Looking for the Family Fun Mickey Head design

Very cool everyone, I started making mine today so when there done I'll post a picture. I hope to see more tee's.

Has anyone ever done a christmas variation of this shirt? I'm thinking a green or red shirt, with white spray? We're trying to think of something to make for the MVMCP.
We made these for our trip last september and used white shirts, with neon paint, and they were pretty cute.

I made my shirt yesterday - no problem with the flour mixture, but when I spray painted it some BIG BLOBS of paint came out - can anyoine tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I wonder how red and black would look. Either black shirts with red paint or vice versa. Might have to try this.

I am going to. I was thinking of white long sleeved Ts with red & green paint. I'm looking for something to do family photos in.

Hi. I hope I am not repeating a question, but has anyone tried this with sweatshirts? I assume that it works just as well right?

Many thanks,
Linda

I Love this style of shirt, it is on my to-do list for our shirts for our trip next year. I just wanted to give a heads up to people that have issues with the spray fabric paint.

5 years ago for St Patric's Day I made my boys these shirts..

They are not done with the glue or flour but the green and gold is just regular spray paint, I had to wash them like 3 times to make them not smell, but it worked GREAT and the spray paint... 5 years later still looks great :)

I am pretty sure I had gotten the original directions off of FamilyFun.com but I could be wrong? I think when I make our shirts I may try just using regular spray paint for them, and when I saw this thread come up again I thought I'd post it to share with all of you :)

Hello everyone. I just found the site and will do my bext to go back and read everything. I was hoping someone can kind of give me a cheat sheet to how to do something real simple.

We have red shirts for my whole family. I was going to iron on a desigh but no one in the family can agree on one design.

Is their a simple , fun and great looking way to do the spiral mickey head without adding all the other colors? Just something in white or black( not sure how that will show up) .

The last of the badget does not allow for mw to buy the spray paint stuff for the shirts. My store wants almost $7 for each. I need alot of shirts.

Anyways. What can I use or do to get the design on the shirt with just the spirat design no extra color?

Well I made three tshirts and was rather impressed. So I thought I would make two more. I was running out of room for all the shirts so I put them in my dining room. Well, my dogs must have thought they smelled pretty yummy as they started eating the dried flour spirals off the tshirts... ARGH! I had even come up with a cute Pooh head.

Otherwise, I got my paint at Wal-Mart. It was expensive, but they had white for sale (at least I think it was seperate).

Good luck to all and remember to keep the shirts out of the reach of hungry pets!:worship:

I'm going to try to make these for our upcoming trip - I want matching t-shirts, but my DD's are resisting dressing alike.

Oh this sounds like such a cute idea. I have been thinking about making tshirts for FH and I to wear on our honeymoon. At the very least, it would be cool to have something to wear to MNSSHP (If we go)

So I am contemplating tie dye or paint swirls.

For the tie dye I want black and orange, not sure how to do it though. Thats why I started looking at this. I thought I could get an orange shirt and spray on the black :)

Oh and I know this poor thread is old... but I think it deserves some resurrecting.

Hi everyone....First off we can't let this thread die out. In the next week or so I'm going to make my matching shirts for the family. I'll try and post pictures when I'm done.:thumbsup2

WDW1st- Thanks for keeping this thread alive. I would have never seen it! These are cute and simple to make. These would be great for putting in bags I have planned for our crew.

Heads up for anyone interested in making these soon, our local Michaels had the Tulip brand spray paint on clearance today. We are going to try making these tomorrow.

Well after waiting for over 12 hours, the glue on ours finally dried. I probably should have thought and moved them to the room with a fan earlier in the day. We sprayed them this morning and now we get to wait our 72 hours to see how they turned out. If you want to see our work in progress there are pictures on my PTR (linked in siggie). I spent this morning spray painting, and this afternoon tie dying. I am full of color today.

After my 72 hour waiting period was up, I was able to wash these out. They worked!:woohoo: My only regret is that I didn't make any for DS1 or DS2. The 3 little ones are all for DS3. Here are the results.

I also completed some tie dye Mickey shirts the last couple of days and you can see them and the creation process for the painted shirts on my PTR in a few hours (gotta get those kids to bed).

I've conquered the tie-tye Mickey Head and the bleach spray method shirts, so I guess I must attempt these next...much to my DH's dismay. ;)

Are most of you free-handing your Mickey heads? I've practiced on a piece of paper and mine looks horrible. :scared: For those of you who used bowls, did you just trace around the outside of the bowls for placement and then just swirl inside the traced circles? Does anyone have any photos of that early stage?

There is a template somewhere in this thread that I used. I just printed it out after scaling it to what I needed and slid it up under the shirt.
