We arrived Sunday and are staying in the 1500 loop. The doors to the Gents and Gals Comfort Stations plus the laundry room had signs explaining that the doors would be locked from midnight to 6:00 AM and room keys could be used for access. Today we noticed that the signs have been removed. The door to the Gals Comfort Station doesn't latch on its own anyway so there is free access 24 hours a day. Not so sure I like that. I should probably ask at the main office in the morning... Judy

Probably saved a person or two from peeing in thier pants. I know there's been a couple occasions Kari needed to go, got all the way there before realizing she forgot her room key. One time she had to come back another, she got lucky and a guy just walked out the men's so she asked him to open it for her.
Grabbing a room key card probably isn't the first thing on your mind when you have to go pee at 3am.

I'm sorry, but grabbing that card in the middle of the night needs to be first on your mind. Especially with recent events. I don't want just anyone to have access to those comfort stations at all hours of the night!!

I agree. There really isn't any good reason to leave this comfort station unlocked.

I hope this is just some temporary issue. Although having the doors locked between 12 and 5 isn't going to stop a real bad guy, it at least provides some assurance that only a registered camper will be in the comfort station during those hours.

I can't think of any good reason why the Fort would change the long standing policy of having the comfort stations locked overnight, so I am guessing that this is just a temporary maintenance type issue. Like maybe new signs are coming, or they are going to paint or something.

The locks appear to still be there; but, the door doesn't latch when it closes on its own. You have to pull it closed behind you. Fortunately I haven't had to make a late night run to find out for sure.

Loop 1500 is more than 1/2 full. There was a waiting line again tonight for showers. Judy

We were in the 1200 loop on Labor Day weekend and the CS door didn't shut by itself either. You had to push the door shut for it to lock. Every time I went there the door was unlocked and all you had to do was pull the door to open it. The other thing about that is if the door isn't locked, it doesn't make any noise when it opens. When I'm in the shower at night and I go in to take a shower and I'm the only one there at the time, I like to know when someone else comes in after me. Maybe I am just paranoid, but I would prefer it if the door would lock like it is supposed to!

This is common in all the loops. The doors don't shut well when the A/C is on which is most of the time. They could adjust the door closers but it is a fine line between getting the door to latch every time and not making the door too hard to pull open for kids and people about to P on themselfs.:scared1::rotfl2:
