I might have to sell one of my contracts but I am still paying on the loan. Does anyone here know if you can sell back a contract to Disney if you are still paying on it? and how much is Disney buying it back for?
I have points that I bought for my sister and she is now having problems and can't afford the loan anymore. I am still paying on a loan myself so I really can't take over the payments of her loan. So will I be able to sell back her loan and will it cause a problem for me when I go to buy more points later down the line?

My other option I am thinking is renting the points out and using the money to pay the loan in advance a couple of months and see if by then I can keep the loan myself.

So my next question is, is it hard to rent out the points if you never did it before. I have read the guide lines on the renting board and it seems like I might have a problem with people trusting someone new.

I know it is hard to trust someone you don't know and I understand all the concern. I would do whatever they needed to feel at ease with the transaction.

So can anyone help me with both of my questions?

Thank You, Maria

Some have reported Disney purchasing a contract, but it has been at a very low price (around $55 and even then - they will not always buy back a contract). I'd suggest contacting one the resale brokers (The Timeshare Store is a DIS sponsor) to see if they can assist.

Any mortgage will need to be paid off before closing can occur, but it can be paid at closing using funds from the sale.

Another option would be to keep the contract and try to rent the points, but that does involve some continued effort.

Good luck with your decision. :)

I did hear Disney buys back at a lower price. I would consider renting the points, I just don't know if it is a easy as I think it will be. I really hate to give up the points. Do I just say I have this amount of points for sale and when someone contacts me I make reservations for them when they want to go?
Why would Disney not buy the points back? do they always turn you down? Is there some guide lines they have to follow? If I decided to sell them the price is not a problem for me. I would just hope they didn't hold it against me when I would purchase points again at a later time.

Thank You for responding, WebmasterDoc
