Looking to do a last minute trip.

Just as the title says, I'm looking to do a last minute trip to Disney World.
My Birthday is August 12th, and instead of doing something that weekend, I'm looking at flying down to Florida from August 24th until August 28th.

The thing is, my one friend was in for the trip, but just as fast as she agree, she backed out on me. So, I'm looking at doing this trip solo. I've never traveled solo before, but it seems like it'd be a fun experience. I would like to see if anyone would be around during those dates I mentioned? Possibly meet up with other Disney fans directly at the parks?

If you are in wdw from the 15-24 you get 20% of your room, but your entire stay has to be within those timelines....

Call me a mother hen if you want, but, I'd be really careful with who and where you agree to meet people!

I know it's like a big ol dysfunctional family here on the Dis but the truth is that anyone can join and that means there could be skeevy people responding to your request to meet up!

Thanks for caring, I do appreciate it.
Just like anywhere else, I'm going to be cautious and careful with whomever I meet up with. It is Disney yes, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be wary of others. So no worries, I'll be fine.

I'm a huge mother hen myself. That's my nickname at work. I will admit that the "don't talk to strangers" lesson never stuck with me. We'll all be careful. Disney is a lot safer then most places but you are right to remind everyone to be careful meeting up with people from message boards. Definitely do so in a public area with lots of CMs and other guests around.
