Lose your PIN if you make changes after deadline?

I have a PIN code that has a booking deadline of 12/31. Say I book a 9 night stay in May (during dates that qualify for the PIN) next week. Now, say it is March and I decide that I need to change this reservation. Do I lose the PIN discount? Or does it depend on what I change?

I believe that I have taken nights away from a reservation after the deadline with no penalty. And I even think that I have moved the dates before to a new window which was within the window. But, in this case, I may want to remove days mid-trip. I know that if I do this, it becomes, in Disney's eyes, two separate reservations. If I originally book Saturday to Saturday, but then want to take out Monday and Tuesday night, Disney will say I need one reservation for Saturday to Monday, and one from Wednesday to Saturday. But if I do this, I suspect I lose the discount on at least one of these reservations, right? Since in their system I would be modifying the first reservation and booking a second "new" reservation. Is there any way around this? (Other than booking two reservations to start with).

Some have been able to keep the same code and some have been denied. I would bet you would be denied, since the code does state that it is only VALID at the time of booking and for as long as no changes have been made. Why not use the discount for both stays. I am not certain, but I am sure that you can use it multiple times

If you remove dates "in the middle" you are correct - you will lose your PIN on the second half of the reservation. What you're doing is removing the last days of your PIN reservation, and making a new, second reservation. That second reservation can't be booked with an expired PIN.

You can, however, change the reservation itself by changing the resort, room type, etc. depending on availability. And if you book a package with a PIN, but downgrade it by removing days or tickets or whatever after the 45 day mark, you may get charged a change fee.

Thanks all. I actually already changed the reservation to three separate yet linked reservations, two booked with the PIN (you can't use a PIN with Premium Plan, but I suspected that to be the case. What I did learn is that you can utilize a PIN code for the room portion and upgrade all the way to Deluxe Dining without having to pay rack for the room). Since I already have three reservations, any changes at this point won't require new reservations, so I solved my own problem. But thanks for the great answers. I suspected as much, so I just avoided the whole potential problem and locked in my rate while I still could.
