Has anyone ever ordered the Birthday Room Decorations for their cruise? If so what are they like and are they worth the $45.00 price tag? Also Has anyone ordered the cake for a birthday, if so is it any good? Should we just ask team to put a candle in a dessert? TIA

I ordered the Christmas decorations one year I still have the magnet but everything has since been disposed of. I know some people save the $$ and decorate the room themselves. I personally would order it again because it was nice coming into the room for the first time and seeing it all decorated.

We just had one of the special order cakes on our Dec 18-24 cruise. I purchased it for my son's 11th birthday. The cake was very nice and tasted good (I got the marble cake with fruit cream filling and chocolate buttercream frosting). I purchased the smallest cake (says it will serve 8-10 people) and shared it with our three other table mates (5 of us in total). We each had a generous slice and still didn't even eat 1/4 of the cake! I gave some away to the surrounding tables and still had 1/2 of the cake left to bring back to our room! The servers don't have any way to box it up (just give it to you on a plate with a cover), and the plate doesn't fit in the fridge. After one day of being unrefrigerated, I decided to throw out what was left.

The cake was lovely, pretty tasty, and we all enjoyed it...just be prepared for the fact that it is HUGE (although, you do get your $ worth, IMO)!

Thanks so much for the replies. I think I will do this then. It is our DS last single digit birthday and possible last DCL for a long while.
So we just want this one to be extra special, and didn't want to lug birthday stuff with us b/c of limited suitcase space.
Thanks again :grouphug:

We just sailed on Dec 28. When we were checking in at PC, The CM remarked, "Oh, it looks like someone just had a birthday." Our son turned 15 on Dec 11 - more than two weeks prior. The CM gave him a "I'm Celebration a Birthday" pin. He wore it and through out the day and CMs wished him happy birthday. Our server noticed it that night and said we would have a celebration on the last night. He asked if we were celebrating anything else. We said "no really" but did jokingly mentioned we celebrated our 20 year aniv in June and my daughter laughingly said she just completed her first semester in college.

Jump ahead to the last night... After deserts were ordered and delivered, the service team marched up and sang happy birthday, delivered the little round chocolate cake to my son, then started singing happy anniversary, gave us cakes and then gave our daughter a cake with sprinkles. She was given a "I'm Celebrating" pin too.
