Looking for Sunblock Recommendations

I am taking my boyfriend (think 12 yr old in a 50 yr old body!), to WDW & he HATES sunblock. He hates how it feels & how it smells. What do you recommend for someone like that? I want an effective sunblock that isn't smelly or feel greasy.

We like Neutrogena, non-greasey and little to smell.

Coppertone Sports 50 SPF is a good one for men. No smell, water resistant, not greasy.

My husband is the same way - it took a friend of ours having a second melanoma scare to convince him to wear any at all. He has used the Neutrogena without much complaint and one by Vichy (EXPENSIVE!) that he prefers.

We use a generic from Target called Up&Up Sport Sunscreen with an arrow on it. We always use 50 SPF. It is a lotion non-greasy with a mild fragrance that fades quickly.

I tried Neutrogena and I got sunburned every time I wore it. And I am religious with reapplying every XX minutes as it states on the bottle. Then I found the generic at Target and works fine.

I use a combination of sun protective (UPF 50+) clothing (long sleeves, long pants), a hat with a wide brim, and then Vanicream sunscreen on the parts not covered by the clothing.

Neutrogena doesn't spread/ blend in well for me. I always end up having white streaks all over me. I usually get spf 75

We use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock Body Mist Spray, SPF 100+ before leaving the room. This is by far my favorite sunscreen; because, it isn't greasy at all. I also find it the most comfortable sunscreen to wear. I have tried so many, and have just stopped trying; because, this one works best for us. I am always disappointed when I try something else.

We take Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face & Body Stick Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 70 to the park with us; because, it is easy to pack and applies quickly. I will say it looks like we are putting deodorant everywhere while applying it lol but I prefer it to the liquid and spray in the parks. Also, doesn't turn white when applied-big plus! I love that it can't spill out in my bag or pocket, that it even fits in a pocket and that it isn't a spray; because, that can be annoying to people around when applying. The only downside to this one is that it is a bit greasy, but not as much as others I have used. This one is a convenience thing combined with high spf broad spectrum.

I too prefer the nutragena, it is a little more expensive. It's also a good one for those fighting acne.. Another alternative are the physical blocks (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) for those that react or for smell but they are going to be a little greasier and it's all I'd use for under a year old.

PSA time. DH used to hate sunblock, but he's paying for it now. Last year he had Melanoma and he's also had Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell,2 other skin cancers. But Melanoma was the worst. His surgeon says it was from his years without sunblock. Now he uses it faithfully whenever he goes out. Beats skin cancer!

Generally, I like the spray on kind. Neutrogena is the best I've found, but I use cheaper stuff, too. And like the person in question, I really don't like sunblock.

Blue Lizard - its a zinc based one. I use it on myself and my very pale daughter. She has never burned in 7 years of using it. It feels and smells different than regular sunscreens and you have to rub it in well. You may end up with a bit of a white film for lack of better word for a little bit (like 30 minutes) but once its absorbed you're fine.
We touch up with neutogena brand sticks for the face and shoulders as we go. But even days I have not done that, we get no more than a light pink tinge that fades that night.

I hate to put chemicals on my body or in my body so I wear a hat and clothing that keeps me cool and still protects me from the sun, clothing made out of linen or light weight cotton. This works for me but I know it would not for some others.

DH and ds got some "for men" banana boat stuff that made my son's face skin feel like it was being burned by the chemicals. I tried it one day and it did the same thing to me. DS and I used to use that "noad" stuff and it was fine for many uses, then one day it did the same burning thing to both of us. Alas we were on castaway cay and we had to buy a very expensive and small bottle of sunscreen on the island.

I hate touching sunblock and getting it all over my hands so I use Neutrogena spray mist. It's light and non-greasy feeling and quick to put on and reapply.

Oh my gosh yes! We got a bunch of bottles of the "for men" stuff at some 5K we did. Score! That's like $30 of free sunscreen. It burned everyone so bad! It was awful- my kids were bawling!
