Our last visit we had the pleasure of enjoying Hoop De Doo Revue. We love all the food especially the corn bread. I've been dreaming of it since last year.

So we're going back in the fall but we're getting free dining this time (quick service only). I'm looking for any other locations that serve corn bread. We're willing to book a table service meal for it butof course would prefer quick service.

Any help?

Boatwright's, the TS at POR! Warm cornbread comes with meals, and maybe it's because I hadn't had cornbread in so long, but it was goooood! :thumbsup2 I had dinner there in April and had the French Onion soup and the pork chop - really enjoyed my meal and would go back.

Someone familiar with POR might know if you can get cornbread from the CS there.

Trails End has the same corn bread... since HDDR shares its kitchen with Trails End. We LOVE the corn bread at HDDR! It is so hard not to fill up on the corn bread and butter before the rest of the food comes out! :thumbsup2 Trails End also has a to go menu so you can make a trip over there and do the take out! We have also had corn bread at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL.

My favorite is at Boatwrights. I could just have that for dinner. SOOO Good.

Trail's end has delicious corn bread! They have a pretty reasonably priced buffet (much cheaper compared to other buffets), and they also have take out as well. It's located at Ft. Wilderness :)

It might be worth it for your family to make a reservation for Trails End and pay out of pocket since you are on the QS plan and everyone is suggesting TS places for corn bread. It is delicious and inexpensive for Disney Pricing. It is running $25.55 for adults and $14.90 for kids 3-9, includes tax, beverage. Tip is not included. We go every trip.

I second, third, whatever number I am, the recommendation of Trail's End buffet! The cornbread is wonderful, and the buffet is worth it for more than just that. it was also served with a few QS meals at CBR our last trip a couple of months ago, such as chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, so perhaps your resort would have it.

I thought I remembered it being served at Flame Tree BBQ in AK, which should be open by your trip this fall. The online menus differ, in that one said "served with jalapeño cornbread " (meh...) and another made no mention of it at all.

As a cornbread lover myself, I applaud your search for it, and wish you success. In thee meantime, we here at Chez Applecore recommend Fleischman's Southern-style Cornbread mix. Whoop, is it yummy! Way better than Jiffy, and honestly, better than any homemade one I've baked myself.

Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge serves it with the all-you-can-eat skillet, but of course that's a table service place (and the skillet is ~$30)

About 15 years ago, the DVC magazine printed the recipe for Hoop-de-Due cornbread. I copied it and have been using it ever since. I'm at work now, but when I get home, I'll gladly send it. PM me to remind me.

I love the corn bread at the Wave. It's obviously not QS, but we often pop into the bar just for soup and corn bread. :-)

I looked it up...wow, no wonder people find it addictive, it has twice as much sugar as a typical CB recipe.

I have the original Cooking with Mickey cookbook that I bought specifically for the Trail's End cornbread. It's the sugar that makes it extra tasty. Allears has it too:

Recipes
Hoop Dee Doo
Musical Revue Cornbread
Trails End - Fort Wilderness

Ingredients:
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 T. baking powder
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Method of Preparation: 1. Blend flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder and sugar in a mixing bowl.
2. In a separate bowl, blend milk, eggs, and oil with a mixer.
3. Using that same mixer, slowly add the blended liquid to the dry ingredients prepared in step 1, mixing just enough to incorporate the wet and dry ingredients.
4. Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with non stick food spray and pour the batter into the pan, spreading evenly.
5. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes. or until golden brown.
6. Allow to cool. Enjoy!

Boatrights (DELICIOUS) and Trails End for sure. Am I remembering correctly or do they have them at Whispering Canyon and Liberty Tree Tavern)?

Thanks for posting it. That's the same recipe I have. On the plus side, it has vegetable oil instead of a solid shortening which is a little less unhealthy.
