I am loving my loose leaf tea. I have gotten hooked on Teavana, but now that summer is here I am drinking it iced and the kids have taken to liking it too and it is expensive..... does anyone have a cheaper alternative with as good a flavor as teavana?

thanks guys... I like that my teens are drinking tea instead of pop but I don't know if I can afford 3 teens drinking tea.

it depends on which flavors you are looking for but I have found some really good loose teas at World Market.

Tea is mainly in how you make it. If you're anal about your preparation most loose teas are excellent. You can get good flavors out of loose Lipton, Twinings, Republic of Tea, etc... as long as they are fresh and you make them right. The prices are not too bad, and when iced you really don't need to splurge. I've made $20 and $3 darjeelings iced and could hardly tell.

Some of my faves are Lipton's loose, Republic's Darjeeling, and Twining's Gunpowder green and all are fairly inexpensive. I actually prefer bagged earl grey from twinings over others I have tried.

Coffee and tea are all about the preparation. Temperature, brew time, and when icing, no extreme changes in water temperature. Pour your hot brew into room temp water, not cold. Ice it in the glass, sweeten (or not) in the glass.

I have recently ordered 1# bags from Baltimore Coffee & Tea Company www.baltcoffee.com

I love the Black Raven Tea from the Eastern Shore Tea Company and this was one of the few places I could find it. Makes a great iced tea for the summer.
