Yeah, sorry, questions again.

I got a flier in the mail that said I could pay $25/6 months or $99/year and send in the form with a check.

I also got a call from them that offered me $4.95/mo for 6 months (with a CC) or $89/year plus tax or $119/year for radio plus the download app.

Do I want the download App?

I want to go with a year at a time.

Can I get cheaper than that? If I keep refusing will they low ball or is that the lowest?

Thanks,

Dawn

I wanted to do a year at a time for my 3 subscriptions also. However, 25 per for 6 months is the best offer I have seen out there. I paid with CC but told them the did not have permission to auto renew.

We did a free trial of the app, and it kept cutting out. DH got really frustrated with it because it doesn't try to scan and reconnect automatically- you have to tell it to do it.

So he opted not to buy the app because we spent too much time trying to keep establishing a connection to it. And when you're driving, it is distracting as well.

Good to know. I didn't know they had a free trial.

What were you offered after the 6 month time period?

Nothing. I will have to renew again. The only reason I put up with the renewal stuff is that I do use Sirius. Probably about 95% of the time I listen to it in my truck. I own a business with two locations in cities about 45 minutes apart so, I spend a fair amount of time in my truck. Plus, all the trips to Orlando and Tallahassee.

When my service is about to expire I do a quick google search to see the best deals people are getting. I then call and tell them which deal I want or I will cancel. It's a pain but I'm only on the phone for about 5 minutes. I don't dicker with them, just lay out what I will pay. :thumbsup2

What do you mean you were offered nothing? Does that mean you pay full price after that.

Yes, but I that can't auto renew me. It's the same song and dance every time I renew.;)

I just renewed last night after a 2 month trial on my used car. They gave me 6 months for $25. DH also has a radio, and has never negotiated a better deal (had it before we were married). I took it upon myself to negotitate for DH's radio and had to go thru 3 people to get his deal. I just kept telling them unless they gave him the same pricing they gave me we would be cancelling his radio at the end of this month (his auto renew date). They eventually conceded and gave him the same rate as me. I think by the time I was done I was with the retention department.

I just set up an alert on my phone for just before the renewal date for me to call back and get the deal again on both radios.

I have had them tell me no. I just hang up and call again lol

14.95 month is their list price.

Yes, This^^ I have been doing this too for years and always get the $25/6! I just keep saying, "I will not pay anymore than $25/6, so if you cant give me that, cancel." They never cancel.

thanks all.

I sent in a check. It was $29 for 6 months, plus some $6 fee, so about $35 for 6 months.

I am not sure if I signed up for auto renewal by doing that or not. Anyone know?

Do I need to cancel before the 6 months is up?

It will "renew" automatically, but if you didn't give them a credit card they will just send you a paper statement for the full price once it expires. One time, during the renewal negotiations, they kept telling me I had to pay the full-price balance for the month between my expired discount period and my new negotiation, but I just told them, again, they could cancel it because I was not paying it, and they cleared it. I've had Sirius for about 6 years and go through this every 6 months. One time they absolutely refused to go with the $25/6 months, so they actually did cancel. But then I got a letter in the mail the next month with the $25 offer. I do like having it, but it's just not worth more than that to me.

I also love Sirius but hate the calling game they put me through every time I have to renew. I call and they make an offer I refuse, they call me and make an offer I refuse, I tell them what other people have gotten, they refuse, I tell them to cancel they beg but no good enough offer. the day comes to cancel and they make the good offer. I can't understand why they don't just give the cheap offer and get it over with. I find it hard to believe anyone really pays full price. My offer this time was 6 months for 25 then when they added all the fees it came to over $50 so I refused. They dropped all the fees so I paid $25 total for 6 months. And I have to go through this again in October.

I just tell them my car has Pandora, so it's cheaper to bump up my data plan and stream the music than pay their list price. Works every time.

I'm sure they will give you whatever you ask for. This may be the MOST annoying company ever. They will call you 5 times a day if you ever cancel.

As much as it is a pain in the rear, I think you get a better deal if you call. They'll go lower than what they say is their best price. They'd rather have a little of your money versus none of it.

That is so true, my DH went to cancel yesterday and they dropped the price 3 times before he accepted and I told him he should have held out one more round!

They told me no way to get $25/6 months...not going to pay more than others. Pia...not worth the hassle!
