Hi, this will be my son's first time to disney and it will also be his birthday he is four years old can anyone suggest a resort?

Any of the value resorts would probably thrill him. They are all pretty cool with their over the top and larger than life decor. My kids liked the AS Sports when they were that age. Pop wasn't around, but I think if it was, they would have loved it. If your son likes animals, he may enjoy AKL too. You can't beat the savannah views or watching the animals at night with the night vision goggles. The storytelling and campfire out back is great too. I don't really think you can go wrong with too many of the resorts. The deluxe resorts didn't do much for my kids until they got a bit older. Stormalong Bay at Yacht & Beach Club will make anybody of any age happy though.

Hi :welcome:

This will really depend on how much you want to spend and what ammenities are important to you.

The Value Resorts start @ $82
The Moderate Resorts start @ $149
The Deluxe Resorts start @ $225

All the resorts have themed pools. With each level of upgrade, you'll get a few more ammenties... food courts vs finer restaurants, bus transportation vs monorail or boats, etc.

Disney has "seasons" and the prices can also vary within the same season... weekends, holidays, etc.

Many people feel if they will spend most of their time in the parks, why pay more for a room... stay in the Values. The Values are fun and kids love them.

If you plan to spend more time at the resort or are looking for a little more luxury, try Deluxe.

We have only stayed in Deluxe and Value resorts... (never a moderate, so I can't comment.) For a Deluxe, our favorite is the Beach Club. (Great pool and close to all the Epcot restaurants.) For a Value, our favorite is All Star Movies. (My boys love Toy Story.)

First let me say :welcome: to the Dis. I would suggest one of the monorail resorts (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary), especially if you will be spending alot of time at the Magic Kingdom. Out of those 3, we've only stayed at the Polynesian (which is a FABULOUS resort), but the others are just as convenient (with the Contemporary having a walking path to/from MK) :thumbsup2. The Wilderness Lodge is also beautiful (our second resort of choice after the Poly) and has convenient boat service to the Magic Kingdom ::yes:: (although no monorail). Plus the WL is quite a bit cheaper than the monorail resorts :cutie:. I'm sure you will have a great trip no matter which resort you choose :dance3:. Good luck and happy planning  .

Welcome to the Dis nene1018, Pop would be a great value,POR Would be a great moderate and GF would be a very ideal Deluxe since the next stop is MK.

Have a super trip to the world.

Like others have said, it will mostly depend on your budget and just what you are looking for in the resort. No matter where you stay, you will be at Disney so there is pixie dust pixiedust: and magical vibes all around.:goodvibes That said, the values are great for kids, each with its own theme and larger than life decor. Mosey on over to the resorts board and take a look around and see what interests you and maybe even show your DS some pictures to see what interests him the most.

if you are looking for a value then stay at pop, it is geared around kids, while i prefer a more adult themed hotel, my kids love pop.....

I am moving this to our Resorts Board. :)

:welcome: to the DIS!

Take a look at the photos for the different resorts within your budget and go from there... my kids love Disney movies and loved the AS Movies.

If your son likes Disney movies, I would suggest ASMo. I stayed there with my son on his first Disney trip when he was 3 and he loved it. We've stayed there many times since and he still loves it (he'll be 8 in July). He also likes POP, but ASMo is still his favorite (and mine).

While I would have liked to stay at one of the monorail resorts for convenience (big moola), my 5yr old son absolutely LOVED staying at All Star Movies. Whenever someone asks him about the trip, all he talks about is the hotel.
