Karajeboo - my kids have that 'dress as a literary person' thing at school and I have no idea who they should dress up as. They want to wear their costumes - Belle and Giselle, but I'm trying to make them understand that's not really a literary person. Oh and hello they tell us this on Monday with a phone call last night - mom and dad whip up those costumes for Friday. Give me a break!!! How about a few more weeks of a notice people!!

ITA!!! At least Ally's is just a "character" so she can wear her Halloween costume - Belle - and get away with it.

I have to just tell you quick, about the songs (and different words). This morning I was trying to get DD9 moving (tired from the movie) and I was trying to get her into the shower. I started singing
"Take My Hand, I'll Take The Lead, I'll Get You In The Shower, To Get Clean..."
She thought it was funny, she's 9 and not into the "you're embarassing me" stage her sister is and was at this age (thank goodness!!!)
Just had to share...it was funny!

Very cute! And I loved that song and dance number!

Tinalala -We have dress up days once a year - last one was a literary theme - Alice in Wonderland is a good one, do you have the "Hungry Caterpillar" - head to toe green! Harry Potter, Narnia, Golden Compass etc all provide a few "different" ones. Mine went as the 2 girls from The Lion the witch and the wardrobe in their grandma's long fake fur coats!

We have a dress up based on "celebrity" next month.... a known person, present or historical, or a recognisable film or book or comic book or TV character. Makes it easier with so much choice - but mine want to be Hermione from Harry Potter and Kim Possible!!! At least they are easy outfits!:goodvibes

Tessa

Oh, get this, over here Harry Potter is banned in a lot of schools. Can you believe it??? it's not like 5 year olds are watching and reading these books and movies. It's tweens and they know the difference at that age, I would think. Again, it's this polical correctness that drives me nuts!!! Some of these leaders take what was written innocently and turn it into something evil. I just don't get it. :sad2:

Ooh Tessa - what's the Halloween special being done in the London Eye? We went on that last summer when we were in London - darn near had a panic attack in that thing!:scared: I got some great pictures but, holy cow, I couldn't help but be a little freaked out!

Tina - I hear your frustration regarding the late notice on Halloween themes. Amanda's school does that EVERY year - we usually get told 2-3 days notice as to what they want the class dressing up as. Yeah, I've got nothing better to do then run around at the last minute! So frustrating!

Thanks for the compliments on my neighborhood. I like it here!:) We still do have alot of leaves on the trees but with the way the wind is blowing today, not sure how many will be left. Yes, it's freezing here but thankfully, no snow. And they are calling for it to be 60 degrees on Halloween!:yay:

Lauren plays the HSM3 soundtrack constantly; I'm still not that into it yet. HSM2 is still my fave - love "Fabulous" and "I Don't Dance." And, yes, we incorporate music lyrics into our conversations too but it's mostly - surprise, surprise - Jonas Brothers songs. Funny how you can fit their song titles into everyday conversation. And speaking of which.............................

*DVR ALERT* - Zac Efron and "one" of the Jonas Brothers will be on the Ellen Show tomorrow. Now I don't want to give anyone a heart attack, but all month, to raise money for breast cancer research, Ellen has had a dunking booth on her show and she's had her guests get in it to be dunked. I'm thinking there is a strong possibility we may see a "wet" Zac or JoBros. tomorrow on the show!:hyper: :faint:

Guess what county "neighbor" called me this morning? Hum? Ashley Judd - well it was a recording to encorage voting for a certain party - :) Still funny. Carlos would have died- he has the hots for her.

Now Renee, why would you even post this? Cause I about choked on my coffee! That's ALAbama not Obama!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Okay princess smart a**, you do realize I meant "BAMA" as in "NO BAMA" right? I'm not that much of a doofus! :snooty:

No, I meant THIS Saturday!!!! We're going to SC for Turkey Day I think. I just hope it's too late for Jeff's sister to change her plans and go there too. I know, I'm terrible. But she's got two little ones, and with Bucky, well, he's just so misunderstood! Plus, I don't like HER!!! BSIL!!!
BSIL! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: GEts me every time.

.
Cammie - those pictures are amazing! We aren't turning too much here yet - but it should be coming. We're in a rolling hill area, so it is quite pretty when it does.

Going to London this weekend (by coach) -
:worship: I would love to see London - and that you get to do it over the weekend... well.... :worship:

It is a windy cold day here. 40 degrees and I have a ton of errands to run.
If you were seven months preg in that pic, girl - you really would never know! THat is amazing. I just needed the words "GOOD YEAR" down my side at 7 months! :rotfl2:

Kiddo update - Nicolas - back to normal. Could have went to school but the car is in the shop, so no school party for him.

MIa - she is sickER, crabby, and just pretty yuck. Nasty sounding cough. Poor baby.

The party went well last night. I had red wine (1/2 glass), 1 glass of bubbly, and 2 martinis. Got a headache today. The limo was cool, but I definately should have done something like that when I was younger. I was like... ehh- :confused3. :rotfl2: Dinner was nice and it was nice to get out with the girls for a night!

hope everyone else is doing well!

Debbie - What wonderfully dirty thing did you try to post? All I see are two boxes with a red "x" in them!

What time is Ellen on by you? Here, in Boston, it's on at 9am.

Sounds like I'll be seeing "our boys" before you tomorrow. After I take a cold shower, I'll come on here and post my thoughts!;) :rotfl:

I have to wait until 3 ya brat!!!!!!

Debbie - sounds like we get Ellen at the same time (4 my time), so I'll just ignore Cammie until then.

And yes, I just automatically assumed you posted something naughty too! :lmao:

Renee - I know of two Bama's - ALA and O! :rotfl2:

Yeah, the limo thing doesn't excite me too much either. But it is nice to have someone else drive you around. THAT I could get used to!

Cammie and Tessa - what's the London eye?

Tourist attraction - think it was sponsored by British Airlines, not sure though. And it was put up to celebrate the millenium? Basically looks like a giant ferris wheel; but each car is an enclosed "pod" that gives you some beautiful views of the city. One rotation takes about 30 minutes. Here are a few pix:

I'm sure Tessa could give better background info. Like I said, gorgeous views; not for the claustrophic or those afraid of heights though!

Wow! But don't think I'd like that! I had a hard time on the ferris wheel at Camp Snoopy in the Mall of America with Ally! And it was maybe 3 or 4 stories high. I definitely couldn't handle 30 minutes at those heights, no matter how great the views are!

Sorry, just needed to get my point across....

I think I've really gotten a nasty cold. I'm gonna go to bed as soon as Ally gets home. I feel awful!

:lmao: to your "vomit" smiley!

Seriously, though - I started to have a hard time. It didn't make me sick; I just starting feeling a little too "closed" in. I had to do some quiet breathing exercises for a little while!

Kara-- I laughed!!! The ferris wheel is maybe 1.5 stories tall.. The thing that gets me is that it is raised off the floor. BTW we lost the snoopy part--now it's NICK WORLD or something like that.

Like I said, I don't do well with heights!!! 1.5 stores is the same as 15 stories to me!!!! :rotfl2: OK, so maybe I exaggerate a bit.... :rolleyes1

OK, I'm totally offended right now. I just saw my first commercial totally in spanish. It was a commercial sponsored by the ad council and had Shrek and Donkey in it. Of course I couldn't tell youwhat it was about cause the dang thing was in spanish!!!!!

Funny thing is that our hispanic population here in Jacksonville is LESS than it was in SC. It's not like we live in Miami!

I'm going to take a stab and say it WAS sponsored by British Airlines since it has their logo on the "pod" ;) :lmao:

On a serious note, I'll have to live through you. I dunno about being that high for 30 minutes! :scared1:

Some executlive somewhere is going, Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville... they're all the same! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I feel rotten too. I think I have a smidge of what the kids have been passing. My head is about to explode. At least I made meat sauce (UH-HUM, from SCRATCH) and it has lots of garlic and onion in it. Garlic is suppose to be a natural antibiotic. I started the Ester C and took a nap with the kids and feel no better. :sad2:

My car should be ready this pm. Not that I have anywhere to go, but I hate hate hate KNOWING I cannot go when I want.

I want to tell you all something new and exciting, but there is nothing that I know that falls into that category. :confused3

Renee - if you're getting sick, remember, Vitamin C every time you Pee!
