We are using a standard dining plan for the first time next week. We have a big group traveling but my group is me, DH, DS5, and DD1. Since DD is too young for a plan I am looking for any tips on feeding her using our plan, ie. good ways to share and snacks that can be a meal for a little one.

Also, how do you keep track of what you have used and what you have remaining while on your trip? I wish there was an app or the like but have not found one. I want to try to keep up with our credits during the trip so I can make sure we make the most of them. How you you experienced dining plan users do that?

Thanks in advance for any help for me this novice!

Your receipt will show your credits remaining after every meal.

At buffets, you can feed your 1 yo anything they serve.

Your credits are tracked on your receipts. It'll say how many credits used in that transaction and how many you have left. We typically had my 2 yr old share a meal with my 4 yr old and used a snack credit to supplement with an extra side. Also, with the kids meals at many CS locations you can get 2 sides instead of a side and dessert, then the 2 kids shared my dessert so I didn't have to use a snack credit.

For table service meals we did a lot of buffets and all you can eat meals. This was especially helpful because I had an almost 10 year old too that preferred more adult foods.

You will have no problem feeding your DD! PP's suggestions are all good...share meal with DS, use snack credit to supplement and buffets are the best. Not sure how your DD eats (my DS was not the best eater at 1 yr old:sad2:) But things like yogurt, toast, grapes, bananas etc. are all snack credits, although very cheap and better to pay OOP. You and DH can often get yogurt or fruit as your dessert option at many CS. Kids meals all come with grapes and/or carrots, so your DS will most likely have leftovers. For some reason we always accumulate grapes in our room :confused3. Mac & cheese is on many kids menus and usually a large portion, so perhaps DS would share? That was something my DS LOVED at 1! Also, if there is something she really likes, then don't be afraid to ask for a side of it at a TS. My DS has always loved cucumbers so I STILL ask for a side when we are out. Lastly, cereal is a snack credit, but there are no Cheerios in WDW, so if she is like every other kid and loves her some O's, bring your own!

Thanks for the tips! I am going to bring some snacks of our own so we can use our snack credits to supplement for for DD. She is a good eater and will eat most anything and lots of it. By contrast DS is a light eater. So it may be that she gets the kids meal and he shares with me with a snack supplement sometimes.
