These are some of the places we are thinking of dining on our next trip. (Yes, it's really far away, but I love planning and researching, so I'm getting opinions now.)

I would love your opinions. I do think we are a bit heavy on Epcot restaurants, so we could probably lose a few of those. I probably need to eliminate 5 of them.

• Akershus (breakfast?) - (2009) Breakfast was very good. The hot foods plate was great and the cold buffet was also very good. Characters here were excellent, and the included photo package (at least as of 2009, not sure if it's still included) was a good extra value. Definitely worth it if you have a little (or not so little ) princess fanatic around.
• Coral Reef - Planning lunch here this year. Looks pretty good
• Sci-fi Dine In - Lunch 2010 - Lunch was alright, nothing spectacular, far from horrible (though the cake on my dessert was a bit overcooked). Atmosphere and themeing is incredible though.
• Tusker House (breakfast?) - (2010 and 2011). Very good food, very good characters. Very good value if off the dining plan (one of the cheapest character meals at the world).
• 1900 Park Fare (breakfast? - I actually have been, but hubby hasn't) - (2009) Breakfast here was just alright. Could have been an off day though. Characters were good, though Mad Hatter was under the weather so Snow White took his place (and she wasn't a very good one). I'd try this again though, as every restaurant can have an off day or two.

That's all I've been to (or planning on going to next trip) from the list, so this isn't entirely helpful, but... hey it's something!

Teppan Edo: Is a Family tradition for us. We LOVE it... but we don't have a Beni Hana nearby.... so I've heard some folks get disappointed that it is much like that.
However we've had lunch there around 10x ...One thing I LOVE is just having a nice break to sit down and be entertained plus yummy food... it really is a great family experience...

Y&Y : DS18 and I had lunch there in May and we loved it... I LOVED the atmosphere... and in fact we both took turns walking around the restaurant to see all the neat items... The food I would compare to PF Changs... the lettuce wraps good.. tuna appy delicious... was a bit disappointed in tempura green beans... and the Broccoli Beef was absolutely delicious !

Cape May Dinner: We've had dinner at Cape May about 3 times....only because we were staying at BC.... We all left full... and family is very picky so that's a lot to be said... however I have never thought of Cape May as a "Destination" restaurant.... I actually compare to H&V which gets a bad rap on Disboards ... Albeit we did dine at Cape May prior to crab legs....

H&V Being said... I would highly recommend that if you plan on seeing Fantasmic ! That you plan a Fantasmic Dining Experience. I've done H&V & HBD... but MM is also an option...

Coral Reef - LOVED IT!! It was where mom and I ate on our arrival day last September and it turned out to be one of our favorite meals of the trip. We both had steak and I had the cheesecake for dessert and it was one of my favorite desserts of the trip...nice and light. All of the food was great...server was just okay...but we were seated at the back of the restaurant with a full view of the tank...but it was nice and quiet. Definitely highly recommend.

Nine Dragons - This is a tradition for my family. We usually do it for lunch at Epcot. Last September mom and I did it for dinner and watched Illuminations from there. They pipe in the music. Food is pretty good...but better for lunch than dinner in my opinion.

Sci-Fi Dine In- If you are a fan of B-movies...then this is the place for you...lol! I try to go here every trip. Food is just okay so if you're looking for GREAT food then this isn't the place...but it is SO cool. Sitting in a car...watching trailers for old B-movies with the occassional cartoon thrown in. So much fun.

Yak and Yeti - Ate here for lunch in September. Server tied for best with Jiko server in my opinion. We were there for lunch almost at their opening and it was SUPER quiet...so maybe that was why the service was so great. I'm not sure...but the server was really good. The food was good too. I had Ribs and the fried wontons for dessert. I'm not a big dessert person but I would recommend these to anyone.

Not sure how much that helps...but those are the only ones I can speak to from personal experience. Hope you have a great vacation!!

We just went last month and experienced a few of the restaurants on your list.

Chefs de France-We ate there for supper at around 5pm. Remy came out with a wonderful, funny maitre'd. This just made a great meal, go over the top for a magical experience! We had excellent food and a very great waitress. We will be eating here again.

Garden Grill-We had a great meal here too. We were picked to be the first family and had our picture taken with our camera with all the characters! We have eaten here 2 times in the past and loved every meal. Our server was very good.

Teppan Edo-We ate supper here for our last meal of our vacation. I can say we were blown away from the show, atmosphere and tasty food. This was our first meal here and we don't have one of these types of restaurants close to us. We will be eating here again. We ordered the chicken and steak combo and they grilled us up a full chicken breast and a good size steak too. We had a great waitress and excellent chef who was very humorous.

Tusker House-We ate breakfast here. We ate here back in 2009 too. It is consistently good tasting food and service. The characters were fun and interactive.

'Ohana-We ate breakfast here. We did not enjoy it as much as we did in 2009. The service here was bad, bad, bad. The characters were wonderful. The food was ok but I wish we would have eaten elsewhere. It was a good thing we received free dining or I would have felt I paid for something that was this bad except for the characters.

Cape May-We had supper here. It was not as great as we remembered it from 2009. The service was great but the food was just ok. I also had a string in one of my buns - that was unappetizing. We brought it to the attention of our server who immediately told a manager. The manager came over and said she would give me my meal for free. Since it was just a string from a flour bag (they had to investigate it first) and we had free dining we were ok from it. I didn't die or was hurt in any way so that was ok. I liked the offer of a free meal. Even though the service was stellar we won't be coming back for some time as we felt we have done it twice and time to move on. I would look at the menus and if there is a different restaurant to think of something else. This is just my one opinion.

Back in 2009 we ate at Coral Reef and 'Ohana for supper. They were so bad tasting and bad service we won't be back for a very long time. This again is just my opinion.

All others I haven't been to.

We dined at Boma on our last trip and Jiko is on our list. We want to do the DxDP, so I have a separate list of 2TS restaurants...and Jiko is on that.


Thanks to all for your reviews/opinions...please keep them coming. There is just hubby and I, no kids, but we fully enjoy the Disney experience because we are 6 year olds trapped inside 40 year old bodies.

Nine Dragons: Just tried this a couple trips ago. I liked it a lot. I got the Honey Chicken and it tasted very delicious. I was actually able to make this at home as well and it turned out the same.
Teppan Edo: Great atmosphere and good food. Nice to kind of have a show while you are eating, very fun for all ages.
Sci-fi Dine In: Love this place. Food isn't the best ever, but the atmosphere is very cool. Especially when you get to sit in the cars.
Tusker House (breakfast): Love this place for breakfast. Good character interaction and great food. Will say though, seems to be really hard to get a reservation here.
1900 Park Fare (breakfast): Again love this place. I am a big breakfast buffet fan at Disney (probably my favorite meal in general).
Ohana: For dinner this place is great. I haven't been in a bit of time, but if you time it right and go during the fireworks at MK it is fantastic. Games for the kids during dinner is nice as well and food has been great every time I have gone.
Cape May Cafe (breakfast): Second fav breakfast in all of Disney. Love the theming and great character interaction. Food is fantastic as well. My fav is CP at MK and if we can't get that we always come to Cape May!

Sci-Fi Dine-in: THe atmospher is great so if you've never been you should go once. But the food isn't great.
Le Chefs de France: We always eat here. Lunch is especially great. The quiche and the cocktails and the croque monsieur all fantastic. And we saw Remy
1900 Park Fare: Well it's a character breakfast so it's hectic. But the food's great.
Tutto Italia: Skip it. We've been a couple times, didn't enjoy it, now we skip it.

Coral Reef- Everyone loved it, fish tank was awesome and the food was great. Service was a little spotty but they were busy. Probably not going to go again because it wasn't a stellar meal and we have so many more places to try but it was worth going once for us.

Garden Grill- I really loved the beef here, it was one of my favorite dishes our whole trip. Spinning room actually made hubby a little quesy which was shocking because I'm the one that gets sick and you could barely tell you were moving. So we won't go back even though I want to.

Ohana- One of our favorite restuarants. We have done breakfast and dinner. Absoultly love it. Breakfast is a must do for every trip. Breakfast wins hands down over dinner though but we enjoyed watching the electric water show from our table, we were given an awesome seat in the corner with a great view of MK and the lake.

Cape May Cafe (breakfast and/or dinner)- We have done both, loved both and would go back again. Dinner was an absolute fav in our group. Breakfast was good, we picked it since it was cheaper than some others. We had wonderful character interaction there for my mother in law's 60th bday. If on dining plan we probably would not do breakfast again or we would pay out of pocket but would do dinner again in a heartbeat.

We've been to:

Chefs de France- Crowded tables, and food was ok- nothing spectacular (I really didn't care for the mac n cheese that I got, but might have just been a bad choice on my part.) Service was excellent. I wish we had gone when Remy was appearing, but we went on a Sunday.

Coral Reef- This was a favorite of ours...but not the last time we went. All 3 of the adults in our group ordered something different and all 3 were disappointed (they were all fish entrees.) Its also disappointing that they don't have divers with signs, etc entertaining anymore. Service wasn't good...probably the most disappointing meal (June 2010.) Hope it goes back...the atmosphere is great.

Teppan Edo- Very good all around, but not much different than hibachi restaurants they have everywhere. If you don't have one locally, its definitely worth it.

Ohana- (dinner-) Lots of fun with entertainment for kids...the food is pretty good, the dessert is my favorite food in WDW!

We loved breakfast at Tusker House. Liked the variety of food, setting, and character interaction. We were not impressed with breakfast at Cape May. We felt it had a very boring selection of food and nothing special.

I can't say that there are any that you should cross off the list...but if you need help narrowing it down I would look at all the reviews and ask yourself a could of questions:

1. What is most important: The food or the total experience?

2. What parks are you going to be at?

3. Is there anything that you get a lot of at home that you feel you could skip on vacation (like chinease, japanease, mexican, sea food, etc)?

4. Look at the menus and see if there's anything on there that you REALLY want to try or eat and if the food will fit everyone's needs.

That's the best advice I can give you to help narrow it down.

Akershus (breakfast?)-This one we enjoy, its fun to get to see the princesses, but the food is served family style and there is a buffet, I'm 23 and a very picky eater and I normally have problems finding things to eat hear.
Chefs de France-I would love a review on this one too because we are going there on our upcoming trip
Coral Reef-I will never eat hear again because my food I had was not very well cooked, and the service was really crappy.
Garden Grill-We LOVE this one, it's good food and the atmosphere is fun. We like the normal "Thanksgiving" food, the food is all very well prepared, it reminds me of Liberty Tree Tavern.
Nine Dragons-Never been
Teppan Edo-We like this one too, food is good and is really fun watching the cook.
Tutto Italia-Never been hear
Tokyo Dining-This one was ok, but I probably wouldn't eat hear again
Sci-fi Dine In-Great atmosphere, it's fun sitting in the car eating lunch/dinner while watching old video clips, food is mediocre
Tusker House (breakfast?)-Never been
Yak & Yeti (table service)-WE LOVE THIS RESTAURANT, and not for the main course, for the fried green beans, but the other food is good also.
1900 Park Fare (breakfast? - I actually have been, but hubby hasn't)
Ohana-Breakfast or dinner? We always do breakfast hear because Stitch is my favorite character and the food is surprislingly good. We haven't been for dinner yet but have an ADR for it in May.
Cape May Cafe (breakfast and/or dinner)-We had breakfast hear, one of my favorite breakfast buffets and the characters are all in their beach wear.

I know I have read at least 1 trip report with a Chefs review. It originally wasn't on my list and then I read that review (and possibly a couple more) and I had to add it.

I seem to have an easier time adding than taking things off.

Cross off the list. Well, if it were me (and it's not so this may not be helpful ). I would cross off Nine Dragons, Teppan Edo, and Tokyo Dining simply because Chinese and Japanese and hibachi are available to me in my every day life. I would cross off Tutto Italia because I've never had an enjoyable meal there. I'd cross off Garden Grill because I've seen quite a few bad reviews.
