OMG we are almost there , i kept telling myself this over and over -we had already been to WDW in 1/03 and stayed at AKL - one day at work i was extremely bored and thought what the heck how about another WDW vacation, lets go for broke!!
after 2 months of planning and tossing the plans and starting over again- i believe i have developed the best itinerary known to man kind- (yeah right!)
my step son DS16 had never been before - he recently started living with us and i thought he would enjoy the WDW magic- i think i was kinda wrong about this
we had tiffany town car pick us up - no one believed me when i said there would be someone at the airport holding up a sign with my name- lo and behold angela shouts out- wow- look ma there is some bald man holding up a paper with your name- knew this would impress the teens as it was a daily struggle to get the teens impressed!! our driver was very nice, quiet but nice- i thought we were going to publix for our grocery stop but he said cash & carry was better & he had a discount card to share-
hmmmmm- i was not too thrilled- geez did cash & carry take credit cards as i had limited cash and dave wouldn't be getting a tip if i had to pay cash (smile) no problem- they would accept any form of payment (except disney dollars)
cash & carry was like shopping at home- great 2 for one deals, buy one 16 pack of water & get one free (yahoo!!)
after loading our million gallons of water into the tiffany van we were on our way
check in at Port Orleans Riverside took about 30 minutes- i had read so many bad reports about POR that i felt like the garbage police- glancing over my shoulder at every turn to try & spot all this garbage i had been hearing about- guess what??? i saw NO garbage anywhere- just lots of CM's cleaning up- thank god- lets just hope the room is as clean
got our 5 UPH passes with credit authorization on 2 of them- heard a moan from the teen crew- "why can't we have credit too?" geez, did these kids think that after i stepped off the plane into orlando that i left my brain at home or what
felt sorry for the bell hop- we had 8 bags, 5 grocery bags, 6 gallon jugs of water, 4, 16 packs of water, and 2 cases of beer- hubby felt that if he had to go to WDW twice in one year that daily after the parks he was gonna kick back and relax!!
the room was great- it was bigger then what i thought!! - lil brian was told he would be sleeping on the trundle bed- we had to tell him over and over what a "special" bed this was as he felt that he was just sleeping on the floor- (he kinda was,all the trundle bed is, is a matress on a steel pulley that pulls out- holy cow i paid an x-tra $15 per nite for a mattress!!
is it possible to loose your UPH tickets in less then 30 minutes??? well, guess what i did!!!!- we had arranged the room with all our bags & decided to head out- everyone was out the door but me- i was checking my wallet for the pack of 5 tickets- holy @#@#@$ where are they??? - i felt my heart sink into my stomach- i frantically tore the room apart- i had been doing so much when we got in the room and mentally keeping track of all the tips i had been doling out that i didn't keep a mental track of our UPH's
well, everyone was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs- i was breathless and running past the group- "we have to get to the registration again- i can't find our tickets" i don't mean to sound mean but i think everyone in my group was on a brain holiday- no one seemed to understand the importance of me getting these lost UPH's canceled out-'" they are like credit cards i yelled out as stumbled over my own feet!!'
well, no problem canceling and getting new cards!!- although i am gonna call my credit card company as i keep having nightmares that the CM really didn't cancel out the first set of cards correctly and someone was having the best WDW vacation possible on me!!
Could day 1 get any worse-? come on have some optomisism- its disney- i just kept repeating this over and over to myself
