Hi - Does anyone have any suggestions for fun TS restaurants for a 7 year old. We have done quite a few character meals so we do know what those are all about. I'm just looking for a place that does something neat/extra for children. For example, we ate at Coral Reef a few trips back and my daughter loved creating her own cupcake (or sundae). Thanks.

50's prime time (MGM)
Whispering canyon cafe

your description gives me the impression that she would enjoy Boma (it's more "adventurous", & you can take her to see the wildlife at the resort before/after)
hth :)

we let our DD (7 1/2) pick our ADR's this time......

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Coral Reef
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sci Fi Dine In
Chef Mickey
1900 Park Fare (Breakfast and dinner)
CRT
Boma's (well this one was DH's) but she's excited to try it!

Boma would be my suggestion too. A trip to AKL is an adventure and neat experience all unto itself. The Dinner Buffet has something for everyone. The basic kid items as well as some ethnic inspired dishes.

We loved Narcoossee's for the food, service, Electric Water parade view as well as the Wishes viewing from the dock.

We did Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic package. If you want to do that I can vouch for this place. Not an adventurous or amazing menu, but good food and a casual atmosphere. We put orange soda in a cup with our self serve ice cream to create an orange float; sounds like your daughter might enjoy this.

We haven't eaten here, but the Plaza has caught my eye for our upcoming trip: Main Street location, location and a casual menu (as well as the desserts selections) make it intriguing.

I continue to toy with the idea of the Grand Floridian Cafe, just never seem to have enough credits and meal slots to book it.

I am going purely on what my children liked at age 7 (girls and boy)

Coral Reef
Sci Fi
Le Cellier - when they had the chocolate mousse (or moose) not sure if they still have it or not
Plaza - especially the ice cream
Rainforest Cafe

They also love(d)

California Grille and Narcoosees

My 7 year old DD said very quickly, 50s Prime Time! We have been to Sci Fi a couple times and while she isn't normally afraid of stuff, she was a little bothered by some of the things on the screen there!

WCC was the first one to pop into my head. At breakfast, they have a pretty good platter that's all you can eat. Not the best use of a dining credit, but great for oop. For dining credits I'd probably choose later in the day. For lunch or late breakfast break from MK, it's kind of a nice break. At dinner it probably gets crowded again (haven't been for dinner), and I think the early morning there is probably also more hectic.

Another thought - is the forgotten character meal at the Swan. It get's reasonably crowded at dinner, but less so at breakfast. Goofy actually spends time interacting with guests rahter than running from table to table ina hurry like at other character meals. Even the dinner is good in that way.

Another fun one - in a way - that nobody knows about is the QS at GF. It's relatively uncrowded, esp in the middle of the day and dinner. You can take your food outside and watch the MK/monorail from a distance. Not the same constructed 'fun' as 50's PT or WCC to be certain, but special nonetheless. It's so quiet and peaceful - and a great view of the castle. It's a nice spot for reflection. Plus, it's on the water. The food isn't bad either.

Took my daughter to Whispering Canyon at WL when she was 7. She asked for ketchup (hilarious mistake!). She's 15 now and STILL talks about how much fun that restaurant was.
