Looking for Nov 9th ~ 7 Day Western Magic Cruisers!

Hi all, we are on for Magic 11-9. In fact we started a thread a couple months ago to see who else was going before we noticed this thread was up and running. Glad to see all the Northeasterners on board. We are going to the Wilderness lodge Friday night and driving over. This trip it is just DW and I. No kids! We hope that the recent hurricanes haven't spoiled things of Grand Cayman and Couzamel. We loved both placed when we stopped there on the June Western Cruise. Anybody not already booked for an Couzamel excursion should consider the Fury Catamamarran (sp?) snorkel and beach party. We did it in June and had a total blast! They really knew how to have fun. On the June trip the Dis-ers all were wearing green ribbons and planned to meet by the goofy pool on deck 10 port side at shove off time. Anybody planning the same this trip? If so we'll be there.

Well, spoke to my friend who visited Mexico last week. She stayed at a resort right next to Xcaret. They arrived just as Isadore was moving out so they were still feeling her effects. Their hotel was running on a generator. Anyway, she did not visit Cozumel or Tulum so she wasn't much help. She did say there were a lot of downed trees, ect. However, it didn't sound like there was any structual damage that she noticed. She only snorkled at Xcaret and siad it was good but not great because there wasn't much to see. Oh well, so much for that..

As for my documents, I have no hope. My TA told me I wouldn't get them until a couple of weeks prior to my trip.

P.S. Even my hubby is doing his own countdown at his point. He wasn't too excited about this trip at first since he doesn't really love cruising all that much. He wanted to go to WDW instead but I was ready for a change of pace. He is the type that doesn't get excited about a trip until he is there but he is really hurting for a vacation right now...

In another interesting twist of fate (or fortunes), I just got off the phone with the Hanover Evening Sun. I'm the Media Director for an advertising agency in Lancaster and was talking to them about a current campaign we're running for our client, Bank of Hanover.

Small world.

We leave 5 weeks from tonight. Can't wait.

Hi, I'm WRH3MD's wife. Talk about small world! I just got done reading The Evening Sun and I bank at BOH!

When are you going down? We are leaving on Thursday and staying at Wilderness Lodge on Friday. We make this trip quite a few times a year and every time we go, dh has a count down! He drives us crazy with the details!

Looking forward to this cruise, it's just the 2 of us! We will have to have a York/Lancaster get together. There is a bartender at the Promenade Lounge that makes a wicked "Cosmo". Let us know.

We received our docs about a week or so ago. We booked this cruise when we were on a cruise last October so I don't know if that means anything or not. Have you been on this cruise before? Your 8 yo will love it! We are without kids this trip but ours are older, 26-married, 19-in college, 16-away at school. They absolutely love the cruise. Our son met his girlfriend on one over a year ago. Can't wait to get out of Hanover! Are you originally from here?

We are flying down Friday night and staying at the Fairfield Inn-Airport for $47. Last year, we stayed at the Hyatt and used DCL transportation, but wanted to save a few $$ this time. We're renting a car from Avis (one way). We're going to Magic Kingdom on the day we get back and staying one night at the Polynesian. This is our 5th DCL cruise. We've taken two without our kids (9 & 6).

Glad to hear you both bank at BOH. We handle Bank of Lancaster County, too. They're a nice bunch of people to work with.

This always happens...I start replying to the Dis board and dw starts horning in! You'd think she was the boss of me. A long time ago I bought this little plaque in the shop outside the Pirates of the Carribean: I am the captain of the ship and I have my wife's permission to say so. It is prominantly displayed on the dash of our conversion van. (she lets me drive it) Anyway we are both excited to see all the activity on the board concerning the 11-9 cruise. I, for one, can't wait. The list of details grows and I keep track of all of them. I have OCD I think its called. Obsessive cruise disorder. It's a fun disease to be afflicted with. Anticipation is half the fun. Next item on my agenda is ordering a bottle of champagne which we drink before the safety drill. Tradition. As you can see we're getting pretty excited, too. Wes

We booked our cruise last October while onboard the Magic. I think we haven't gotten our documents yet because we got the air thru DCL, and they don't find out the flights until 30 days before you leave.(Which is coming up soon!). I know DD8 will love it. This is our 3rd DCL cruise. She's counting down the days too.
I have lived in Hanover for about 14 years. I grew up in Gettysburg (not too far away). DM and DB still live in Gettysburg.

Time to dust off all the travel cases.

Hi folks,

I haven’t posted for a while. I’m trying to “tone it down” because we are not sure if we will be going. My MIL is very ill, and in Duke Univ. Hospital in NC. DH and his brothers and sisters have been there since Friday, and are seeing what they can do ~ she has an extensive medical history, and has now been diagnosed with a lung disease where her lungs are only working at 20%, and can only get worse. That along with a 30% working heart, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, diabetes, and kidney problems is what she is facing, and things don’t look good. She is only 69, but has always been in poor health. The Dr’s say she is “walking a tightrope.”

Thank goodness we have trip insurance. Still not sure what we will do. DH keeps saying we will take it day by day, he doesn’t want to cancel just yet. We’ve been planning this trip for so long and don’t know when we would be able to go again.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and send us lots of that Magical Pixie Dust.

I have not been to Cozumel or Cancun, but the consensus has always been that it is not the drink but the ICE....that kills you. My dilemna of course is those FROSTED drinks at Senor' Frogs or Carlos and Charlies, they just aren't very GOOD served warm. How can you trust these places? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
