Looking for ideas for a non-disney day?

Looks like we'll have an extra day to something non-disney. Anyone have any ideas? We are going on a Disney cruise after our WDW tour so going to the coast is going to happen then. Any other ideas?

How far are you willing to drive?

I would check out Highlands Hammock if you don't mind an hours and a half's drive. State park with nice trails and boardwalks. If that is too far, try Silver Springs or Blue Springs. If you are not looking to go far I would go check out Downtown Orlando and Winter Park.

we usually have a few 'non-disney' days. malls, water parks, beaches are the usual bunch and couple of extras like..
Gatorland - was a really good park for the kids and adults!
Daytona Speedway - if you're into cars and dont mind the journey.. we always go to Daytona beach in the morning followed by speedway in the afternoon!
Kennedey Space Centre - if you're into that sort of thing!
helicopter tours - reasonable prices if you're not scared like me!!

i'm sure theres LOADS of non-disney but i cant think now!!!!

Family of 5 went to gaterland it is was one of the highlights of our last trip. Also Mid evil times dinner/show was a lot of fun.

Our non Disney day will be spent in the Tampa area taking in a spring training baseball game. I plan to hit the beach too since the game is in the evening.

we also love the Old Town in Kissimmee. theres a fun fair for the kids, loads of small shops, bars etc. and a car cruise of old and custom cars on fridays and saturday nights.
my fav is the "old town portrait gallery" for some old fashioned pics of the kids (they love getting dressed like cowboys and victorian princesses!)
