Doing research for a hopeful job offer...towns are Mason and West Chester Ohio. Anyone care to share their opinions good and bad about how these schools are run? We have 2 kids, currently in grades 4 and 8.
Thanks,
Pam

Finfan,
I used to live in Ohio and I think you mean "Lakota" county not "Lakoda." Maybe that will help if you're doing further checking.

I lived in Mason for eight years. They have an excellent school system. The Lakota school is a very large system that also has an excelllent reputation. Be sure to check Ohio Dept. of Ed for other information. PM me for more discussion if you want.

Good luck!

Thanks swanmom, I had a typo....are you familiar with either of those school districts?
Anyone else?

hi there..i live in maineville which is right outside of mason...i used to live in westchester.........my stepsister went through the lakota school district..........it is huge..they have lakota east and west high schools if that says anything to you..........

I live in West Chester and my kids are in lakota school system. Lakota is one of the best and fastest growing school systems in the state. High academia and great extra curricular. Its where all the best teachers want to teach. 9 elem. schools, 4 middle schools, separate freshman building and 2 high schools.

Mason is a great area with a much improved school system. It can now compete with Lakota in most things. Can't go wrong with either.

hope that helps.

i guess i wasnt too specific about anything sorry...we have two teachers that teach for mason on our street and everything i hear about mason it seems to be a very good school district...they just had a couple of new schools built i believe..i know they had a new highschool built...........mason and westchester are both lovely areas to live...they are both growing beyond belief ..but this whole area is .........i dont think that you would have a problem with either of the school districts......i know parents that have children in both districts and there are no problems...

We am currently in a town of 140,000, typical HS graduating class size is 1400-1500 students, we are serviced by 4 public HS. Huge, we are used to. Tax referendums in the millions, we are used to. Did anyone actually LIKE the school systems?Di you or your stepsister feel like the schools are more concerned about school state scores than the students? Please PM me if you'd rather .

Pam
