Looking to do a timeshare presentation vacation, what company should I use?

If it's for Orlando, the only non-scary one I have heard is Marriott. They are supposed to be low pressure. I would avoid Westgate like the plague. Not sure about HGVC. I would be willing to do a Marriott for the right price and it seems like many get good deals for 5 days.

I agree - Marriott has a good reputation for not being monster material.

I would never do a Westgate tour. Their sales staff are awful.

Marriott was very low key and informative, salesman was honest.

Hilton was high pressurre, the sales people were rude. and the information was misleading and in some instances a down right lie.:sad2:

The other day a Marriott salesperson gave me an awesome quote for Cypress Harbor. I am now debating whether or not to do it, or to book outright without the presentation. We would save almost $80 a night if we did the presentation. Decisions, decisions.

If you are looking for a good, cheap 7 night package they are good, the sales people are okay, the entire company is below the Marriott/Sheraton but for what you get it's well worth it for only 90 minutes (FL statue legal time frame), We did them 2x's in less than 2 years..........

Do prefer the Marriott timeshare tours, have done 3 of those. I have posted before, we've done several in a time frame of 3 years. If you need the 7 days and you don't want to run around trying to put other packages together, do Westgate, Villas or Towers are nice. Ask for new(er) units, washer/dryers, whatever you desire. We always got what I requested, from all of the timeshare tours. Some at a deeper discount than was advertised.

Marriott and Sheraton only due 3-5 nights. Extra nights is costly, like ROH or Rack Rates, not worth it! But if you want to do that amount of nights that's perfect for you, again, ask if they can offer you any add nights at better rates, if the rates they offer you are high*, their properties are the better in Orlando.

Lots of decisions. There are many many timeshare tours out there, but stay with any of the above 3. They do follow all the guidelines and you will have an enjoyable time!

I am very fussy for myself and my family and I have done about 9 ending early last year(for my family) I can say I did do a timeshare with SIL at Westgate in Feb of this year tagged along( no they didn't mind), for the time of 90 minutes and staying a decent place for the price=go for it! Cheap vacation and nice one at that! Just to let you know, I am an ex agent over 13years of travel industry experience, all facets, doing so many I have alot of experience vs someone who heard* of them or went only one time in 1980,,,,

It takes a certain personality to do these for a vacation, if you can give up 90
the above 3 DO NOT keep you over 90 minutes it's against the FL law! Westgates lets you book at 730, and then you have the rest of the day......Sheraton/Marriotts are later they can start at 10:00 am-and can be booked as late as a 1:00pm tour. When making your timeshare tour, tell them upfront if you are needing/wanting a early tour, believe me when I say from the sales people you book your tour with-to the the sales person trying to get you to buy-chain of command, they all get a commission, so they do their best to serve you in every possible capacity! You can also skip their breakfasts as well, we always did for ALL the above property's, both myself and dh don't eat breakfast early! If you need any more additional information, PM, I d be glad to help you out!

Good luck and have fun!!!:cool1:

4/10 FL Bound! yipeeee:cool1: :woohoo:

Sheraton (Vistana) can be pushy and rude. I'll never do a timeshare "breakfast" or "tour" with them again---and this is coming from a Vistana owner (love the resort----hate the pushy sales/concierge staff). They pester us every year we come to stay. I literally have to unplug the phone in our villa during our weeks' stay.

Maria, next time whatever resort you stay at, when you check in, tell them to put on your folio "do not call for sales tour", I did this all the time when we rented from our friends who whom we rented from that were Marriott members, they will not call you, guarenteed!:thumbsup2

4/10-2 weeks, need that FL SUN!!!:woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Awesome ! Thanks for that tip Mari annie ! Over the years, we have repeatedly told them we have no plans to buy more time with them, yet they insist and insist. The new program for owners---designed within the last 18 months or so----is really a way to pin owners down to a timeshare spiel which they pawn off as an "owners breakfast". The new policy is that owners don't check in at the main lobby any longer. We go over to the Cascades Activities center to let "concierge" assist us with our check-in. What a joke. Sure, there was no line whatsoever......BUT, their so-called "concierge", was to have an "undercover" sales rep accompany you to your villa....he/she comes into the room (never lifts a finger to help you with bags or anything), and as soon as you bring the last bag through the door, they start their pitch. I was so disgusted by it. We were exhausted from our trip to FL---had a very early flight....then a drive from Tampa.....just wanted to relax.
Anyway, I wonder if I did request to have no more calls in my folio if this would affect the service we got as far as (especially), getting our requests met ? They have always been pretty good with getting us a room that matches our Diamond Lane requests and I wonder if they'd be less inclined to do so if I requested that I didn't want any more sales calls. I just don't trust them (Sheraton).

Oak Plantation is another good one to go on. They are really low pressure. I agree with what the others said about avoiding Westgate.
