Loop 1500 vs. 2000

Hi, we have a large pop-up and have requested a partial hook-up site for upcoming trip. After searching around it looks as if 1500 and 2000 are only loops that have partial hook-ups. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience staying in either loop and if so what were the pros and cons. If one is a “must do” I would like to make a request on my reservations as soon as possible. If it makes any difference it will be my wife and our three children 12, 10 & 8. Also I’m not much for dogs and it looks like the 1500 loop is adjacent to the 1600 pet loop. Is the 1500 loop nosier then most do to its close proximity to the 1600 pet loop, bus line and pool? 1500 would be my first choice but if it is just too noisy I would rather pass. How crowded are the bath houses? It looks like the 1500 and 1600 loops share only one while the 2000 loop has 3. Thanks for the help.

We have stayed in both loops and like the 1500 for its location by pool, trading post and campfire. The 1500 is the nosier of the two (but not a big deal) and you will hear the occasional dog bark. I am not a dog person either and the barking we have heard was not a bother. The bathrooms do get busy in early am but not a problem. I think there are only 2 CS in the 2000 loop but it is a much larger loop with almost everyone needing to use the comfort stations. The 1600 loop that shares the CS with the 1500 is full hook up so many of the campers in the 1600 have their own facilities in their campers

I have tent camped in both the 2000 loop and the 1500 loop.

I like the 1500 loop much better because of it's central location and the size of the loop.

Loop 2000 is huge with about 70 sites and it is relatively easy to be quite a ways from the comfort station.

Loop 1500 has only about 35 sites and none of the sites are too far away from the comfort station.

I have never noticed any dogs barking from the 1500 loop.

I love that I am right across the street from the Meadows trading post and campfire program. There is also a pool right nearby.

Since 1500 is centrally located, it is an easy walk/bikeride to either transportation area (Settlement/Outpost, Marina).

I have stayed in the 1500 loop and would request that one. The 2000 loop is large, and if you have my luck, would be the furtherest away from the comfort station  . However, I now have a travel trailer and spent 3 weeks in the 1600 loop last summer. I never used the 1500 loop during that stay as the 1600 loop also has a comfort station at the front of the loop. I have never noticed any dogs barking while staying in the 1500 loop. The owners usually keep them on a leash while walking and then in their campers during the other times. What I did notice about the partial hook up sites was that most people use their vehicles as "extra storage" and will visit their car often, locking it every time they are done with their hand held remote, usually sending the short horn sound. With that said, I heard more car horns than I did barking dogs.

I do agree about the car sounds. While I don't recall any beeps, I do recall one afternoon while taking the rare nap, some family must have opened and shut their van sliding door about 10 times.
But that could happen in Loop 2000 also.

(I usually go to a deluxe or moderate resort for lunch and then find a comfy chair or swing somewhere to people watch and relax)

I'll be flying for this trip to Ft. Wilderness, no rental car, so I promise no beeps or car door slams from me!

I agree with the 1500 loop. If you want to be away ffrom the 1600 loop try the higher numbers in the loop but they are farther away from the comfort station. It is one of the smaller loops in FW and has the best location. The bus stop is right there as is the pool, trading post and the campfire. I have stayed there three times. The dog loop has never been a problem.

I have requested the 1500 loop many times, and it was not until our April trip, that we finally were placed there. I do prefer it over 2000, but that loop isn't terrible. One funny thing on two different trips we assigned the same site! We were pretty surprised that happened.

We have stayed in the 2000 loop before and did not like it. We were at the very back of the loop- and it is a big loop. We had a very long walk to the bus and it was very hot that trip. We have requested the 1500 loop for our up coming trip on Dec 17th and I am crossing my fingers to get it. Another thing I did not like about the 2000 loop has to do with the buses. If you want the go to the meadows trading post, the big pool, the campfire and movie or a playground you have to take a bus to the settlement and then change to another bus. If you are in the 1500 loop it is a short walk to all of that- definately a plus.

We stayed in the 2000 loop last week. We were site 2001 and I would request that one again. It was close to the bus and the CS. We didn't do much in the campground, we were mainly in the parks all day.

However, my husband was furious with the CS situation. There are 68 sites in the loop with 2 CS. The loop was full last week (Thanksgiving) and he had to wait to use to the toilet, wait for a shower and wait to shave. I was smart and showered at night - lol.
