I am new to the boards but have found them to be useful in helping us decide to finally pull the trigger on DVC. We have traveled to Disney World six times since 2004 and once to Disneyland. We have a growing extended family and plan to travel to WDW at least every other year. What really made us make the jump now is that our oldest son and future daughter-in-law are having their wedding at WDW in the fall of 2020. We just had our offer accepted for 250 resale points at SSR and are waiting for Disney to finish the ROFR. For now, this made sense for us instead of buying direct as we get some discounts due to military retirement and Disney Chase Visa. Will be interesting to see how future restrictions play out, but for now we are excited and happy. Any advice or tips for new DVC owners is appreciated!

You can use your Disney Chase Visa for the down payment. You probably have six months no interest to pay it off. Plus you can get shopping and dining discounts when you pay with your card (not your magic band) and they exceed $50.
