Looks like we just got busted!

Disney is well schooled in the ways of commerce & limitations on sales, which I'm sure the legal department drills into their skulls. Originally the offer (to my knowledge) didn't state it was a one time shot or that all orders would be bundled, something someone with even half a brain could figure out meant people might divide their orders. If they truly had no idea that this might be a possibilty, then perhaps that's why the company is having money problems & their troubles are much worse than we suspected.

But that's just it. The fact they pulled it after like 18 hours tells me that it was a mistake. I don't think they were using this to clean house, nor to bring new customers in. I'm sure there's a now out of work Disney Programmer that forgot to add the check to make sure that you have a minimum order.

It will be interesting to see if Disney claims this was a glich or tries to pull a switcheroo. I didn't check into it in time, but given my current financial situation, it's probably a good thing.
:teeth:

No, I don't see Disney cancelling the orders. I see them having less Internet promotions, IMHO...

I don't know, the video sale they had was pretty quick & they were kind of tight-lipped about when it supposed to end & when it really ended & all that business.

As far as them honoring it, I think we might see some that they do & don't honor - much like the some people were able to still get the DVDs for $10 because the customer knew about the sale when it was before it was supposed to end, but after it had actually ended, while others simply got a *shrug* & a "sorry".

I never looked at the 2 e-mails I received from Disney over the past three weeks, (I had over 100 emails in my box, so I deleted them with the rest) so maybe I received the discount by email too, I don't know. Yesterday I tried to check out the code using the Internet to see if it was something that was a mistake. The best I could find is that the code had been in effect at least since 10/31 and there were no limitation on it except one per order.

I think that Disney has check points and double check points before giving out a discount code, anywhere, either by Internet, post card, catalog etc. Granted, anyone could make a mistake. There wasn't a start or end date for the code, there were no limits set on how often the code could be used, there wasn't a specific purchase amount required in order to use the code. The only limitation on the code was one per order. If they could place that limitation on the code, I'm sure they could have and would have placed other limitations too. As far as I know, from what I found on the net, the code has been in effect at least since 10/31.

I don't think Disney owes me anything and I wasn't trying to get over on anyone or anything or "beat the system". I was using a discount. If I'm not supposed to receive the discount, I'm sure Disney will let me know. I'll still purchase the items I ordered (except for 1 that I wouldn't have purchased except for the discount). I'll use my Holiday Gift Card for my purchase and get free shipping and handling when they bundle my order. :p Still a good deal to me. :p
