LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Since January I have lost 15 of my 25 pounds!
I made R2 of the Disney Parks Moms Panel search but am not moving on to R3...
So I'm going to set a goal to lose 5 pounds more by New Years. (Yes, during the holidays.)

Who wants to join me?

My challenge this week is to log my food again and by extension, return to drinking more water.

If you want to join in, let me know!

Yes I am trying to lose during the holidays as well which is hard. I am down 17 lbs so far and have another 21 to go. I would love to lose at least 6 pounds by the holidays and then the other 15 by May. I have been logging my food since Sep 12, 2013 and lost 17lbs so far. Congrats on you weight lose.

I would love to lose 16 more pounds before sailing on January 30th 2014. (my first Disney cruise.) After that, I will have 24 more to get to my goal weight.

I have lost 8 lbs since seriously restarting Weight Watchers at work on October 17th.

It's going to be a challenge losing during the holiday, but I am determined to make my goal.

Leaving March 9th, I really need to lose about 30lbs. Tired of being the pic taker and wanting to jump in a few myself on vacation.

Ok I need some support everyone!

After 2 kids, whom I love dearly, I'm sitting at an uncomfortable 255lbs. I'm 24 years old and 5'9. I don't want to be super skinny because I like the idea of curves so I'm thinking 160 would be a great size for me! As long as I'm healthy of course!

Anyways phase 1 I want done by our cruise date and that isn't until Sept 11! Do you think 60lbs in 9 months is too much to attempt? It's about 6 lbs per month!

Any help with what you have done to lose it would be greatly appreciated!

The 3rd time is the charm.

I tried on my own for my first cruise and my second but even with a year in advance for each, the most I could lose was about 20lbs. No will power here!

So 3 months after my second cruise, I hit my highest - 250lbs. That was it, I said, "No more!" I joined Weight Watchers in July and haven't looked back. I had 110 lbs to lose to my goal. I have lost 42lbs so far.

We have signed up for our next cruise, March 2015. That's 14 months away. I'm not saying I will make my goal in that time, but even close to it is good. I need encouragement and people to push me when I feel like giving up. Personally, my brain can't even imagine being at goal. I have been overweight for both cruises and I can tell you it affected my time. I want to be in my vacation photos.

So that's my story. Thanks.

This is an amazing thread! Here I'm thinking I'm the only person out here who needs to lose some weight before our 3 night Dream on 8/28. After 3 kids I am at my heaviest - 250 - I'm only 5' tall so for me this is a lot of extra weight. Over the past several years I've been up & down and tried numerous diets. Pre babies weight watchers worked the best. After the first - Curves did ok - then I got bored. Then last year I tried medifast and dropped 25 pounds in 3 months (IT WAS WONDERFUL!) However, that's how baby #3 came into the picture:rotfl2: I don't regret anything I've done and all 3 of my babies are truly little miracle blessings but this momma is tired of all this extra weight. Here's the issue I am having surrgery in 2 weeks on my foot which will keep me off my feet for upwards of a month - does anyone have any suggestions/words of wisdom of things they've tried that have worked for them! I was thinking starting weight watchers and possibly getting a stationary bike. My issue is will power. Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone ever tried the Spark People diet? It's free and very helpful to get you on the right track for losing weight. I just started following this 3 days ago. Hope it works.

You can do it! I'm about to go on a cruise...I've come to terms I'll be fat this time...I'm going to try and be good on the cruise and hopefully book another and start a diet plan. I totally understand when you said...I want to be in my vacation photos. We might get married on the Dream...so I def want to look good for those pics!!! Good luck to you!!! You can do it!!!:wizard:

I would like to join this thread because I too want to lose weight before my cruise in 18 1/2 weeks. I am aiming big for 40lbs but since I have alot to lose it should be do able. I want to continue after since we have another trip in the fall. It isn't a cruise but still a big vacation I want to look and feel good for. I started a week ago and my first weigh in is tomorrow.

:hourglass

Time is ticking for me :)

Hi everyone!!! I would love to get in on this!! I am cruising in JAN 2015.. so I have awhile. I just had a baby (well.. not JUST) this past April.. my 4th little. Anyway... ready to get back on the wagon.. and lose some of the pounds. Started my diet last week

I started dieting in August of 2013 in preparation for our Oct 10, 2013 on the Dream and I haven't stopped! I've lost 55 lbs overall so far and I am hoping to lost another 25-30 before our October 6 Double Dip on the Wonder!

I just started a weight program. I am trying the Super Shred Diet by Dr Ian Smith. It says you could lose at least 20lbs in 4 weeks. We will see. I will let you guys know. We cruise in Jun 2014 to Alaska.

Hello!
May I join? A bit late, but we are cruising the Disney Wonder on April 18. While I have a fair amount of weight to lose, I would love to lose a few more pounds

before the cruise. I am just trying to eat cleanly and watch carbs. It is so hard because I love food, eat emotionally and am at an age where it just doesn't budge.

thanks!
Lynn

Hi Lynn! Welcome to the thread! You can do it!

I'm back for round 2! Last year I was trying to lose for my first cruise ever, a 4 night on the Dream. I think I had lost about 30lbs from Sept til cruise time in Feb. I kept on losing after the cruise, and my total weight loss is up to 44lbs!

Now we're planning another cruise for this summer (I hope!) and I have about 10-15lbs to go til I'm "normal" according to the BMI charts. Hoping to have that off by April, so my short term goal is 5lbs by Feb 20. They say the last few pounds are the hardest to shed and it's so true! But now it's time to get down to business to defeat the pounds! Let's do this!

May I join you all as well? We just booked our first Disney cruise for April 2015, so long to go! But we also have a family wedding on Nov. 1st. I've been trying to lose weight for most of my adulthood, but medical reasons make it so hard! I have insulin resistance and even losing 5lbs is tough. No amount of meds seem to help and my stomach suffers by taking them. I recently went gluten free, to help with the tummy troubles, and in 9 months lost a whopping 10 lbs. But my goal is to get down 30 by Nov. 1st and another 20 by cruise time. My plan is to eat a clean, paleo diet and start my C25K program again. I have a secret ambition to run the Princess Half Marathon in 2016. Creeping up on 40 has me trying to relive my late teens/early 20s! :rotfl2:

First two weeks were next two not great but down 10lbs so far. Started to do classes at my gym this week and hope it helps me lose more inches before we cruise. Glad to see more people on here and will try to check in every week.

I would love to join! My husband and I are cruising Jan. 2015 for our 30th anniversary! I need to loose a lot of weight but I would be happy with 30 for our 30th! :cool1:

Last July I joined Weight Watchers and have lost 50 lbs so far.
I have about 60 lbs more to go. I won't have it off by my next cruise, March 2015, but I will be much smaller.
Get your head in the game, get serious about it, and it will happen.

Hi Everyone,

For any of you working on losing some pounds how would you like some motivation to lose the weight?

Check out dietbet through google. I started a game a few months ago but not many participated. I could set up our own Disney Cruise game.

Right now I am doing one game but I would like to join another.

Let me know if you are interested.

I'm working on losing some weight as well. Started a new program. Doing 21 Day Fix when it arrives. Very motivated. It would be fun to do a game with folks who all love Disney.

Have a magical day!

Andrea
