Looking for inexpensive hotel near Pop Century

We are currently booked for 8/14-8/23. I'm debating changing it to 8/18-8/26 (if that is even possible) because I saw that the projected crowd levels and resort price drop for that time frame.

For both sets of dates, the DoubleTree Suites Lake Buena Vista has a fantastic rate of $86/night through a discount available through the Disney Springs Hotels marketing website. This rate is for 2 adults in a suite with two queen beds. The standard rate is $115, so that's a $29/night savings.

(Note: The promo says "Special Spring Deals from $119!", but it prices out cheaper.)

I'm a huge fan of the DoubleTree Suites. All rooms are 540-square feet suites. That's twice as large as the 260-square foot rooms at Disney's Pop Century Resort. Other perks of the DoubleTree Suites:
  • Free Scheduled transportation to Disney Parks every 30 minutes. (Your party can meet you at a park or split up without worrying about transportation back to their hotel.)
  • Walking distance to (cheap) non-Disney food: McDonald's, Perkins, Taco Bell, Sweet Tomatoes, TGI Fridays, etc.
  • Roughly 20 minutes walking to the Marketplace area of Disney Springs. Free shuttle bus to Disney Springs after 6pm.
  • Ability to earn frequent guest points as part of the Hilton HHonors program. Nine nights at $86 would earn about 11,000 points. Many hotels offer free nights starting at 20,000 points.
  • Like Disney Resorts, there is no resort fee. (There is a parking fee of $17/night. If you drive from your resort, it's very easy to pick up people at the DoubleTree Suites. There are several free short-term parking spaces available.)
Getting from Disney's Pop Century Resort to the Disney Springs hotels is fairly easy. It's two right turns with easy signage. Link to map: http://binged.it/28YqflT

For comparison, here are rates for August 14-23 for two adults for some of the hotels that HopperFan has recommended. (Note: Some hotels change rates during a stay. The quoted rates is the average for the full nine nights. Most rates are for Hilton HHonors members. Hilton HHonors is free to join and gives you free in-room internet access.)
  • Buena Vista Palace: $80/night
  • Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista: $90/night
  • Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista South: $89/night or $74/night non-refundable
  • Hilton Garden Inn Lake Buena Vista: $86/night

Wow! You guys are great! Thank you so much for all the extremely helpful info.

I booked the free dining promo at Pop Century for myself, DD13, my adult DD and her BF. I plan on booking a second room for DD and her BF just to sleep in.

We are driving to Fla so we will have a car and they will meet us at PC each morning, park there and join us for the day then back to the other hotel to sleep.

I may end up just booking a second room at Pop(Is that even allowed?)but I'm hoping there may be a less inexpensive place nearby.

The hotel doesnt need to be fancy,,,,just clean and safe!

Hilton Bonnet Creek is nearby & has great reviews for a reasonable price.
