looking for NYC experts.....................

I went with a group of 10 women a few years ago and we had a blast. The subway was a breeze to use, people were very friendly and helpful, stayed near Times Square, of course saw some theatre, some museums.

That being said, we started with 2 Grey Line Tours, a night one (awesome) and a daytime one, which gave us a great overview of city and gave us ideas of things we might want to go back and spend more time at. Here's a link:

We also loved the Greenwich Village Food Tour, great fun..here's a link

Whatever you decide, have fun!

I am a big fan of Top of the Rock at Rockefellar Center. I think I like it better than the Empire State Building. It was less crowded and we got a really good view of Central Park and the Empire State Building. Have fun! NYC is a blast.

Oh, and if you are into any shopping, don't forget Macy's. The store would take a few days to get through, but I love it!

lots of great ideas so far.......thanks........by the way has anyone ever stayed at The Belvedere (midtown) or the World Center (at ground zero)? we are considering both.

Old Bars Tour Short-List: Old Town Bar, McSorley's, The Ear Inn and P.J. Clarke's. Rooftop Bars Short-List: Hotel Gansevoort, La Birreria, and The Standard Hotel on the Highline Park.

Tell them The Ambassador sent you.

Oh, my gosh! That's where I stayed 8 years ago with 10 friends. It's an older hotel, but we loved it. The service was wonderful, the rooms were a little outdated but very old class nice. I don't know if they've updated the rooms since we were there or not, but I would still not hesitate to stay there again. It was within easy walking distance to Broadway and many restaurants, subway stations weren't too far. Like I had posted earlier we used the subway almost exclusively, the only exception was hiring a limo for our splurge to eat at Tavern on the Green in Central Park (now closed).

Whatever you choose, have fun.:goodvibes

assuming you mean The Belvedere, we were leaning that way for the same reasons you mentioned............pretty sure its the one unless some really big discounts pop up somewhere else.
