Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

Well, if you already completed your tour during this incentive cycle, then I would probably call and leave a detailed message for your guide saying you want to lock-in. That said, we have had some recent reports of guides telling people that if you didn't lock in within 7-days of a tour, you have to wait for the next incentive period. If you have not done a tour this incentive cycle, I'd call and get one in today.

Just out of curiosity, with the increase in PP cost, does anyone actually expect the incentives to negate the increase and then some?
The incentives for buying more points wasnt very good this round for vdh, I am hoping that the 200 point incentive is better this round and I think thats possible. I dont think 150 or less will be better and I dont think Poly will be better.

I think CFW, VDH and possibly riv have a chance at higher per point being better, although I think less likely for Riv because the two main fl ones are doing well.

Im assuming vdh isnt doing as well as expected because of the pretty good incentives. It seems to me from talking to my guide that initial demand at vdh was the highest theyve seen when it was first on sale and things have slowed is my guess.

Would advise everyone to screenshot the incentives for this cycle for comparison because its the same link that shows the new incentives once the change hits. Im emailing my guide right now to please tell me the new incentive add ons (castaway cay, d23, etc) as soon as she knows

On the whole, definitely not. It does seem like they sometimes make a particular point level (and sometimes just for new members, sometimes just for add-ons) where they make the overall price/point slightly better than the last round. So, I could see, say, a 150-pt add-on at RIV or CFW having a slight better overall cost or, maybe 300 points for a new member getting slightly better from the last round. But, overall, I think most point levels will see an effective increase.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I received a response from my guide about adding 50 points on a contract that has already been signed with previous incentives.

We would get to have new incentives on 200 points if we added 50 more points at this point and we would also get the maintenance free 2025 points from February since we signed before our uy of Feb passed.

Permission is going to be asked for 90 days to pay if i decide i want to go forward, we shall see.

Well I just emailed my guide and she is out of the office until the 11th. I am starting to believe she only works part-time. Really sucks for incentive day because I have questions. Maybe the board can answer some.

I also asked if I were to add 50 more points if the payment can be extended to 90 days. I'll let you guys know the answer. Right now im at 60 days approved. I think with the caveat of it being necessary for me to buy more points, they might cave, but who knows.

Anyways some questions:

1. If we add 50 points tomorrow, would we qualify for incentives on 200 points since we signed for 150 already?

2. Would we still qualify for the February 2025 points since we got them on the 150 points and signed before the new incentive period?

Im sure ill find out from the boards what all of the incentives are before my guide gets back to me 🤣 But if someone can post all the additional incentives (D23, Castaway, etc.) Id really appreciate it!
1. You should still qualify for the previous incentives since the deal was originally under the prior incentives
2. This one I'm unsure about

You need to complete and official "tour" whether in-person or virtual. You will then receive pricing that is good for 7 days. If your guide is off today, I would reach out to MS and see what they can do. I'm sure another guide can conduct the tour.

What is the virtual tour, exactly?

We did an in-person tour in December (last incentive period.) And then last week when we talked to a guide to purchase, we didn't have any kind of virtual tour.

Well, I've never done a virtual one, but I think it is simple as having a conversation with a guide and them formally providing you pricing information. Whenever they do that, by law, you have 7 days to act on that pricing information. So, even if you're crossing an incentive period expiration, you can still take advantage of the prior period incentives until day 7 after your "tour" whether that was in-person or virtual.

I ended up calling in and talking to Bill since he is highly recommended on the boards and he did confirm that it is not a hard sales tactic :(
Anytime you speak to a guide now during an incentive period you have a 7 day window to purchase or you become ineligible for incentives until the next cycle. That is very disappointing to me-back in December I called in just to ask a few basic questions with no intention to purchase soon in mind, yet my 7 days started then and now I cannot complete another tour today to lock in todays prices. The only option is to actually agree to and draw up a contract to secure this cycles pricing.

He did also confirm that there will be changes for tomorrow and the current links will not update like they did in the past.

I wanted to let everyone on here know asap-it seems like getting pricing may be more difficult without reaching out and that in turn starts your 7 days........

That’s definitely an interesting decision…

I'm confused. If you draw up a contract today it does guarantee the pricing that ends today on 2/9/26? Are you saying it is just locking in the $235 price but you are no longer eligible for the incentives?

Hmmm. This would explain why my guide sent me my CCV pricing in a new format that was an attachment to an e-mail. She had remarked how they had a new format that was different from the past.

So, is the new policy only one "tour" per incentive cycle or that you are completely ineligible for incentives during a particular cycle if you let those 7 days lapse? I can see the former making some sense from their perspective - don't want people to keep wasting their time with tours multiple times during an incentive period. The latter strikes me as somewhat dumb - and I sort of question whether they will enforce that. If you completed a tour several weeks ago, but call in today and say you are ready to sign and give your deposit based on incentives today, are they actually going to say no, sorry, have to wait until tomorrow?

I will say that I'm aware of one other person on these boards who switched to my guide and was told earlier this incentive cycle that after the 7 days, they had to wait until the next incentive cycle. The story as I understand it, is that our guide clearly wanted the sale, but she was being told by her superiors that it had to wait - they eventually got the deal done, but sounded like they made things very difficult.

I will say they are acting weird about the 7 day thing. We weren't supposed to be eligible to buy direct with best member financing until february 27th but because she told us the incentives already our guide told us her superiors were telling her they had to push it up (Fine by us!)

She also told me that after 7 days it reverts back to your originally assigned guide so I thought that was motivation for our new guide as well.

Because of that our closing is technically more than 60 days out because it started two weeks before it was supposed to. Seems like they care more about implementing this 7 day new rule than their desire to stop stretching out the closing.

I dont think they'd say no to a sale later, but seems like theyre trying to put the pressure on for people to buy within 7 days or youre out.

Not really loving that tactic, seems high pressure to me and dvc is known for their softer approach. I just dont even think thats necessary, but I can see it pushing more people to buy now so as not to miss out, so more sales for dvc.

Or for some, the complete opposite and go with resale or even worse and just walk away all together.
Yes high pressure is a huge turnoff and red flag to me and im sorry but it sounds dumb for the guides to say buy now or you cant buy, I certainly would not believe that or think they lost their minds to lose sales because of a dumb rule new lol

So, I wonder if we will even be able to access the full incentive charts tomorrow like usual or if they're basically going to make you call a guide and start the 7-day clock?

I guess you can use the add-on tool and figure things out for existing members, although I know for CCV this incentive cycle, the add-on tool says, contact your guide for details.
