I just booked our Disney World trip for 8/24 - 9/1! It'll be me, my wife and my two girls (6 and 8). I have booked quite a few character meals and some other dining reservations. I guess I'm looking for some dining suggestions from this great community. I always feel like I'm missing out on something by not reviewing all of the places to eat. We are on the Disney Dining Plan so please take that into consideration. We'll be hitting all 4 of the major parks and Downtown Disney for sure. We are staying at CBR. Here are some the the meals we have done in the past...

Rainforest Cafe @ Downtown Disney
Tusker House @ AK
Chef Mickey's @ Contemporary Resort
Mama Melrose @ HS
Princess Royal Table in the castle @ MK
1900 Park Fare (Cinderella Dinner) @ Grand Floridian

I'd love to hear what others might suggest for my family! I guess I'd really like to know about things I'm missing out on. I would love a bunch of non character meals especially!

Fire away!

Thanks for your time!

are:

MK
Cinderella's Royal Table (2 credits) - we have a princess
Crystal Palace - food, characters and nice, light decor
Plaza - simple food that's good and good desserts

Epcot
Biergarten - food and good time when the band is onstage
Restaurant Marrakesh - a little different but not too different
Rose and Crown - has a lot of items I like and it isn't really repetitive with other WDW restaurants
Teppan Edo - we don't usually eat here because we eat at teppanyaki places at home all of the time but kids do like it.

DHS
50s Prime Time - old fashioned food done pretty well and depending on your CM can be very entertaining
Sci Fi Dine In - I grew up going to drive ins so this appeals to my nostalgic (and kitschy) side.

DAK - Yak and Yeti

Resorts

Boma AKL
Ohana Poly
Kona Poly
Beachesand Cream Beach Club

Epcot- Garden Grill. We loved it!! Character interaction is awesome and the food was yummy. Not much variety/choice, but if you like the type of food offered I think you'll enjoy it.
We are going to try Biergarten and San Angel for our next trip...

MK- Crystal Palace. We thought the food was just so-so, but since this is the only spot for Winnie the Pooh and friends it was a must do for us. We'll be skipping it next trip.

HS- Sci-fi...the food reminded us of our local TGIF, but the atmosphere was wonderful!!! We plan on going again next time...

Out of the park- Hoop Dee Doo review- I can't say enough great things about this meal! Everyone in my party loved it- from 66 year olds down to 2 year olds. Food was yummy- and how can you go wrong with unlimited beer and Sangria!! Show was funny and cute, but a bit corny. Just keep that in mind... LOL!!

Our next trip we need to have a meal at CRT...for my princess.

Prime Time- a must do every Trip good food & fun

Teppen Edo- " " " "

We have 2 DDs ages 6 & 8 as well...our favorites:

Tutto Italia
Kona Cafe
Sci Fi
boulangerie patisserie (counter for lunch)
Chefs de France
Yak & Yeti

Resort Dining-Ohana is delicious all you care to eat food and the kids enjoy the music and games!
Beaches and Cream-yummy icecream and the best burgers and onion rings in WDW!

MK-Crystal Palace is fun and one of the best breakfast buffets. If you can get an adr before opening it's great to be in the park before it gets crowded!
(We don't like the lunch here tho)

Epcot-My family favorites are the Rose and Crown and Teppen Edo

We love the Garden Grill in Epcot. Good food and a very relaxing character meal.

In Epcot, I think your family would like Teppan Edo and the Biergarten.

Both are very interactive for families and I think the food is good too!

Here are a few Restaurants that we have enjoyed:

Tony's Town Square--MK--(my DS request this every trip-love the
Lady and the Tramp theme and we've enjoyed our meals we've had.)

Ohanas (breakfast or Dinner)-at POLY
Tutto Italia at Epcot
Sci-Fi at DHS (fun)
Tusker House in AK

What we will be trying:

San Angel Inn at Epcot (nice unique enviroment-Mayan ruins, Smoking Volcano)

Jiko--Different but 2 TS Credits at AKL
Boma for Breakfast (staying at AKL)

Great stuff! Keep the suggestions coming. I have been adding many things based on your feedback. Thanks!

At MK, we enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern for good "home" cooking, and Tony's Town Square for Italian. Both are 1 TS credit. At LTT, everything we had was really delicious. As for QS, Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays are pretty standard fare.

At Epcot, we did the princess character dining at Akershus. The kids loved talking with the face characters, and we enjoyed having a nice meal at the same time. 1 TS credit and it included an 8x10 and 2 5x7s photos with a princess. When we were there we saw Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. For QS, Cantina de San Angel was really good for Mexican food.

At HS, the best meal we had on our entire trip was at Hollywood Brown Derby. Fantastic filet as well as a grapefruit cake. This is a 2 TS credit.

At AK, we only did QS, but the Yak and Yeti Cafe was surprisingly good Asian food.

We also really enjoyed Jiko (2 TS) at Animal Kingdom Lodge for a more sophisticated, "grown-up" meal.

At DTD, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express are both great QS choices.
