With the parks closing at 7 the week that we are there, we plan on doing some late dinners, but would like to consider doing the movie night. How does it work, what time does it begin, does it need PS reservations, cost, etc. Thanks:)

"A camfire and sing-along are held nightly (times vary depending on the season) near the Meadow Trading Post and Bike Barn at Fort Wilderness Campground. Chip'n' Dale lead the songs, and two Disney films are shown afterward. The program is free and open to resort guests. For a Schedule, call (407) 824-2788."

I can't say I've been, but it's on they list for next trip.

We went Sept 2000. It was raining at the time of the campfire, no Chip and Dale, even though I called ahead to ask. One woman was there singing with a guitar.

The movie playing was Mary Poppins, which I love and my kids don't :( . They have a snack place there and I think just chairs out in the grass.

My youngest was getting eaten alive by mosquitos, so we left.
We were staying at the cabins, I'm not sure I would bother otherwise.

I've been to the campfire show many times. Chip and Dale come out with a singer, they do fun sing along songs. Then they have cartoons, and then the feature film. The camping forum would have more information about which movie and what time as you get closer. They'll be happy to answer your questions. It may not be as exciting as other things, but it is free, and it is everynight (weather permitting). Bug spray might not be a bad idea. Also, there arern't any "chairs", their are bleachers and log benches. Blankets are welcome! No reservations necessary! Ren

We went in October when we were staying at WL. I didn't want to go at first and my entire family ended up loving it.

The mosquitos weren't bad at that time but we all had hooded sweatshirts and pants on. It wasn't cold, we were just cozy.

We sat in a bleacher type seating. Chip and Dale took pictures with the kids, a lady sang and played guitar and we all sang along. It was all free.

We did buy a little "smores" kit-a mini box of grand crackers, some big marshmallows and two chocolate bars and it didn't cost more than $4 or $6. They also had popcorn, soda, etc.

It was all very laid back and relaxing and the best part was when my son turned to me and said "I love these delicious hot "schmos"-Buzz Lightyear refers to this in Toy Story 2. It was really cute.

I forgot to mention that they did give us two pronged things to roast marshmallows with.

Also, taking bug spray wouldn't be a bad idea even though we didn't have a problem with it.

This makes for a fun evening. If you are driving you will need to park at the checkin area of FW and take the bus back to the meadows trading area. It is a short walk from here.
