Looking for Nov 9th ~ 7 Day Western Magic Cruisers!

Chi
My daughters are 6 and 7 and will be in that group. If you want to meet before the kids club so they can get together my girls would be happy to take your daughter around. This is their 3rd cruise on the magic. Let me know.

Chi

Our DS is also 6. (he would say almost 7) This is his 3rd cruise. We plan to go to the ESPN Skybox meet after the lifeboat drill - at least for a short time. Our kids are anxious to dance with Mickey at the Sailaway Party!

Woo Hoo!! The countdown is in the teens now. I really need to start getting ready. Haven't filled out documents, haven't started packing, haven't gotten luggage out of storage, but I did buy an over the door shoe holder!!:)

Have a great week!

Bonnie:)

Back from the sea with tales to tell! Mostly of the ones that did not get away:)

First the bad news, no tuna hitting yet:( , But boy did we hit the Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) and the King Mackeral. 280 pounds to be exact. The first of which were consumed on the grill last night.

We did lose a sail fish that was on for a very short time. Saw a ton of porpoise, a logger head turtle and lots of SHARKS. One of our King fish that was about 4 ft long came in with only his head. Someone was hungry. Most of the sharks we actually saw were called spinner sharks. They jump into the air and spin side over side. Quite a sight. Let me know if you want to see a few pictures and I can email them direct.

Patty, I'll have to answer those key questions later today. Sounds like the life boat drill will be interesting.

Let the count down continue.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

All the Best
Bob

Bob-

Sorry about the tuna, but glad you had a good trip!

Isn't Dolphin fishing fun??? They're so beautiful while they're in the water.

Sounds like your freezer is full. We actually learned a neat recipe for Fish en Pappilliotte (fish in paper -or foil) at the Art of Entertaining series on a previous cruise. Let me know if you want it and I'll email it to you. It works nicely with dolphin.

Linda

Absolutely Linda, please send it my way. The Dolphin were lots of fun, but the King fish were better fighters. I did land one nice Bull dolphin that jumped like crazy.

Thanks,
Bob

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. We've only done the day long, close to shore bottom fishing on the Oregon Coast but had a wonderful time. Guy would love to do a longer trip sometime.
Well, i've got to run some errands and make some calls. I will talk to you all soon........

smiles Patty

I'd never heard of Fairvilla's before our last cruise, but, one of our fellow cruisers managed to announce it-

In the parking lot of the Radisson at the Port is Fairvilla's. It is supposed to be the Worlds Largest Adult Store.......:smooth:
Of course all of us women on my last cruise, talked about leaving DH's behind and making an adventurous shopping trip to Fairvilla's, but we never did. :earseek: So just in case any of you forgot your favorite thong :earseek:, Lingerie :earseek:, etc...etc...etc... You can always make a mad dash to Fairvilla's to get it. :smooth: And if you can't make it to the one in the port......
I saw on their website that they have a new store in Key West.....

smiles Patty

Thanks for the info re Fairvilla. It's always good to know the really important stuff. Can't have too many thongs! We will definitely seek out the place. I'll tell dw at the last minute and surprise her. On a more serious note, where can one find snorkel gear to purchase prior to going to check in? We will be in Wilderness Lodge Friday night so we can squeeze in some MK time and have dinner at Japan in Epcot. Saturday we head for the Port. We will definitely leave a little earlier to purchase some snorkel gear (and now Fairvillas). Some might think I have my priorities reversed. (ie. Fairvillas first then snorkel gear!) But alas we never cruise without the proper gear:earseek:
BTW, I would be happy to host the First DCL Invitational Last Man (or Woman) Standing Contest. Let the Cosmos begin1:crazy: Wes (and Debbie)

Gee Bob -- you didn’t confuse your answers for questions 9 & 10 did you???

Wes/Debbie - I may take you up on the "challenge!" That's a great question about the snorkle gear - if you don't get a reply here - maybe a new thread would be a good idea - Dave or Shirley would probably have an answer! If I get a chance I'll post one - or - you can if you haven't already --

Just a quick check of the board on my lunch break -- don't know about a visit to "Fairvilla's" we will have the DS's with us - but to the rest of you - have fun!

Take care all,
Sher

I had to go back and see what you were talking about.

Way Too Funny, That must be why batteries come in all different sizes. ;) Ok back to PG...

Hope all is well and you guys are getting ready for your train trip.
Looking forward to our ESPN club get together.

All the Best,
Bob

Wes and Debbie- You may want to check a local sporting goods store. Not sure what stores you have in PA. We bought some last year at Costco, they appeared to be nice sets, but both of them leaked at the union and my GOD, that salt water is nasty tasting. The stuff the kids rented at Castaway Cay was much better, and it was pretty cheap stuff too. Most of that stuff is probably on clearance now at sporting goods stores. We packed our stuff in the bottom of our suitcase, the stuff packed really flat.
If you don't have time, I would suggest Ron Jon's surf shop. They are open 24 hrs a day.
http://www.ronjons.com/ They are located in Cocoa beach.

We got an email from Marian at Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel tonight saying that four spots opened up for the Dolphin Swim!! We had booked the Dolphin Encounter through DCL, but I'll cancel that now. I was beginning to think we weren't going to get to go. We've been waitlisted for a couple months.

I don't know when we'll tell the kids about it. We are keeping this part of the trip a surprise.

We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that the price also includes our admission to Chankanaab Park and the Sea Lion Show!

I posted a new thread with all my Chankanaab questions. I'm getting really excited...

Linda

How cool is that! I guess waiting does pay off...!

UGH! What dreary morning. Got up to POURING rain. Ran the kids to school and my project of the day was SHAMPOOING carpets! But, I've got a real Dilemna. Tannerman! I don't want to shampoo carpets when it is wet and muddy outside and Tannerman the yellow lab is going to want to go- IN and OUT and IN and OUT.....
And I'd feel like such a bad mom if I just kicked him out. Actually the NEW HOT TUB out back is looking rather INVITING!!! What would DH say. I've got absolutely NO time in the world to get anything accomplished. DH's older son will be here for 3 days on Thursday, on a drive across the country from San Jose to New Hampshire. Time to Cruise day is Counting down. I've been staring at suitcases for 1 week now. But, haven't even begun to pack.
Check back with you all later.........
smiles Patty

The issue about battery sizes is actually important because of the paucity of batteries on the ship! Like the other items mentioned above, one can't have too many batteries (for camerasd and CD players etc.) Thanks for the mention of Ron Jons. We went there precruise a year ago and got some great last minute stuff. We will try to do that if the local gear is not up to standard. TTYL. Wes:smooth:

Sounds like you got your packing list in order........

1. Booze
2. Batteries
3. Beer
4. more batteries

smiles Patty
