My youngest is obsessed. Right now it's all she thinks about. She has long hair so is wearing it in braids like Arwyn. She wants her room to look like a forest, she want to move to New Zealand and already has plans for it. By the way, did you know Orlando was going with her? I doubt he knows yet either.

She loves the dresses they wore, but I admit I do too. She wants a dress though. I know what she's going to be for halloween this year already.
Something else me and my little girl have in common. She loves the swords and would love to collect them. She tried to have me plan where I would put them. lol

Sounds like you two would get along well with DBF and I. We are LoTR and fantasy obsessed.

We are certified D&D playing, Ren- Faire going, sword and armor collecting freaks!

LOL, Serena!!

"By the way, did you know Orlando was going with her? "

Well, my DD recently went shopping and bought a "I love Orlando" sweatband!!

I just had to tease her and said, "I really love going to Disney World too, Jennifer!!!" :teeth:

Don't know how old your DD is but Hot Topic has some LoTR small "girl tees" . More than one with Orlando ;)

I'm pretty sure that Chris and I are going to be Aragorn and Arwen (respectfully) when we get married. Since it all ties in with the Halloween theme!

that isnt my thing and no flames but i think orlando bloom is one ofthe most un-attractive guys i have ever seen in my life.. but thats just me.....

I always wanted to try that, but have been toooo chicken. lol

Nemo, I am so glad you don't like Orlando Bloom. Just think what we would do in this world if we all liked the same man. It might get a little messy.

Deb, I'm going to use that next chance I get. :teeth:

Desiree, I think it will be beautiful.

For anyone seriously obsessed with LoTR, I'd recommend checking out a free online RPG called Elendor Fun place... played there for years. Nice people too.

What would you consider Elendor to be rated? See, my youngest is 12, and I'm pretty careful about what she sees or does, especially online.

Your DD would get along fabulously with my DS. Oldest DS dresses up as Frodo complete with cape, an old vest of mine - ring around his neck (which is now lost and he's driving us  trying to find it) ...he's even got DS2 - trolling around on all fours saying he's Smmmiiigel.....I LMAO when DS2 tries to grab the ring away and whispers "Precious"....just like Gollum....

When oldest DS isn't home - DS2 assumes Frodo's role...when there's no fighting over Sting.

As for Orlando - I find him particularly yummy as an Elf.....somehow without the blonde hair and ears, he doesn't do quite as much for me.....;)

Well, Elendor tries hard to keep things PG. The admins do a good job at keeping things in control. There are a wide variety of ages on the game and the admins are very responsive to any sorts of complaints about inappropriate language and behavior.

That said, you never know when some wacko might say something publicly that's inappropriate. I've been there since 1995 and I've seen a few incidents, but very few.

LOL, well, she goes to public school and probably hears more than I do.
I bookmarked it so she can look around. Maybe I should hide it instead so I can use the computer occasionally.

My family is obsessed too. Well, mostly me. :p

Orlando Bloom is beyond hot. But for me, its Eomer, the Horsemaster. Yowza.

Broad shoulders. Tall. Nice legs. Mmmmmm. Just entirely too much random adoration to stand in that movie. I mean - just plunk me pretty much anywhere, and there's somebody there to drool over. :p

Well, tell her I'll see her there when I go with Viggo :teeth:

I understand her obsession ;)

There are also a number of Lord of the Rings fantasy Role Playing books. Not sure what the books would be rated or how complicated they are, but if she has a friend or two who also like it, they might enjoy making up their own adventures. I can find out more about this from people I know who have played it, if you'd like, and I'm sure it's pretty common in the bigger bookstores if you want to flip through it yourself.

I'd imagine like all fantasy RPGS she'd make up her own character based on the minor guidelines, and one kid would run the game (ie. make up the story) and the other(s) follow along with how their characters react to the situations the person running the story puts before them. May be a little complicated sounding, but I know of young kids who do play fantasy RPGS that involve human interaction, and not video games (not that there's anything wrong with video games either!)

Here's one sourcebook -

Most of the items are pricy, but they are officially from WETA (the actual design company) and are great quality. I have seen many of the pieces in person since somebody at work has ordered most of them and he brings them in after they arrive.

Pete is LOTR obsessed as well and has been ever since the first movie came out in 2000. :hyper: I, on the other hand, have been a Tolkien geek for quite some time. :o

Orlando Bloom is a touch young for my tastes. lol But Viggo, well, that's another story.

I'll have to take a better look at that horsemaster. :teeth:

I'm going to think about how obsessed I want her to get with those role playing games and such. hmmm

Here ya go, Laurie:

Oh yeah, I had a feeling it might be him. I just love his, well nevermind. ;)
