LOS passes at check in to OKW

I was told that you can't get these passes until you check in to the OKW resort.

However, is there a way to pay for them in advance by credit card over the phone????? I'd like to put them on my Universal Studios card to get the points for free admission into the park. If I wait until check in that's about 700 points that I won't be able to use towards these tickets.

no, they have to be purchased at check in for every member of the party (except annual pass holders in your party).

Do you know where I can find prices for the LOS passes? I will have 5 AP's and will need to renew 2 of them halfway thru our trip. That half we will be at OKW and I would like to decide which way to go before we arrive! Thanks, Joan S.

Based on how long you are going to stay, be sure and compare the LOS prices with AP prices. There is a point at about 7 or 8 days at which the AP is actually cheaper. Then if you get back again in the same year your park costs are already covered. I almost always go for 9 to 10 days and learned early (though not early enough) that I was losing money on the LOS even if I didn't get back within the year.

I'm not familiar with the Universal Studios card.

If it's a Visa or MasterCard, why couldn't you charge your passes to that card when you check in?

I could do that but unfortunately it won't help with getting the free passes for that trip. I'd probably have to make phone calls and they need to be redeemed. I don't think they could be redeemed that quickly to be able to use them THAT trip. My points would just go towards the next trip. Which is not a problem...I'd just prefer to use them now.

Just use your credit card ahead of time to purchase travelers checks - then use the travelers checks to pay for your passes... that way you will get the credit to your account.

I never really thought about purchasing travelers checks using a credit card. I guess I thought they would consider that a cash advance. On our credit card when you make a cash advance interest begins immediately and it does not go towards any rewards program. Does anyone know if travelers checks are considered a purchase or a cash advance? Could you maybe buy hopper passes at the Disney Store ahead of time that are a bit less than the UMP and then trade them in at check-in for the UMP? Does anyone know if that would work?

I guess I'd need to know if Traveler's Checks are considered a cash advance or not. Otherwise that would be a great plan. Does anybody know this answer???

i,m new here and in the process of passing papers for dvc at wl. i know ap is annual pass......what is los, and what are you talking about...universal studios pass ?

A sure fire way to do this that WILL work is to buy Disney Dollars at TDS with the credit card and then use them to pay the room bill that includes the passes. The glitch is the daily limit on buying Disney Dollars that many stores impose. You can get around this by doing multiple transactions or having multiple guests buy the Disney Dollars.
