Hi all

I have booked an RV site for my in-laws next month and they plan to bring their dog. No where during reservation process did it have an area for me to add the dog. Do they notify them at check-in or should I call reservations and request dog friendly loop?

Thanks!

Hi all

I always call in for my reservation, so not aware what the online process is, but yes, they usually want to know about pets. They always ask if there's any pets when we make our ressies. We don't have any, and always stay in Loop 100 if possible which is pet free (200 is also).

What type of site did you reserve? The first 3 loops are preferred sites, and only 300 is a pet loop - not sure which others are, but you probably should let them know.

I got them a full hook-up site.

Thank you for info, I will call them tomorrow :)

In addition to what NoM said (and she's correct of course by the way) :teacher: ,

For other folks reading in a general sense, if you put an email address on your reservation, you will receive an email 10 days before arrival offering early check-in. That means you can load your credit card on the ressie to allow charging priveledges (I never), estimate your time of arrival, and any special requests. The special request section is selection bubbles next to things like: "near a comfort station", "loop 100" (not all loops listed), "pet loop", "near a bus stop", etc.

IIRC you can only select one special request but the pet loop option is there. So it's best to have it on your reservation but it can't hurt to select it again during early check-in.

All 4 full hookup loops are pet friendly. :thumbsup2

There are dedicated pet loops, and dedicated non-pet loops. I have heard that there are also loops that can be used as either.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is there is a pet surcharge that must be paid directly to Ft. Wilderness.

Just want to add in that even though they say they are pet-free loops that is not 100% accurate. We were in 1300 loop which we requested a pet-free loop due to allergies along with my son being scared of them and they placed many people with dogs on our loop. I brought it up to the concierge and they said that when they are full the pet-free loops are used as overflow and there is nothing they can/will do about it. I am just putting this information out there.
