We will be eating a light breakfast in the room and then heading to the parks.
I have a couple of late dinners planned (7:00pm) so I want to make sure that our counter service meals(lunch) are plentiful.

Can someone please suggest counter service restaurants that serve larger portions in MK, Epcot and MGM?

Thanks!
Donna

In Cosmic rays at the MK there is a chicken and rib combo that is alot of food. It is a good way to make the best use out of your cs credits.

The roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and a veggie at AK was pretty large IMOP. At MGM the Pizza Planet had a pizza/salad combo meal which no one in our party could finish and I think that they added the same thing to the menu at MK's Pinochio.

We just returned from WDW and our favorite cs lunch was a Pecos Bill in MK. The food was awesome and the portions very large. The burgers were delicious and the fixin bar was fabulous. I could'nt believe they served real sauteed mushrooms and onions. I am not a chocolate or peanut butter fan and was rather disappointed that the only dessert they offered was peanut-butter brownies. However, I took one bite and decided that it was one of the best things I'd ever tasted. All seven of us loved it.

MK: Cosmic Rays - don't remember exactly what DH & DS had, but it was alot of food!

MGM: As someone earlier mentioned, Toy Story Pizza Planet has a pizza/salad combo, plus a very large (and yummy) cookie

Epcot: DD had a chicken schwarma platter at Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. Lots of food, and she enjoyed it!

AK: Flame Tree Barbeque had a 1/2 chicken platter with 2 sides that was very good. For dessert, we got a 12oz. frozen lemonade (not the kind you drink, but more like a sherbet) that was great in the 95 degree heat!

Our trip in May was our 6th time in WDW, but the first time we ever tried Pecos Bill's - it's terrific. DH had a great cheeseburger platter, and I had the pulled pork sandwich platter, which came with beans, and I took the carrots instead of fries (shared DH's fries because there were so many). That pulled pork sandwich was as good as the ones I tried in Nashville, I tell ya! :thumbsup2

From what I've seen, most of the CS places offer very large portions.

:sunny:

Try Sunshine Seasons at epcot living with the land.

Tusker house chicken sandwich and fries is huge!

MK-Pecos Bills HUGE burgers and huge toppings bar;Cosmic Rays-Huge wraps and big portion chicken and rib meals

MGM-Pizza planet I was only able to eat half my pizza and my salad

EP- I would defanitely go to the Land or we were pretty full after our lunch at the Mexican Cantina..
AK-try a turkey leg..HUGE!

MK-Another plug for Cosmic Ray's chicken and rib meal. It's huge and a great bargain for 1 CS. (My DW and I will probably share it next time.)

AK-Flame tree BBQ's rib meal is well-portioned. Just watch out for those ducks!

bump - anyone know of a big portion place NOT in a park...we want to stretch our first CS when we land that night but without using a day on our tickets.

The Backlot EXpress in MGM has a huge turkey and swiss sandwhich with fries that is HUGE and very tastey as well.

I haven't been there yet, but I've heard portions are really good at Wolfgang Puck Express in the Downtown Disney Marketplace. I've also heard that portions are good at Earl of Sandwich.

If you don't want to enter a park try Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. We were all starving after we got off the plane and arrived at WDW. We first stopped at E of S. It was very good and the portions are large. I couldn't finish my regular sub. Wolfgang Puck Express at DD is another option. They are both on the DDP.

I think the idea of portion sizes is relative. People have posted about not being able to finish the pizza/salad combo at MGM. I finished all of my pizza, salad and cookie. I had enough, but this would not have been a good meal for my son and I to share.

We did share at Columbia Harbor House and it only seemed like enough food because I ordered an additional side of cole slaw and limited myself on the fries.

At Pecos Bills, the double cheesburger was definitely enough, but only because I loaded up with stuff from the fixin's bar.

All these meals were shared between myself and my 10 yr old.

ITA. It really depends on what you eat at home. For me, I thought EOS in DTD had reasonable portions (I had a wrap once and a salad the next time) but I didn't leave the meal totally stuffed. I'm not a big eater really, but it depends on the food as well. A real hamburger would fill me up, but McDonalds is another story. I was also thinking that my dh and I could find some places to share cs and stretch our credits to cover a few breakfasts so I'm glad to get some perspective. I would think some of the things mentioned would definitely be enough for both of us, but I doubt we'd be full after eating a wrap, lol :rotfl:

Well the CSR resorts PEPPER MARKET can give very generous portions depending on the items you choose.
