My name is Michael Skulski. I am a co-chair for a dinner auction in Indianapolis, Indiana that raises money for youth programs. This event last year raised over $100,000.00. The charity I volunteer for in Indianapolis is St Luke Youth Programs. The youth programs are run by St Luke Catholic Church. The programs benefit many youth in Indianapolis -- most who belong to the church and some who participate in it's many programs including sports, elementary education, and after school care.

I was going to ask people to sell points for a reduced amount or donate points to procure a 2 bdrm villa for spring or summer break that will be auctioned off to raise money. I can provide you with any necessary info (tax id #s...) that you may want.

The way this would work is... I have talked to the DVC and we would ask for points to be sold/donated from user year 2004 or 2005.The points can not be borrowed or banked points.
The points would have to be good thru August 30, 2005
to accommodate a possible trip during the summer. We would have goal of obtaining enough points to cover at least a Sunday thru Thursday stay, if we got a enough points we include Friday and Saturday. We would value the donation of points based on the retail value of a villa thru Disney's home away home price ( ie 5 days @ OKW =$ 688 X 5 days=3440x1.12%tax= $3852.80. The 2bdrm would require 150pts Sunday---Thursday stay. 3852.80/150pts= $25.69/pt. So if you decided to donate 50 pts. you would receive a letter from our charity including tax id #(ie tax write off) for 25.69x 50pts=$1284. We have checked this over with accountants and they say it is kosher. The benefit for the member who donates are two fold-- they get to help a worth while cause and they likely would do equal to or better on their taxes than if they had sold them (@$10/pt) on the rent trade board. Check with your accountant or turbo tax. We would only accept points that meet our criteria. If we got the points by mid to late January we should still be able to to get some type of two bdrm for 4/3 thru 4/7 (Indy's spring break). Does this make sense?
The points would be transfered to my account. I would handle the reservation. I will donate at least 50 points myself and could donate more if the response is poor. I just became a member and I want to save/use my points on my young family this year. That is why we joined DVC! Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for considering this. You can email me back. I can provide with any additional information you my need. Thank you for your consideration. Happy Holidays. :cool1:  :cool1:
