We recently decided to turn our family vacation for four into a second honeymoon for two, and we will be leaving the kids behind. This will be the first time in 12 years that we will be going to Disneyworld with out children.

We have already booked Le Cellier, Italy, Mexico, Kona, Ohana, Whispering Canyon and Hollywood and Vine. All are either lunches or dinner.

I can tell you upfront that we don't like seafood. (Occasionally we will eat fried shrimp, but not enough to justify going to eat at a seafood restaurant)

I was wondering if any one can recommend any other places to eat. We will be on the Deluxe plan, staying at the WL.

My husband commented on our honeymoon (also at the WL) that going to Disney with me was worse than bootcamp (because I had him up at the crack of dawn and then out late and I scheduled every minute of it).

I am hoping for a more relaxed vacation with sleeping in, quality foods and no character meals.

Any recommendations? How is the restaurant in Paris?

Artist Point, the signature at your hotel, is a gem. Great service, good menu.

Chefs de France in Epcot is a solid choice, so long as you keep in mind that it is a brasserie (casual cafe) and not a gourmet French restaurant.

The Captain's Grill (1TS) or the Yachtsman Steakhouse (2TS) are both on my favorites list, both are located at the Yacht Club on the lake between Epcot and DHS.

The Plaza in MK is a pleasant lunch, I've never had a bad experience there and I eat there every trip.

I would suggest you consider Jiko at AKL for a great meal and atmosphere. If you are interested there is also a photopass photographer in the hotel lobby that would be glad to take those 'second honeymoon' photos for you. I also recommend a dinner at California Grill shortly before Wishes so that you can take in the show while you eat or out on the observation deck.

I suggest making a trip over to the Animal Kingdom and visiting any one of the three restaurants there: Jiko and Boma at Jambo House (both African-influenced with Boma being a buffet) and Sanaa at Kidani House (African-Indian seasonings).

The upstairs restaurant in France, Bistro de Paris, is very very good and would be considered a gourmet French restaurant. But it's not on the dining plan; in fact the best restaurants at WDW are not. The restaurant downstairs, Chefs de France, is okay but nothing special.

Since you are staying at WL, I would suggest trying Artist Point. My favorite, non seafood restaurant available on the plan is Citricos at Grand Floridian.

Here is another recommendation for dining at AKL. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food excellent. Even though it is a buffet, the food is great at Boma, and if you get a table along the perimeter of the restaurant it can be romantic too.

I have personally never dined there, but my mom had rave reviews of Trails End at Fort Wilderness. She enjoyed it more that Artist's Point. You can even splurge for a private carriage ride through the campground.

Have a great trip!

Are you keeping your Whispering Canyon ressies? I'd feel a little silly there without the kiddos...

No suggestions - I asked a similar question yesterday - my hubby and I will be there next year without the kids... but we LOVE seafood. :cool1:
