It seems prices are cheaper for flights this way instead of flying on a Saturday, and a Friday. Thoughts on this? We are flying out of Pittsburgh, and Southwest seems to be the only non stop airline that flies out of the Burgh. TIA!

We often fly during non-peak days in order to get better rates. If you have the luxury of being able to begin and end your vacations in the middle of the week, it works out really well.

We always do mid-week flights when possible. For our fall trip we are flying out on Tuesday and returning the following Wednesday, it is about half the cost of weekend flights.

With SWA Tue and Wed are cheaper and if they run a sale in more than likely is for a Tue or Wed flight. So keep checking to see if your flight prices go down.

We have done Wed to Wed when our kids were little. Now, their school schedule doesn't leave a lot a room for flexibility, nor does my work summer vacation schedule, which must be Mon to Fri.
Someday, we'll be able to go back to mid week flights during off peak times of year. :thumbsup2

Hey, whenever you cn get the best price! Thats's pretty much my motto. We've always done the week long trips in summer and have done Tuesday/tues or wed/wed. This year we are doing a Sun-fri! which thrills me to no end because we get the day before to get everything ready and two days after to unpack and unwind. Plus, now that WDW has been charging higher prices on fri and sat! we tend to avoid wknds.

We are doing a Wednesday through a Wednesday in early May. Saved a ton on airfare by doing this plus it is a less busy check-in/check-out day.

We drive and still prefer to arrive mid-week; traffic seems lighter. We usually stay 10 days, though, so we have to come home on a weekend.
