Which do you like and why? I finally accept the diagnosis and want information. When I asked the psych for her recommendation, her reply was that there is nothing out there for a child like Ciara. Karen

If you are looking for other parents experiences, you might want to check with your local Autism society library or Parent information center. If you want to really understand the core of the Autism genetics, separate from other issues which are having an impact the book that I always recommend about higher functioning kids will give you a lot of insight and allow you to focus in on the Autism characteristics where current supports can make such a difference for our kids.

It is the complete guide to Aspergers by Tony Attwood. Most libraries have it and if not it is available on amazon for about $17.

A book that I really like is "Quirky yes, hopeless, no: Practical Tips to Help Your Child with Asperger's Syndrome Be More Socially Accepted" by Cynthia La Brie Norall.

My DS 19 was diagnosed about 18 months ago and this book helped me understand how he views the world. The books is alphabetized by issues (i.e. anger, anxiety, etc.) and offers a lot of informative tips.
