Hey everyone, Im looking to book a trip to Disneyworld for me and my girlfriend May 1st - May 8th 2005. How is the weather that time of year and how are the parks? I went once before with my family a couple years ago, and I seem to remember it being VERY hot and humid and the parks being pretty packed. I just got back last night from Disneyworld, so how would you say the parks differ from May to October?

Also, Im looking to go to the Polynesian for the first time on this trip. So far I've stayed at POFQ and WL only. I want my girlfriend to really get the feeling for Disney as she hasn't ever stayed on property and hasn't been to the parks since she was a kid. Do you think the Polynesian is a good place to take her for a first time, or would you recommend a different resort and why? Thanks for all your help!

I was at WDW during the last week of April and first week of May 2004. I found it fairly warm, but not stifling hot. It was not as humid as mid-summer. The parks were crowded on the weekends, but during the week it was manageable.

I've never stayed at the Poly, but always wanted to. I can't think of a more "Disney feel" than seeing the castle across the lake!

I love all the resorts so I am a bad one to give advice....

Have a great trip.

We were there a couple of weeks later in May. Being from Michigan I found it very hot, but not as humid as June. We were upgraded to a balcony at the Swan and it was too hot to use it. My DH is looking over my shoulder and says I should never answer a hot question because I always think it is too hot. But it wasn't too hot not to have fun.
We have stayed about 10 times and our first time to the Poly is in January, but I think it would be a great place to stay for her first time.

I have been 6 times during the first 2 weeks of May. The weather varies but 3 of the trips the temps were in the low to mid 90's during the day with beautiful warm evenings. The other 3 trips had temps from the high 70's - high 80's with an occasional 90. The humididy had varied with it seeming higher on the hotter days. There has been hardly any rain on my trips in May. It has rained 3 times while I was in the parks and didn't last long.
The crowds have mostly been easy to deal with particularly if you arrive in the morning and get a lot done right away. Epcot has always seemed to have the lowest crowds. The MK has huge crowds on Saturdays and early entry days.
