Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Are there still lots of loungers on the family beach near the water? I watched a video recently where they said there aren’t many loungers on the water anymore because of the tide.

This was the adult beach three days ago…there were more on the family beach. Even two hours after people started getting off the ship there were available loungers near the water.

Ok. How about the 🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰
Just watched a video of someone that visited a couple weeks ago and there was a swarm around their food. They did note that no one else around them seemed to be having an issue with flies

We were there last week. For most of our lunch there were no flies. Towards the end we had a couple flies that we had to brush away. It seems to be getting better.

For those who have been recently or those booked and able to see port adventures, are there any port adventures for Lookout Cay? I know I'll want to snorkel. Other than that, it looks like a beach day, which is fine, but I wouldn't mind doing a tour or something.

Also, does Palo have brunch on Lookout Cay day?

We found it very underwhelming, thought the water is very pretty.

Some issues:
- Very unfriendly for families with strollers - it is MUCH more difficult to navigate with a stroller than CC. Very unsure how ECV folks could use it - maybe there is an elevator or ramp on the cars, that was unclear.
- Family Beach on our trip was extremely crowded, it was difficult to secure chairs/loungers anywhere - we ended up with one chair and one lounger
- The layout is more confusing than CC, the paid food options are conveniently/centrally located, the free ones less so
- We found the "Junkanoo" very bizarre, and felt like a misstep on the part of Disney for a number of reasons
- The script on the tram is truly unbearable full with all kinds of terrible Disney Co. style puns not heard since the 90s....
- There were very few CM around to help the flow of traffic, guide guests, the whole vibe for cast members and crew felt very "every person for him/herself"
- The walk off the ship isn't too bad for adults and not too bad for kids in strollers - but for families with 2 or 3 kids who are young and can walk but might need to be carried after a long day that is terrible
- If it was JUST a walk or JUST a tram it might not be too bad, but it is both. We estimated it took about 40 minutes start to finish to family beach. So each way it is 80 minutes.... Granted that's about as far as it takes to park your car in EPCOT and walk into it, but at EPCOT you can theoretically spend the entire day - here it is 10:30-5:30 or so so you really do lose a meaningful percent of the day just going to and from the beach.
- Looks like there may be expansion areas. We were there on the Magic. It felt VERY crowded, more crowded to us than the times we have gone to CC on the Wish... We remarked we were glad to be there on the Magic, and not on the Wish... Given Disney's expansion plans, I have to assume they are hoping to have CC and/or LPLC able to accommodate multiple (potentially bigger) boats...

Just when I was looking forward to going…. I just want to relax on the adult beach with a loungers on the water..

I’ve seen people walk the long pier to the tram with umbrellas that say Lookout Cay, do they give those out? It seems like there is just one tram spot, so nothing to choose?

No they don’t give out umbrellas, people have been bringing their own. Yes only one tram stop

Are the bike rentals still not running? We were hoping to do that when we're there soon.

I haven't been on in a bit. We went on the Fantasy during Fall Break that we combined with a visit to Universal Studios. This was shortly after Milton went through central Florida. The waters had a lot of movement and it was windy most of the time. Nassau and Lookout Cay were both pretty rainy. I think some of the rough water was due to the small hurricane that developed and hit Eastern Cuba. I think that cruise was the roughest I've been on and that includes an Alaska cruise.

The walk over the pier was very pleasant, but I can see how it will quickly become an ordeal in the hot sun. The beach is absolutely beautiful. Even in the rain! The water is the most amazing shade of turquoise as well. As far as the infrastructure goes; it needs about 20 years of development. It is very bland, basic and boring. While we were on the beach, a refrigerator floated in and washed ashore. A lifeguard and some guests went out and dragged it up on the beach. In time, I imagine Lookout Cay will have as much character as Castaway Cay does. That being said, I do want to revisit Lookout Cay on a future cruise with some better weather.

We were on that cruise too. Watched the fridge come closer and closer…lol The fridge was all red too I was afraid to see what was in it….lol

That was the trip we did have a lot of flies when we were trying to eat.

They had a lot of families on the adult beach too.

Yikes... can't believe a fridge floated up.

I will say, I did notice a considerable amount of floating plastic while swimming at the beach.

Yep. One of the people there was really interested in one of the stickers on it. I just hope it was there because of the hurricanes and not because trash is going to be a regular occurrence.
