I was reading about how awful ASMo is!!! Everyone says that ASSp and ASMu have been refurbed but Movies is old and ratty. Of course, I'm still gonna stay there b/c I think Ally will like the theming better at this age. May try Music some other time. But in order for us to do 2 nights at AKL in May, I have to do a value this time. Lorrie, didn't you stay at Movies last year? Now I need your help. Ally did not have a bday party last year and really wants one this year. In the past, I have gone all out for her bdays.
1st bday - Pooh theme with mostly family and some close friends
2nd bday - Elmo
3rd bday - Scooby Doo, at the park with about 10 kids from daycare, plus family and friends
4th bday - Sleeping Beauty, at the park with about 12 kids from daycare, PLUS Sleeping Beauty herself!!!
5th bday - Kim Possible, at our house, with games, scavenger hunt, and KP called to help with games!
6th bday - gymnastics - about 8 girls came and we rented the gym for 2 hrs of gymnastics
7th bday - nothing
8th bday -?????
I've made all her cakes except the Pooh one, and she really wants to do something "fun" this year. Anyone heard of Sweet and Sassy? It's like BBB on a local level. I might check into that and let her invite 5 girls - they get makeovers and they even have a pink stretch limo that they will pick up the girls and take them to the salon! Not sure about the cost - that will be the deciding factor. But if she does this, she can only invite girls. And I wouldn't need to make a cake b/c the party would be at the salon, I guess.
OR, a roller skating party - problem is that the rink is about 30 minutes away - how many kids will show up? But she can invite her whole class this way. That way she could do a HSM3 theme and I could make a cake.
Either way, no cleanup at my house.....
OR, a slumber party - her first one. She could invite 5 girls only but then I have to entertain them, clean up, cook, etc. And she may hurt feelings if she doesn't invite everyone.
?
My two cents - skip the slumber party this year -that day is fast approaching and I'd save that for another birthday quite honestly. 8 hum - gosh, I still think she is younger!
Um.... hum.....
Sweet & Sassy is here. Neighbor did it for her daughters 5th and took the 7 &4 year old neighbors - LOVED IT! We also have(or could be had - don't know since Belk took over Parisians) one inside the mall that you could do a combo party there and then lunch (pizza) at the food court and do cake - that might be an idea.
I'd save the roller skating too for older. THose were some favs as 10-12, so I'd hold them to be special then, and do Sweet & Sassy while it is still "cool". From what I understand they get to do a little dance party in there too - so it is super fun. Not sure about the cake thing -but I'm thinking they did that at their house. The only gripe I heard was price. It wasn't cheap, but they said it was fun.
As for ASmo - we stayed on the top floor of the Woody Building. It was preferred. I tell you, I'd so pick that over many of the 4 stars we have here. Gaylord Opryland and Memphis' Peabody hotels are all "nicer" hotels, but I thought it was better. It was clean as a pin - and I CAN BE PICKY about that - I generally shower on my tippy toes because it grosses me out, I stood flat footed there! Seriously, I haven't stayed in a deluxe there or a mod, so I can't compair by Disney Standards, but let me just say I'd never hesitate to stay there. I HATED HATED HATED their food court, but everything else was more than fine. I actually think their themes there appeal to me more. The rooms are small. But you know how POP is - so expect that and you'll be fine. The Sports & Musics stops are more optimal, but at the end of the day, that theme just does NOTHING for me.
They really should do a mod or a deluxe themed like ASmo. I would so stay there!
Thanks Tammie, she is feeling better now!
Thanks Debbie, apparently he proposed on Valentine's Day awww
Yeh it wasn't fun being away whilst dealing with her stomach bug, thankfully she seems better now and actually eaten today aswell, we've spent the day chilling on sofa playing games and watching tv ahhh lovely
I'm wishing my dieting had gone better since Christmas, i have school reunion this saturday and haven't lost as much as i wanted to

oh well i'm still excited and will get back on the dieting as have 5 weeks till my holiday

am so very excited!!!
I am so sorry that CJ has been so sick again! YUCK! Poor thing! Congrats on having only 5 weeks until holiday!
Hello all!* Lorrie - that would make me sick too!* Good for Carlos for being smart when he got out!!!Tammie - we liked San Angel but we went in with an open mind.* The food is so so but the atmosphere is one of the best imho.* But it's not the typical mexican food we eat around here.* I think Jeff got snapper or something.* Not what you'd find on our local mexican restaurant's menu.Debbie - you're sweet but I have about 15 lbs to lose.* Oh, and I got my FREE acai supplement today!* So that plus the cleanse - yes, I'm gonna do it!!!* Oh, and I went to Moe's for dinner.* Couldn't stop myself!!!* And I ate a ton of chips and cheese!!!!* So tomorrow will be really good and extra workout. In fact, I'm heading to the elliptical now for a few minutes.* I can do that while watching Idol.Just got the kitchen all cleaned up.* Tomorrow is downstairs bathrooms and/or floors.* Then will do the other on Thursday so everything will be done by the weekend.OK, off until tomorrow!
What kind of device were you using last night to post this?
Renee...I am glad your trip is coming along...If you can believe it I don't know anything about any of the places you are discussing! Crazy! We do LOVE Chef Mickey though! Love it! "Celebrate....celebrate..." Sing it with me!
You sound like you are feeling OK. Didn't mean to be a downer about the drugs. I just was worried for you.!
The drugs are a mess. You are right. I've gained 4 lbs in one day!

So I've got to do better today for sure. It is just amazing how B****y you get from this stuff - how jittery you feel - not nice.
Oh, you'll love this - the same "No Chef Mickey's mom - Mickey is for babies and girls" was in there dancing his butt off singing Celebration with the WDW Beach video.

I may leave those on, see how things go there, and decide when we are there - besides, as long as I call ahead to say we won't be there, I'm sure there will be someone waiting who would love to snag them if we decide he is really going to act grumpy. Mia loves "MOUSE" so much - it might be worth it just for her! "Mouse", Pooh and Princesses are her favs - and her big brother was telling her how cool TIGGER was today. Again...
Lorrie, I just wouldn't use TS credits for breakfast - the value isn't worth it. I'm confused

Didn't you just say in the previous post that you weren't doing the
DDP because you would spend more than OOP?
I did the same thing with the menus - figuring out what we would order, etc. etc. For us, we save maybe $4 on DDP, but Jim likes knowing it's already paid for and just being able to order whatever we want. I think we could save money going mostly CS, but we do enjoy the good TS meals. We really aren't big "foodies."
Also, I don't think I would schedule two big meals 4 hrs apart. I'm not sure you would be hungry enough at the second one to really enjoy it. I have to eat a small lunch if I'm going to have an early dinner.:
I was compairing the DDP (which we will save money on and I already booked ) to the DDP plus where you get 3 meals and two snacks daily - whatever they may be. Our family does appetizers or desserts one meal a day - but only one, never two. It would cost us 500 more to save about 100-250, so that didn't make it worth it for us.
San Angels sounds like more authentic fine dining to me. I like that a lot. The burrito/enchalada thing just isn't my style.
Here is your interesting tidbit - once upon a time, I let Carlos spend a semester abroad for grad school - he stayed in Monterey Mexico. Get this - down there know what the tortillas were made for? Basically a napkin that you eat at the end of the meal. You pull your piece of meat off with it (commonly chicken) and then eat it - then eat your "napkin" at the end.
And interesting tidbit #2 - no toliet seats.

Households don't see the point. I kept trying to get him to buy them one. I told him they'd love it, but he didn't want to offend his host family. I couldn't imagine a 6 month stay with no seats.
