that the tooth fairy came, but of course, it wasn't like what happened to her twin.

The next morning we went to visit Tink and friends. When my daughter walked up to the yellow one whose name escapes me right now. She saw the gap in my daughters smile and exclaimed "The tooth fairy told me you would be coming today!" That made my dd smile even bigger. It was just another little magical moment that Disney does so well.

I lost a tooth a dl in 1989. :)
Tink brought me a Disney dollar and wrote a special note on the dollar. One of my best childhood memories! That trip was so fun!

On our first trip to DL, after about 100 trips to WDW, my son unexpectedly lost a tooth. I was totally unprepared and ran down to the gift shop. Jack Sparrow had just debuted and they had Disney dollars with him on it so the TF delivered 5 Disney dollars. My son thought it was amazing that the TF would travel from FL to CA just to take care of his tooth!pixiedust:pixiedust:

My DS(5) has his first loose tooth and it is close to coming out as well. We go to WDW in 3 weeks and I would have never thought to use it as motivation. He refuses to wiggle it and this thread has me thinking that maybe we can find a way to convince him to lose it at Disney! :goodvibes

My son lost his first tooth at Sci-Fi Diner. He got ten Disney dollars and a celebration button and a Disney Racer car under his pillow. I told him Tink and the tooth fairy come together at Disney and that they made a big deal because it was his first tooth. I made sure to let him know the tooth fairy won't do that much for his other teeth!

is it me or does that sound gross?

Think that's gross? I have a little ornament (like a Christmas one), that has my baby teeth in them. Don't know how I got that idea... ;) Oh well. At least I know where they are!

My Ds was on the verge of losing his first tooth on our trip a few years ago. I saw the CM who was delivering birthday cards to the rooms and told her about it. I asked if she could deliver a Tinkerbelle card to the room for us, just in case. That evening we had a card addressed to Thomas saying Congratulations from Buzz and Woody. He didn't lose it on the trip, but we still used it and put 2 Disney dollars in it too. He still has the card!

My then daughter lost a tooth at MK. We were sitting on one of the planters outside MK very late at night after wishes, waiting for the crowds to die. The CM heard us talking about molecules (don 't ask) ask joined our conversation. She asked my then 6 1/2 Y/O about her day and she told her she lost a tooth, and was worried the tooth fairy would not show as we were on vacation. The CM took my wife away and gave her a bag of "Pixie Dust" and a special CM only Tinkerbell pin. She said to tell our daughter that Tink told the tooth fairy about the tooth. We were staying off property.we sprinkled the dust across the condo leading to the Tink pin. One of my daughters favorite memories.

I lost a tooth in Spoodles (yes, you can see it was quite a while ago, since Spoodles is now the Cat Cora restaurant) when I was little. My mom kept getting mad at me because I was wiggling my tooth at the table. I went to the bathroom to keep wiggling because I couldn't even eat with it in my mouth. When she came to check on me, it fell out. After a few minutes, I got to eat and I was happy. :rotfl2: I don't remember how much money I got or anything, just that it hurt and I couldn't have my dinner because of it. The only thing I was upset about with it was that I had (I still have it actually) this purple plush fish with a pink pocket in the side (my "buddy" made it for me...my school did the "buddy program" where an 7th grade student was assigned to a kindergarten student and stayed with them till the older student graduated and the kindergartener was done with first grade.) and it was at home in my room. I kinda remember my mom going to the front desk where ever we were staying and getting a little plastic tooth holder to put under my pillow. I think I got a couple of Disney Dollars for it.

Didn't have time to read responses but here is what we did! DS lost his tooth while standing in line for Haunted Mansion. So instead of the tooth fairy bringing $$ and leaving glitter from her wings...... she stopped under the main rail station at the entrance to MK and picked up a little bag of Mickey confetti (free when I told them my story)....then she secretly bought a pin with my son's initial on it. Both were left on his nightstand that night. A very Disney spin on the traditional. :)

I lost one of my front teeth in an ice cream bar in front of the Mexico pavilion! I was already missing the other one from before the trip. I have a picture of my dad holding a proud little me up, grinning from ear to ear with no teeth! My parents made me put the tooth under my pillow, and in the morning I awoke to some money courtesy of Tinkerbell.
