Looking for Predictions on DVC Resorts between LSL and 2042

Well now I have much less FOMO
It is a bit pretentious for me, the restaurant would be the perfect set for a bridezilla reality show.

However the food, while pricy, is good, and at my last trip the cake ( Neapolitan) was much better. Each cake layer had a distinct flavor and it was moist, the stabilized Swiss Buttercream icing was not excessive and not too sweet.

My first time the cake had an off taste , but it was right near when they opened.

I would add it to your boardwalk trips.

Can you get a slice of cake to go?

The Bakery is right next to the Restaurant. You can get a slice there, as well as other goodies. They also have some cute stuffed animals and other items.

We had a slice of cake in January for my birthday. It was so hard to choose the flavor that now I can’t remember which one I picked, but it was delicious! And it was so large, it took four adults several days to finish it. I plan to have breakfast there in December.

I have my eye on the raspberry, neapolitan and cookie dough, obv can only choose one 🤣🤣

We have breakfast booked one day and tea booked another. I wanted to do dinner to when I thought it was rare, but I will stick to flying fish this time around

In case it helps, we had one slice there and took once slice to go for sustenance on the cross country flight home the next day. 🤣

Honestly though, the cake deserved better than an in flight dining experience…but it did extend out the magic, a little.

Please PM me a link to your CakeBake tea review if you remember when you publish it. I’m intrigued but really like having flexibility when we’re at WDW in case waits are longer (or lines are shorter!) than we anticipated and “sign a contract in advance” bodes ill for the “we’re just going to do Everest a few more times” game day change-ups.

Yes i dont know what the cancellation policy is, but theyre doing the most with the booking, ofc I'll send you my honest review.

We're going during a hotel change day so I will be there taking my time 🤣

Just my opinion...

Gideon's Cake > Cake Bake Cake

(and it's about 3x less...)

There’s a review of the CBS tea in the CBS thread on the Restaurants forum:
Post in thread 'Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open'
https://www.disboards.com/threads/cake-bake-shop-at-the-boardwalk-is-now-open.3901783/post-65863559

ETA it’s from December, so things might have changed. And elsewhere in that thread it’s stated that the cancellation policy is pretty strict.

I would also say that Gideon's Cake > Gideon's Cookies...
Imo they're both excellent, quintessential vacation/treat foods. I'm happy to indulge in either/both when we can. Sometimes I'm more in the mood for one vs the other. No need to rank 😊

I will say I did have one peanut butter (fluffernutter) cake slice at Gideon's one time where the cake seemed a bit dry. An outlier to all our other experiences though.

Please give me your predictions to the below questions.

1) How many years do you think it will take for Lakeshore Lodge (LSL) to sell out once it goes on sale?
2) How many other resorts do you think DVC will construct at DW after LSL but before 2042?
3) Where do you think additional resorts will be built? Will there be another Epcot resort between now and 2042?
1) Prediction that Lakeshore Lodge will sell out in 7-8 years. Lodge opens in 2027 selling out in 2034 or 2035.
2) Prior to 2042, DVC will plan to construct one more new resort around the EPCOT area. Also predict there will be two or more conversions of existing prosperities to DVC. Maybe something like Grand Floridian refurb from hotel to DVC around the Crescent Lake area hotels.
3) Yes, there will be a new DVC resort around the EPCOT area. Demand is great and will be easy to sale / print money.

Me over here sad I cant even have the cake. I was just thinking of going for FOMO of 1 food option.

We have never made it to Gideon’s (or Disney Springs! 😳) — I do want to try it, but since we usually stay on Crescent Lake (and spend most of our time at EPCOT) the convenience is the deciding factor for me.
Gideon's can be a hard get. There are times you walk by, the line is full and they are on call back and wait is 2-3 hours but if you can get in it's always an experience. We have been managing every other trip. there regular menu is great, the peanut butter cold brew is delicious and the flavor of the month cookie adds a good amount of variety. Not having had them in august yet and with us there I will probably try just for the month cookie.

This is a benefit of staying at SSR if they are on the virtual queue. You can just go back to your unit and when your text comes in, you can just head back over.

If I was more confident that Disney wouldn't pull the rug out with a policy change (or just fail to link my reservations properly), I would consider a couple days at SSR for a water park, golf, and Disney Springs cookies before switching over to a Crescent Lake resort to hit the parks, because by day 3 the LLMP options get a lot better.
