Loop 200, 400, or 1400?

Any suggestions? We like shaded sites. We plan to take our car to the parks, except for MK. We plan to swim in the main pool.

If you are going to use the pool a lot 1400 probably be better for you. We usually use the buses, I know a lot of people complain about them, but it seems to take about the same time considering parking and riding trams. We were in loop 300 in Dec and liked the location a lot.

1400 there is a lot of shaded sites and about no more than a 5 min walk to main pool.

We have stayed in both 400 and 1400 and both were great! I liked the 400 because the kids could walk over to the Trails End and fill their refillable mugs and go to the Arcade, but the 1400 would be a better choice if you want to be near the pool. I didn't really notice a big difference in the size of the sites we had at the two loops - but I do know the site on the 400 loop (419) was a bugger to back into with our 34 ft. travel trailer. I think my husband must have spent 45 minutes getting it in there - and my apologies to the neighbors who had to listen to the process!

Just stayed in 400's this weekend. The 1400's give you access to the meadows area without having to travel far, or cross a main road.

Having stayed in all 3 over the course of my Disney lifetime (used to camp with my parents and then camped the first time with a pop up with my own family this weekend)....

I loved the 1400 loop. I prefer to be near the meadow trading post area. We were 5 campsites from the comfort station that was next to the campfire program. We thought we had an awesome location and hit the campground jackpot.

I would love to know how to request that again b/c it was perfect.

If you are driving to the parks the 1400 loop is the perfect central location.

rwenzel2 (or anyone else):
Were all of the sites in 400 really hard to get into? We've got a big tall 33 foot fifth wheel. We're not really experienced backers ( we're working on it :) ). I had requested the 400 loop because of its location. Should we change our request?
Thanks!

Not all the sites looked to be difficult. But there did seem to be quite a few that were pretty tight. We had a tight squeeze getting in. Twice the loop was at a stand still for several minutes while folks maunevered into position. That said, any loop has those sites we would rather avoid. If it doesn't kill ya, it makes you stronger!!!:rotfl2:

I am taking my first solo trip in a week, and feel a sense of dread at backing in on my own, yet a strange sense of excitement at the same time:thumbsup2 DW thinks I'm nuts:rotfl:

We did notice that many appeared to be difficult to manuever. I saw one family request a different site because they couldn't make the one they'd been assigned. I'm sure each loop has its doozies when it comes to backing in. I think I'd just leave the request the same, and if they assign you a site that's too tough, request another, but be prepared to get a different loop as well.

by the way, we had requested the 100 loop but were assigned the 400. It worked out fine in the end. It just took an extra strong Jack and coke for my husband to recover from the experience!!! :drinking1
