Looking for Easter Basket Ideas...

We have 3 kids (2, 4 an 5 1/2). To cut down the "that's mine, it was in my basket" syndrome, we do a family basket. Every year the big item is a family game.

Since this year's basket is disney themed in honor of our May trip, the family game is Disney Scene It. I also put in Disney beach towels, coloring books, wallets with Disney Dollars (made my own), Disney themed eggs I found at Walmart, bubbles and couple of small toys to play with now.

What a fun thread this has been!

KATIESMOMMY--Here are some ideas...

Board books are GREAT!
Fisher Price Little People Easter sets--I saw these at Target--They had several different tubes with 3 LP figures in them. They also had a cute plastic egg with one figure in it.
Fisher Price Peek a Boo blocks--Target had small sets of these in their Easter basket section.
Gerber Gummies, Bite Size snacks, etc
No-Spill Bubble cup
Sipper Cups
A cute stuffed bunny
Pretty Pastel socks stuffed inside fillable Easter Eggs
Hair bows--I found the cutest set of pastel curly ribbon pony-os at Walmart the other day
FORGET THE EASTER GRASS!! It will make a huge mess and is a choking hazard for little ones.

We'll be driving to WDW, so for my kids baskets this year I'm using car toy boxes. Kinda hard to explain, but basically it's a soft sided carrier with lots of pockets and it sits on the seat beside them. They're on clearance $5 each at Target in the auto isle ... Sponge Bob and Hello Kitty. It beats digging in the backpacks for toys. I've filled them with stuff I found on clearance, a DVD each, books, small amt of candy/chocolate, portable cup of teddy grahams. I also like to put stuff in there that they'll need anyway. Sunglasses, chapstick, new toothbrush.

There is a sale on Easter Baskets at Toys R Us. We got the cutest one there yesterday for our 2 year old boy. It was a toy wheelbarel with tons of summer toys in it (sidewalk chalk, bubbles, etc...) for les then 18 dollars. :)

Thanks for the great ideas--I went to Bingo tonight and hit $200 so the Easter bunny is going to be *very* good to Katie on her first Easter!

Our DD will be one in April also..on the 22nd to be exact. I got her some Tink sunglasses, a pink lovee (soft little blanket type thing), a pooh romper, pink jelly sandals, sippy cup, and a pink stuffed bunny..there may be more i am forgetting I bought for both of my girls and went a little overboard so I can't remember all that I bought.. Oh and I forgot I did get her and DD4 a chocolate bunny for their baskets but she will not be eating it DH will because she cannot have chocolate yet!!! But it is a must have in all baskets in my opinion....LOL
My Katie will be one on April 14 ! Happy birthday to your little one and thanks for the great ideas!

What a fun thread...I actually looked over the whole thing!! My DD's are 9 and 11, and I'm trying to avoid an overload of candy. I'm doing what several posters have said already and giving my girls things they need anyway but will love! They're getting flip-flops, t-shirts, hair stuff, socks, and one is getting the cd that her dance recital song is on (which I had promised anyway) and the other is getting the Mary Poppins dvd. I spent a little more than I used to on bubbles, jump ropes, etc., but they're getting things that I would be purchasing anyway down the road! Oh yes, I too gave them Disney Dollars..had to give them some of MY PERSONAL STASH as there are none to be found locally and it's too late to order any! Oh well, the things we mothers do...it's better than "re-giving" them some of their own, which I admit I considered doing!!!!!

Have fun, everyone! Happy Easter! :flower:
