LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

count me in. I would like to lose 25 lbs before my April cruise. I am trying to decided between Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. Any input, especially experience w/ Jenny Craig would be appreciated!

I started Jenny Craig 4 weeks ago this Monday. I've been losing 2 lb per week. I love the food and I'm never hungry. I also like the fact that I don't have to plan meals and portion size. I was really skeptical because I've never paid for a weight loss program before and I'm an emotional eater. My counselor is great and keeps me motivated! And I joined with a friend so we keep each other in check. I have also started doing the Wii Fit plus and I think that's the key to any weight loss program -combining diet and exercise. I would like to be 40 lb less when I cruise at the end of May. :goodvibes

I'm trying to lose a few pounds before the cruise (seriously, about 5), in two weeks. I know that my main issue is that I need to get off my fanny and work out, along with not boredom eating. But vanity pounds (which, I admit, is what I'm trying to lose) are the most difficult, so we'll see how it goes.

I started Isagenix in October and although I didn't follow it to a "T", i lost 8 pounds and 26 inches in 18 days. (2 dress sizes). I'm doing the maintenance now and still losing. My girlfriend lost 41 pounds (forget how many inches) in 8 weeks on it and is still losing. Will do another 9 day blast after the holidays to lose that last dress size.

I started weight watchers a week ago and have already lost 7 pounds. Keep it up everyone and congrats on your success so far.

I don't have another cruise booked yet but I would love to join in! I joined WW last Monday and have done pretty well with my eating this week. I already feel much better b/c I haven't been eating junk. I go weigh in tomorrow morning and I will post the results.

please count me in too. I've been doing scottish slimmers (the same idea as WW - yes I've done WW several times before too). So far I've lost 11 pounds but now the countdown to christmas is on I'll probably end up putting it back on! lol

Anyway I'm in. Perhaps posting my loses or gains every week will keep me on track. ;)

I think we are going to move you guys to the WISH Board here in the next few days, you may want to subscribe to the thread so that you can find us.

Had a good week so far, but I don't officially weigh in until next week!! Congrats to all who have lost this week :thumbsup2 Keep it up!!

Day 4 with me on phase 1 of south beach and it's getting much easier. The challenge will be the holiday parties I have this weekend.

I have to share , I am down 4 lbs already!:yay: I know it is probably water weight and I shoudn't get too excited but I seriously have been trying to lose weight for 10 years now and to see the scale finally moving in a downwards directions is a new thing for me!

Well done!! I think an upcoming cruise is motivation for a lot of us to drop a few pounds.
I decided a few weeks ago to ditch my scale as I was starting to obsess with it. So now Im just using my clothes as a guage. I can only report I went from a US12 to a US10 since mid October. Would like to see an 8 but not counting on it! Planning on coming home from the cruise a 14! :thumbsup2

Please standby on where we are moving this thread...in the meantime here is to all our continued success!!!:cool1:

Down to single-digit pants!!! :banana:I also stopped using the scale - the way my clothes fit is a muuuch better measure.

Single digit pants are my dream before I leave for my cruise! Im a snug 10 right now but was a 16 over the summer so Im quite happy with my progress. ;)

I'm joining the bunch! We cruise Oct 8, 2011 and get married October 1st.

That's a little more than a year and a half to go.

I've lost 35 pounds so far doing Jillian Michael's Master your Metabolism. She kicks butt!

I have another 70 to go. As Hgon76 said, it is a way of life...a mindset change. Exercise needs to be a regular consistent part of your week now.

It is really simple, it is calories in, calories out. In order to lose a pound, you need to save 3500 calories over 7 days. That can be done by burning it off with exercise, cutting calories or a combination of both. I aim for 2 lbs a week, so that is 500 cal a day I need to eat less of (my target is about 1400) and I need to burn 500 exercising. That is the constant for me. If I eat more, I need to move more.

I am using what they use on the Biggest Loser. It is a computer thing called the Body Bugg. It straps on your arm and monitors all day long your calorie consumption and calorie burn and lets you know where you are at with your targets. So if I haven't met my noon target for exercise, I can get up from my desk and walk a bit around the office.
