with something like a peach-mango/flavored teas.
Looked at the stores today and all the ones you add to your water, etc....had splenda or some sort of sweetener added to them, does anything exist without the artificial sweeteners & still taste good?? Tia

Hi, Tia. I have eliminated coffee, sugar and artifical sweeteners from my diet over the last month and figuring out what to drink in place of sweetened coffee was hard for me. Here's what I do:

I drink herbal teas (peppermint and blueberry are my favorites) sweetened with stevia (a powdered herb that is sweet) or agave nectar (a substitute for honey that doesn't raise the blood sugar as much as honey does). Either of these can be purchased at places like Whole Foods Market and Trader Joes or online (I buy mine at an international farmer's market near my home).

Hope this helps!

Susan

Since I can no longer have caffeine, I drink a lot of water and herbal teas.
I generally only buy my teas from Walmart. They have recently changed over a lot of their teas. They have about 30 varieties of green tea (which has caffeine) and few herbals than they used to have.

I also love drinking rooibos tea. Celestial Seasonings has a Madagascar Vanilla Red rooibos that I love.

If you don't care about caffeine, try chai teas and black teas. I used to love a spiced vanilla chai that my local coffee shop sold (Big Train Chai is the brand). And orange spice black tea is really good.

I do add plain sugar, but I know some who drink teas without any sweetener.

To flavor water, you can buy sugar-free syrups and add to your water. I used to buy bottles from my local coffee shop. You can by them online too.

This place has fabulous tea. I've had the mango before. I also liked the apricot. Honestly they have just about everything. Very good service too.

Are you looking for a cold drink... or a hot cup of tea?
for cold drinks I fill a big iced tea glass 3/4 with water and 1/4 with cranberry/raspberry no sugar added.
And for hot I like various Celestial Seasoning caff free teas with just a tad of honey and milk.
But... I drink coffee with peppermint every morning.

Celestial Seasonings normally has some great Christmas teas, some with caffeine and some without. I don't think that they use any artificial sweeteners.

I was never a tea drinker until I was invited to a Tea at the Grand Floridian. The tea I fell in love with there was a Nobo whole fruit. That tea is very expensive, but since then I've found Lipton's Premium Pyramid Teas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bavarian Mountain Berry!

Oh boy...I wish you luck on this one!!!
I'm trying to break the diet soda addiction & replacing most of it with herbal/flavored tea.

Good Luck. We were away last week and I accidentally got off the caffeine. I got a headache one day and pretty sick the next and realized it was because I hadn't had my diet Pepsi for a couple of days. I was drinking 1 to 2 litres a day. So since I went through the withdrawal anyway I'm staying away from it for now. So I've just been drinking lots of water. I do love all the different herbal teas that are out there too.

I had a ginger tea the other day from Yogi Teas that was marvelous! I've put it on my list for Holiday treats. Btw, I use stevia too and it's really nice with tea if you need a non nutritive, natural sweetner. I get mine at Whole Foods.

Have you tried the Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer tea? My daughter loves the stuff so much I bought her three boxes for her Christmas stocking. She drinks it plain or with a little honey. Stevia is pretty nice too, and you can find it in a lot of different forms these days (liquid, powder, individual packets, etc).

I'm a coffee and tea freak (I'm an Earl Grey kinda gal), and I've been trying to find an herbal tea that I will actually drink for a long time. I hate rose hips, and they are in most herbal teas.

I stopped drinking soda about a year ago and replaced it with water and tea. I love the Tazo teas, especially the passion tea. I don't like the after taste you get with died sodas and I don't like the sickening sweet taste of artificial sweeteners, so un-sweet tea has become my favorite drink.

Good luck with your search.

You may find that you are just not an herbal tea kind of person.

I am a lifelong tea drinker (and yes it has caffeine) but I drink the standard type of tea--black tea, orange pekoe, etc. I have tried SO HARD to actually like flavored teas, herbal teas, green tea, etc. and I just can't come around to it. After many years of trying and throwing away boxes of tea or bags of very expensive loose tea, I figured it was just me.

If you are trying to kick a coffee habit (and I assume this is due to caffeine), you might try switching to regular hot tea (has about 1/2 the caffeine of coffee) at first and fix it like you do coffee (sugar/milk or nothing), and then start stepping over to some of the teas listed in the above posts. Sometimes it better to do it gradually.

The only herbal I've come close to liking is Rooibos.

Thanks for all the great recs - I have made notes ;)

I had the stomach bug last week  and before that I was drinking about a pot of coffee a day :scared1:, after I got sick - I figured now would be a good time to 'cut back' the coffee (since I hadn't had it for a week) and switch over to something healthier and with less caffeine. I'm not totally ditching the caffeine, but, just want 'less of it'. I'm hoping my body adjusts soon, because the headaches by mid-afternoon really stink :sad2:.

The only thing negative thing I have found with tea is it tends to bloat my belly - not sure why - maybe my body is just adjusting :confused3.
