Yup, I think you did the right thing. If he doesn't like the dinos that do NOT move and roar, I don't think he'd like T-rex at all.

Ally is begging me to go get HSM3 since it came out on DVD today. She got 2 A's and 3 B's on her interim report card, and she brought her math grade UP to an A. So that's good. I told her if she gets good behavior every day maybe we'll get it this weekend. I hate to just rush out and buy it for her without making her "earn" it, ya know? I spoil her too much as it is.

I feel you're pain, but if you can hold out and reward her good behavior - that will be good. Nothing says you can't go out and buy it at Target now and just hold it until she's earned it. They are typically so much cheaper when they first come out!

Lorrie- OK here is my suggestion what time is breakfast? You can have the cake at 'Ohana in the AM have them wrap it up and take it back to the hotel. This way you have completed your motherly duties and you wont have to worry about it. I think 'Ohana will make it magical. It's Disney why not a little cake with Breakfast? I do think breakfast is good enough if that is where he picked to eat on his birthday. When you are home you wouldn't go out for 3 meals :thumbsup2 He will have a great day just being in Disney and after dinner why not head to Ghiradelli and let him pick out any sundae he wants?

Kara- I agree buy it and put it away until she has earned it! Today Luca wanted something at the Disney store and I had to tell him no because we are going to disney in 2 weeks he pitched a fit the entire way to the car, but I knew he would forget about it and he has:rolleyes1

I just posted on the Rest board to see if anyone has done birthday breakfast there. It is sorta early - 7:50, and then we are heading to HS to meet POWER RANGERS! (he is pretty sure they are real still) So no time to go back to the room. I'm not opposed to him having a cupcake for breakfast.

HEY! I could get one at GF bakery the night before couldn't I and just bring it with me to breakfast the next am????? Does the GF bakery have cupcakes?

I'm sure they will do soemthing for him if you ask when you check in. I'm sure just getting the cast to sing or something like that would make a little guy's day?

Jillian - where are you Fri/Sat/Sun? I couldn't read it in your earlier post.

7 glasses of water - I'm floating!!!! But I soooo want to go to Moe's for dinner tonight.

Hey, I did it last week and somehow still lost 2 lbs! And I have 700 cals to play with tonight - so maybe I'll order a kids meal. And TRY to limit the chips....

Friday Day- MK
Friday Night- EPCOT EMH
Sat day- AK
Sat Night -Epcot
Sunday- Free
I just edited the post so maybe you can read it better!

Best weight loss program out there? Ask "is this bite worth my I pod".

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just got told that you get a cupcake at Ohana breakfast and get to do a conga line around the rest. He'll be in heaven!

Mom's cake for birthday obligation filled.

Jillian - you are right. If we were home, we'd take him out once - tops. :hugs: Thanks! (again!)

Kara - don't eat at Moes - it is sooooo fattening. I gotta go soon and pick up our pizza. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
yep - diet has gone GREAT today! :rolleyes1

Hi all

Goodness a girl goes away for a few days and whoooosh the pages fly by :rotfl:

Went to Belfast to visit the fam, poor Chloe came down with awful stomach bug, both ends :sad2: it was awful and really not the greatest when you're staying in a B&B anyway we flew home and thankfully she wasn't sick on the plane got home and she crashed poor kid, she has been very snoozy today and then sad this evening, we were meant to be going to Calais for the day tomorrow with my folks and i have said no, so she is sad and cross with me!!

Anywhooo
I can't remember most of what i have just read
Cammie hope you two are having a blast
Kara well done on the weight loss, mine is going badly
Lorrie all your plans look great sorry that's no help hahhaha

Hello to everyone else :flower3: am gonna go read back a bit

Alrighty guys - need to cut some TS meals here. Suggestions? We're allowed 7 - and I don't mind for paying for a couple - but not 4-5.

Arrival day : Dinner @ Boma (meeting Kara, can't cut)
Day 2: BF - Tusker (LOVE This one!), L - CS Dinner Park Fair
Day 3. BF - Ohana (birthday boy) L - CS; Trex dinner out of pocket
Day 4. BF - CS, L - Crystal Palace, D- San Angels
Day 5. BF - CS, L - CS, D- Tutto Italia
Day 6. BF - Norway, L-Le Cellier (gonna have to cut this), D - Ohana
Day 7. BF - Crystal Palace, L- CS, D - Maya Grill
Day 8. BF - CS or Chef Mickeys (really going to cut this one too)

So... thoughts on Crystal Palace for lunch vs early dining time for MK? I LOVED RD at the castle, but I'm afraid that might make Carlos....um.... Pissy? :rotfl2: :lmao: , but I think only one CP is all we need.

So by my count, that still leaves 10. :sad2:

See - here is where I get stuck. We were "celebrating" our anniversary at Maya Grill the night before we leave at 5:45, but do yall think we'd rather be at a park? I thought it would be either we would want to be at a park late and sleep in the next day, or eat early and pack up that night - then go to a park the next am. We fly out at 3, so realistically we won't have to board ME until 1 pm.

Kara - okay, consider that San Angels "romantic atmosphere" with two kids 4 & 2 who scream "DONE" after about 15 minutes tops.

Lorrie, I just wouldn't use TS credits for breakfast - the value isn't worth it. I'm confused:confused3 Didn't you just say in the previous post that you weren't doing the DDP because you would spend more than OOP?

I did the same thing with the menus - figuring out what we would order, etc. etc. For us, we save maybe $4 on DDP, but Jim likes knowing it's already paid for and just being able to order whatever we want. I think we could save money going mostly CS, but we do enjoy the good TS meals. We really aren't big "foodies."
Also, I don't think I would schedule two big meals 4 hrs apart. I'm not sure you would be hungry enough at the second one to really enjoy it. I have to eat a small lunch if I'm going to have an early dinner.

Hi Everyone! I'm new here and I am for sure ANAL, OCD, and CONTROLLING so I was so excited when I saw this thread!

We are leaving for our FIRST EVER trip to Disney in 32 days and I am so anxious that I can't stand it!

I have books, I have The Passporter, I have been visiting websites, I have been having lunch dates with friends who have been to Disney many times, and I've even made a binder with all my schedules and stuff in it. Everyone is making fun of me, including my husband who has asked countless times if I remembered to schedule in some time for "fun"?

Anyway, glad to know that I am not the only one! I can't wait till our trip!!

Hello and Welcome!:cheer2: You will be going the same time I am! I am getting so stoked! I used to get the teasing, etc. on the planning, but once I had planned a couple of awesome trips thanks to the DIS, I don't get any more arguments! The only thing I got was grief about how the buses ran, or didn't last year - so this year I rented a car.

Where are you staying? What are your plans? I'll be at SSR Mar 22-27, then off-site at Buena Vista Suites until the 29th. My PTR is in my siggie, if you want to know our schedule. I don't want to bore everyone with it again here - although we all love to help each other plan and control!:goodvibes Feel free to stay around and get to know us - there are a great bunch of people here!

I've cut the lead in our biggest loser competition. The first place person has lost 6.25%, 2nd place is 5.75% and I'm at 5.25%. I figure if I can lost 5lbs over the next 3 weeks, that will put me at 8.75% total for the competition. I should be able to pull it off if I can hit that. The two in first and second place have slowed down a lot. I really wanna beat my neighbor - he's just an arrogant jerk about it, and he's in either first or second place. They don't list names, but we all have numbers so we only know how we are doing....

I finally convinced Jeff we ned to get Tables in Wonderland card this trip. We're gonna use it probably one TS each weekend trip we take, sometimes more, and since it includes alcohol, that will probably save us anywhere from $10-15 each time we use it. So we should get our money's worth in a year easily.

Go Kara:woohoo: Go Kara!:woohoo: You are doing really well - I know you will take the lead! Good luck with all that water. I would definately get that TIW card if we had AP - it will be fun to save $ while :drinking1

If I had to choose between Maya and San Angel, I'd go San Angel for the atmosphere alone. It is beautiful in there!!! If you tell them it's Nicolas' bday and you want a special table by the river, hopefully they could accommodate you - the kids would be entertained watching the boats go by. :thumbsup2

I had thought I would like to try San Angel, then I heard bad things - I wonder if it was from people expecting "tex/mex." We have Mexicans cooking at all the Mexican places here - when we went to Mexico, the food was the same, so I guess we have authentic here - maybe San Angel is authentic and we would like it? I do like tex/mex too.

Renee, I think Carlos would get along well with Jeff! Ally was born on March 31st - I wanted to hold out until April 1st so I could get a diamond for my mothers ring, but Jeff didn't want an April Fools baby, so he told the dr to hurry up to save him money on a mothers ring!!!! :rotfl2: MEN!!!

I like both your baby stories - I just quoted this one. :goodvibes

Lorrie, I'm excited about the dolphins! I was trying to figure out how to do Dolphin Cove - looks like a way better deal for the money - but then you get the passes to Busch Gardens and Sea World, which I haven't been to in Florida. I would want to go back at least one day to Sea World, so I think since we have baseball tickets this year, we are too short on time to do 2 DC/SW days - I think I will save this idea for another trip, but my wheels are turning! :cool1:

Oh sure just hang out and chat away all day when I can't be here! Lots of ADR chatting along with diet talk! Kara...you crack me up because you don't even look to me like you have any weight to lose!

Renee...I am glad your trip is coming along...If you can believe it I don't know anything about any of the places you are discussing! Crazy! We do LOVE Chef Mickey though! Love it! "Celebrate....celebrate..." Sing it with me!

You sound like you are feeling OK. Didn't mean to be a downer about the drugs. I just was worried for you.

If I go on the computer while Mark is home he will just assume/think that is what I do everyday all the time...OH wait... I do....no J/K! You know what I mean, right? I have to look like SUPER SAHM while he's here just to make a point!

Welcome NEWBIE! Join in with anything you want! Don't worry about keeping up just post away!!!!

Hi Tammie...I swam with the dolphins once. OMG it was awesome.

Jillian...boy do I wish I was packing for my WDW trip! I can't believe how close your trip is!

Erin...congrats to your bro (FB) and poor poor Chloe! How awful. We just went through that too but we were at least home!

Hey Laura....enough budget talking! (hey, that kind of came out butt talking). I am so depressed about the financial changes that we have to deal with and make over here I can't even look at it some days! It is so depressing! I want to go back in the bubble! The bubble got me into this mess but it was much easier in the land of denial!

Oh Erin, welcome back! I'm sorry Chloe was sick! Good luck catching up - I was gone just for today and came back to 5 new chatty pages!

I've got to catch up on reading tomorrow. Carlos gave me 5 minutes only to tell you guys. :)

His former job (the one we debated leaving or not in Dec - he'd been there 10 years) just RIFed the entire department - 22 people! HOLY SMOKES. talk about making you almost upchuck! That one was too close to call.

Turns out they did it 3 days before bonus payout too. I just cannot imagine what everyone is going through. It makes me so sick!

Hello all!* Lorrie - that would make me sick too!* Good for Carlos for being smart when he got out!!!Tammie - we liked San Angel but we went in with an open mind.* The food is so so but the atmosphere is one of the best imho.* But it's not the typical mexican food we eat around here.* I think Jeff got snapper or something.* Not what you'd find on our local mexican restaurant's menu.Debbie - you're sweet but I have about 15 lbs to lose.* Oh, and I got my FREE acai supplement today!* So that plus the cleanse - yes, I'm gonna do it!!!* Oh, and I went to Moe's for dinner.* Couldn't stop myself!!!* And I ate a ton of chips and cheese!!!!* So tomorrow will be really good and extra workout. In fact, I'm heading to the elliptical now for a few minutes.* I can do that while watching Idol.Just got the kitchen all cleaned up.* Tomorrow is downstairs bathrooms and/or floors.* Then will do the other on Thursday so everything will be done by the weekend.OK, off until tomorrow!

Laura, I'll let you know. I'm gonna couple it with the cleanse and see what happens.....

Happy Hump Day gals!

I was reading about how awful ASMo is!!! Everyone says that ASSp and ASMu have been refurbed but Movies is old and ratty. Of course, I'm still gonna stay there b/c I think Ally will like the theming better at this age. May try Music some other time. But in order for us to do 2 nights at AKL in May, I have to do a value this time. Lorrie, didn't you stay at Movies last year?

So I'm feeling really guilty about eating at Moe's last night, so it was a bagel with ff cream cheese for breakfast. Will do grapefruit for snack, and turkey sandwich and salad for lunch.....

I'm so bummed out that our garage fridge died! It was great for holiday dinners - I could prep everything the night before and store in there. Plus, we keep a full supply of "beverages" in there, espcially in the summer. Right now there are about 3 cases of soda that are slowly warming up......

Now I need your help. Ally did not have a bday party last year and really wants one this year. In the past, I have gone all out for her bdays.

1st bday - Pooh theme with mostly family and some close friends
2nd bday - Elmo
3rd bday - Scooby Doo, at the park with about 10 kids from daycare, plus family and friends
4th bday - Sleeping Beauty, at the park with about 12 kids from daycare, PLUS Sleeping Beauty herself!!!
5th bday - Kim Possible, at our house, with games, scavenger hunt, and KP called to help with games!
6th bday - gymnastics - about 8 girls came and we rented the gym for 2 hrs of gymnastics
7th bday - nothing
8th bday -?????

I've made all her cakes except the Pooh one, and she really wants to do something "fun" this year. Anyone heard of Sweet and Sassy? It's like BBB on a local level. I might check into that and let her invite 5 girls - they get makeovers and they even have a pink stretch limo that they will pick up the girls and take them to the salon! Not sure about the cost - that will be the deciding factor. But if she does this, she can only invite girls. And I wouldn't need to make a cake b/c the party would be at the salon, I guess.

OR, a roller skating party - problem is that the rink is about 30 minutes away - how many kids will show up? But she can invite her whole class this way. That way she could do a HSM3 theme and I could make a cake.

Either way, no cleanup at my house.....

OR, a slumber party - her first one. She could invite 5 girls only but then I have to entertain them, clean up, cook, etc. And she may hurt feelings if she doesn't invite everyone.

Oy vey!

Any ideas?

Thanks Tammie, she is feeling better now!

Thanks Debbie, apparently he proposed on Valentine's Day awww
Yeh it wasn't fun being away whilst dealing with her stomach bug, thankfully she seems better now and actually eaten today aswell, we've spent the day chilling on sofa playing games and watching tv ahhh lovely :lovestruc

I'm wishing my dieting had gone better since Christmas, i have school reunion this saturday and haven't lost as much as i wanted to :sad2: oh well i'm still excited and will get back on the dieting as have 5 weeks till my holiday :woohoo: am so very excited!!!

?
My two cents - skip the slumber party this year -that day is fast approaching and I'd save that for another birthday quite honestly. 8 hum - gosh, I still think she is younger!

Um.... hum.....
Sweet & Sassy is here. Neighbor did it for her daughters 5th and took the 7 &4 year old neighbors - LOVED IT! We also have(or could be had - don't know since Belk took over Parisians) one inside the mall that you could do a combo party there and then lunch (pizza) at the food court and do cake - that might be an idea.

I'd save the roller skating too for older. THose were some favs as 10-12, so I'd hold them to be special then, and do Sweet & Sassy while it is still "cool". From what I understand they get to do a little dance party in there too - so it is super fun. Not sure about the cake thing -but I'm thinking they did that at their house. The only gripe I heard was price. It wasn't cheap, but they said it was fun.

As for ASmo - we stayed on the top floor of the Woody Building. It was preferred. I tell you, I'd so pick that over many of the 4 stars we have here. Gaylord Opryland and Memphis' Peabody hotels are all "nicer" hotels, but I thought it was better. It was clean as a pin - and I CAN BE PICKY about that - I generally shower on my tippy toes because it grosses me out, I stood flat footed there! Seriously, I haven't stayed in a deluxe there or a mod, so I can't compair by Disney Standards, but let me just say I'd never hesitate to stay there. I HATED HATED HATED their food court, but everything else was more than fine. I actually think their themes there appeal to me more. The rooms are small. But you know how POP is - so expect that and you'll be fine. The Sports & Musics stops are more optimal, but at the end of the day, that theme just does NOTHING for me.
They really should do a mod or a deluxe themed like ASmo. I would so stay there! :woohoo:

Thanks Tammie, she is feeling better now!

Thanks Debbie, apparently he proposed on Valentine's Day awww

I am so sorry that CJ has been so sick again! YUCK! Poor thing! Congrats on having only 5 weeks until holiday! :yay:

What kind of device were you using last night to post this? :confused3

I just was worried for you.!
The drugs are a mess. You are right. I've gained 4 lbs in one day! :scared1:  :scared1:  So I've got to do better today for sure. It is just amazing how B****y you get from this stuff - how jittery you feel - not nice.

Oh, you'll love this - the same "No Chef Mickey's mom - Mickey is for babies and girls" was in there dancing his butt off singing Celebration with the WDW Beach video.  :lmao: I may leave those on, see how things go there, and decide when we are there - besides, as long as I call ahead to say we won't be there, I'm sure there will be someone waiting who would love to snag them if we decide he is really going to act grumpy. Mia loves "MOUSE" so much - it might be worth it just for her! "Mouse", Pooh and Princesses are her favs - and her big brother was telling her how cool TIGGER was today. Again...

Lorrie, I just wouldn't use TS credits for breakfast - the value isn't worth it. I'm confused:confused3 Didn't you just say in the previous post that you weren't doing the DDP because you would spend more than OOP?

I was compairing the DDP (which we will save money on and I already booked ) to the DDP plus where you get 3 meals and two snacks daily - whatever they may be. Our family does appetizers or desserts one meal a day - but only one, never two. It would cost us 500 more to save about 100-250, so that didn't make it worth it for us. :confused3

San Angels sounds like more authentic fine dining to me. I like that a lot. The burrito/enchalada thing just isn't my style.

Here is your interesting tidbit - once upon a time, I let Carlos spend a semester abroad for grad school - he stayed in Monterey Mexico. Get this - down there know what the tortillas were made for? Basically a napkin that you eat at the end of the meal. You pull your piece of meat off with it (commonly chicken) and then eat it - then eat your "napkin" at the end.

And interesting tidbit #2 - no toliet seats. :scared1: Households don't see the point. I kept trying to get him to buy them one. I told him they'd love it, but he didn't want to offend his host family. I couldn't imagine a 6 month stay with no seats. :scared:
