In the three years I've known the man, he's cooked for me one time. That one time was good, actually. But he was following a receipe.

Today he is going to make meat loaf. I asked him if he is following a receipe. He said no, he had "an idea in his head" of how to make it! I have no idea, I've never made it, since Mom made it once a week growing up and I got sick of it. So he is totally on his own here.

Don't get me wrong, I love that he is trying to do something nice for me, :goodvibes and however it turns out I'll say "Yum! This is delicious! Thank you sweety! :thumbsup2 " But I'm just hoping we still have some Pepto in the medicine cabinet...

DH made dinner for me last night. Brats, Kraft Mac & Cheese & canned green beans.

I think I would rather have experimental meatloaf.:lmao:

My husband's idea of cooking for me is running out to get the pizza.

I've known my dh for 11 years and he hasn't cooked for me once! I don't eat ramen noodles or hot dogs too much so it will probably stay this way forever. lol

Awww, that's sweet!

Sit back, put your feet up, relax and enjoy your dinner! :thumbsup2

My DH is actually a great cook when he tries. Mostly everything he cooks is on the grill though.

Yes, DH grilled last night. I of course, actually made the raw ground beef into hamburger patties, set the table, sauted the the onions and put out all the toppings. But he grilled the meat! :teeth:

He decided that he wanted to try to make meat loaf out of the left over ground beef we had. Wish me luck!

I'll stick with my Papa John's Spicy Italian Pizza and breadsticks tonight :thumbsup2 They boy is picking it up from the store, thats about all the cooking I trust him to do without supervision.

Believe me he needs supervision, he couldn't even cook foods when I was bedridden for a week! Lucky for both of us I could still get up and move if neccessary.

after suffering 20 years of DHs beef stew, I finally told him the stuff tasted like dishwater. the kids wont eat it either.
other problem, he wants to bbq EVERY weekend, year round. I really get sick of bbq chicken, ribs, briscuit, etc. And BEANS, every weekend,
know how gassy I stay? :sad2:

when I think of bad cooks, i always think of elliemay from the Berverly Hillbillies

you don't like possum pot pie????? :confused3 :teeth:

ya klnow the absolute worst meatloaf i ever made i followed a recipee that was posted by rachel ray as a fast way to do it,, that was the nastiest stuff i ever made, it was worse than the time i put poultry seasoning into gravy

and i am ussually a great cook.

tonight i made sauteed pork chops, corn on the cob, colored butter beans, fried okra, fried squash, and crescent rolls,

I've got a stock solution for chicken broccoli soup simmering upstairs right now for dinner tomorrow. Got about 10 more DIS minutes before I gotta finish it off. DW even likes it and she doesn't like broccoli

Gee, I thought I was the only one with a husband like this.

Chicago, so how was the meatloaf?

You know, DH got done cooking it (it smelled great!) and we looked at eachother. He said "I'm not really hungry, are you?" "No" I said truthfully "I'm not really hungry either!". We wound up not eating dinner last night! We'll have it as leftovers tonight, though. But like I said, it smelled good so it should be okay!

mmm MMM - nothing like a left over meatloaf sandwich with ketchup... :thumbsup2

I could probably count on one hand the # of times DH has cooked dinner. Which is a good thing because everything he cooks is beige, slimy, and tasteless. I actually think he messes up on purpose. He can't cook, he can't do laundry, he can't clean. How did he survive before me? ;)

My DH swears by leftover meatloaf sandwiches with ranch dressing and cheese.
