Somehow discussing CRV makes me think it's closer to happening....and soon.
Any takers on the topic? popcorn:: New thoughts or ideas??

I posted this thought on another thread, but...

IF the economy goes into an extended downturn that starts to impact DVC sales what will they do. It seems to me that they are holding this one until they sell a good portion of thier current two "for sale" options. So.... would they finish it and put it on the market cutting into slow sales for the two they are already on the hook for, finish it and turn it into "suites" for Disney to rent until sales pick up, or finish the exterior and not finish the interior until they are ready to move?

I think any of those are options, but I wonder if they would be willing to spread "fewer" customers thinner over three resorts.

I have no idea how the economy slowing would impact DVC, but I think it has too. When people feel "pinched" regardless of thier personal reality they cut back on "extras" and DVC is an extra!

CarolA - hoping that means that the price won't be out of range.

rumor mill says May will be the annoucement! hope so.

go look at the pictures.

I talked with my bellman about DVC when we were leaving and he was talking about the new DVC construction at the Contemporary. It may be the worst kept secret ever. I think the fact that they still have units to sell at SSR and AKL probably keeps them from announcing. CRV is bound to be a popular property with the proximity to the MK.

I read a post recently that 70% of AKV is sold and 90% of SSR at this moment. Can anyone confirm? My HOPE is that when SSR is sold competely, AKV would also be that much further along and they'd announce CRV. :cloud9: Hoping for alot, I know.

Good points, Carol. I wonder if they decided to make CRV cash suites, how would people afford that as well, if what you say about people cutting out xtras in a slower economy is true. Those suites would also be mighty expensive......just trying to rationalize how it just HAS to be a DVC resort! ;)

I think they probably won't announce it until they are ready and able to start selling units.

I believe that a CRV would appeal to a different group of people than either the AKV or the SSR. Everybody buys at different resorts for different reasons. Thank goodness we all have different tastes and we aren't all trying to buy into the same resort.

I'm currently awaiting ROFR on a BWV contract. When and if a CRV is announced I may want to do a small add on there. (OMG I feel a case of addonitis coming on and I haven't even passed ROFR yet.)

I would have to see the points tables and see how many points it would take to vacation at CRV before making up my mind to buy. If the points are too far out of line with the rest of the resorts I would probably pass on buying in.

Conventions!

CR actually has a decent convention business (or at least it used to...) and those folks are on expense accounts!

I am going to go with a whole new theory, even for me. I think that Disney already has a "soft" date for announcing CRV and the only thing that will change this date significantly is construction delays. I don't think they will wait longer than they want, based on the other resorts.

I am sure that they have already forcasted approximate dates for when SSR and probably even AKV will sell out, so this timing isn't a secret to them, like it is to us. I think that Disney has always marched to their own tune and will continue to do so.

We are merely pawns in their game, wondering "when will they announce", while they sit in the boardroom and laugh at all of our speculation. In the meantime everyone will sit and wait. :happytv:

True, but unless you're the president, vp, etc. of your company, I don't think your company is going to put the average employee up in a suite. Again, my hopeful rationalization................

First off i have read all the stuff people have found and yet DVC has made no release of info on this at all . The Rumor is just that Does anyone have any idea how many room the addtion is .

My second Problems is this they released Hi, Akv , before hand too Now I also am aware of the 70 % rule in Fl but it still doesn't make sence that construction has been on going for years now..

Try to look beyyond what your hopes are and look at reality they have not said a peep and even though the ocassional construction worker and staff member may say what people want to hear it is still a addtion to a hotel that needs more room ..

I know that I am going to get flamed and yelled at. I just do not see why they (DVC) would not say it if it was true.. It would be like money in the bank.

I think they will wait as long as they possibly can before they will announce. To me that means waiting at least until they can sell and maybe a little longer if SSR has still not sold out.

Then they will still have 2 WDW DVC's to sell.

Next up, the tree houses at SSR??

That is one word Awsome !!!!!!!!!!!

That is a rumor that is true I had it confirmed and I can not wait!

Of course I have no way of knowing what the points will be, but I believe it's a safe bet they will be high. I believe a new bar will be set with this property. :scared:

More like 70% of Jambo House. They can't start selling Kidani Village until the exterior is 70% complete.

no because some people would not buy at SSR or AKV - but wait for CRV.

the best guess is that 350 villa. that was 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom. but someone else say that all would be 3-bedroom - which I find very, very difficult to understand.

the plans my brother saw - had the top 2 floors - with 3-bedrooms,the rest one bedroom, studios, and 2-bedrooms. forgot to ask how many villas. :upsidedow

the bottom 2 or 4 floors (don't remember) were the restuarants and other stuff.

but someone else says that the restuarant is now going on the top.

already asked him about a place on the roof where DVC members could watch the fireworks - flat NO.

no way for us - dvc members to even access the roof.

so the best views would go to the GV - 3bedrooms on top.

I don't see how the treehouses can be anything but DVC. (but I have no greater info then what's been posted on some other forums)

Depends on what the price is. Also, my company would pay for a room at the Contemporary, or they'd give me a per diem for the CR room and I could pay the difference on getting a suite for my family. If I were taking my family down with me for a convention, getting a convention rate, then having my company reimburse me for half and getting a suite would be a nice deal.

A lot of people with bigger families complain that Disney doesn't have options for them. And the Pop family suites seem to be doing well, but not every family is in the Value category - some families want more.

Family suites on DCL are really expensive, but they book really fast.

And, if Disney creates family suites based off the DVC floorplan, they can always sell them as timeshares if their occupancy projections don't work out. But if you sell them as timeshares, you can't go back and make them family suites.

(I think its DVC myself - but playing devils advocate)

hi crisi - definitely agreed with you.

just because the originally plans say DVC - does not mean that Disney has not changed it mind.

remember the other DVC resorts that never came to be sold.

Until DVC is selling the CRV - it could be something else.

know that Disney does not have enough deluxe suites in the MK area to satisfy the need. So it could go to it.

or DVC and suites could share.

just wishing - dreams do come true - that it is a DVC resort.
