Renee I vote for early May or Jan. both times are good we love March for the weather. I think it depends on what you want to see do etc

may is my vote

I was 10. It was something I earned. I had to save up my allowance to get it done. Good luck!

Well I think it is every parents choice, but I was Ally's age when I got mine done. I think if she is old enough to understand the responsibility then go for it maybe make her feed bucky for 2 weeks and if she can handle that maybe she is ready? If she screws up then she made her on fate.

Thank you Jillian! I was starting to think I was the trampy one in the group - I had mine done early and Lauren had hers done for her 1st Communion - age 8. But I also made she sure she understood the responsibility of taking care of them. I wasn't going to be the one to make sure they were rotated and cleaned two times a day!:rotfl:

And, Renee - I vote beginning of December. It's not too crowded; the weather is very comfortable; it's decorated for xmas .............. and it's when the girls and I are there!:goodvibes

Hi ladies! You are a chatty bunch today! I was really tied up. I'm too tired to remember everything I read, but here goes:

Kara, I had to be 18!:rotfl2: My sisters got to be 16. If I had a daughter, I would probably say 10 because they are old enough to take care of them by themselves, and appreciate the value of the nicer earrings.

I've got to go look for those BSIL pics.

Renee, I loved both May and Oct - the weather was probably best in May. I'll let you know what I think about March!

Debbie, I didn't see your 15 minutes from today!

Cammie, close out the facebook - it will kidnap you! :lmao:

Okay, I'm excited - I got our plane tickets for March:banana: I still didn't get great prices, but saved about $100 over a month ago. Jim says gas is going back up, and I used FareWatcher to predict when to buy. I still paid $500 each with taxes. :guilty: We need to move to Florida! Jim's Dad is thinking about moving near Orlando.

I got my new park bag yesterday - I really like all the organizer pockets - I was using a couple of other smaller bags, but it is always hard to get to the things we need. I think Jim will carry this one for me some of the time if he can put it over his back. Now I'm waiting for the shoes I ordered. I can almost start packing the Summer clothes - we sure don't need them here!

Today, our baby girl somehow got ahold of one of those tiny sharp knives in my kitchen and cut her finger. She is okay - I still can't figure out what happened. I think it was on the counter and I grabbed a couple of dirty dish towels and knocked it on the floor and didn't realize it. One minute I was talking to her - looking right at her. I turned around to wipe off the counter, and heard her crying - only to find her holding that knife with a cut! She bled alot because it was on the end of her finger. Of course Lindsay was quite upset with me and gave me a lecture about how we need to keep all the knives out of ALL of our reach at all times. Not sure how we'll use them then, but I understand her concern.:sad2:

Not much else to say - I'd better get some sleep - 6:30 comes early and it's after 12 now. Have a great Tuesday!

Tammie - don't beat yourself up over the knife. It happens. I still remember dropping Ally on the floor when she was 2 weeks old! It was the middle of the night and I was nursing her in the living room. I fell asleep and she rolled right off the edge of the couch! :scared1: Talk about feeling like an unfit new mother!

Renee - if you don't like the heat, early December actually would be a good time! Or even late October, early November. Very low crowds too in Oct and Nov as long as it's not over Thanksgiving. My sis goes in Jan or early Feb and the parks seem empty. But a lot of attractions close then for rehab since it's not so busy.

Jeff didn't freak out at the idea of Ally getting her ears pierced. She pled her case well. But we told her she needs to show us she can be responsible between now and her birthday (end of March) and then we'll decide. So we'll see.....

Good luck with the weight loss!

:rotfl2: knickers, meaning "panties or underwear?" So my statement would read, "my panties are tight since the holidays!" :lmao:

Yep - that's EXACTLY how I read it (tee hee) p.s. shhhhhhh mine are too....:lmao:

Sweet Jesus - it is absolutely DISGUSTING here today!

Got three inches of snow overnight and then icy rain; is absolutely pouring right now. Lauren had a 2-hr. school opening delay. I kept Amanda home because I couldn't even shovel my ramp to get her out! I was hoping it would warm up a little and melt but the rain has just not stopped. Now everything is just a slushy mesh. CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!:headache: :headache: :headache:

I WANT TO BE IN DISNEYWORLD RIGHT NOW!

I seriously think that mn and ma got swapped. We don't get any snow and you are burried. Not fair. I'm with you on the FL thing though. GA is look g better and better. I have been talked out of driving wdw from Atlanta. Too much to cram into one week.

I will have my laundry room back tonight!!!

HI ladies!
I tried to visit this morning but couldn't get to our page. My computer has really been slow lately. I clean it up quite a bit so who knows why....

I have been pretty good at doing QUICK check ins on the computer and not hanging out too long. I feel like I am getting a lot done. Matthew started a whole new routine so I have been taking him to new classes every day and he LOVES it! He is done now for the week and Elizabeth's stuff is tomorrow and Friday after school.
Christmas is down and the kitchen table is clear! I have been saving receipts and keeping track of money to begin a budget, I finally broke down and told my Mom my money concerns so I feel like a little weight has been lifted....laundry is all caught up, I have groceries in the house and am cooking....SO I KNOW it is only day 3 but I feel like things are off to a good start!

I am excited for all of you who are going to WDW soon because believe me March will be here before you know it! Seriously it will be!!!

Renee...I hear where you are coming from with facebook but it's such mindless entertainment! I just crack myself up over there. I am friends with about 10 news/media people from the area and they REALLY chat to you! I feel like I know them! Not to mention the friends and family...
It is a lot but that's why I am just disciplining myself with it. AND I always HAVE to find time for you guys!!!!!! You are my FAVORITE people to talk to! That's why it's an added bonus if I am talking to you in both places!!!!!

As for ear piercing my father hated the idea of it at all but then my Mom caved when I was in 8th grade. I do think it's one of those things like a puppy...it's a much huger undertaking then people realize. I will hold off as long as possible but will play it by ear.

Glad everyone sounds good.....aside form the weather!

I just went out and tried to shovel well it's so darn heavy I had to stop now it's all going to freeze :sad2: I am already sick of winter. Mike is still working will be until tomorrow AM so it's just me and the Badookie.

:dance3:

I did get alot done today family room, kitchen, baked a cake Now just the bathroom and my room need to be done:yay:

Badookie Has been very neady doesn't want me on the computer and it is driving me crazy. I know he is just getting over being sick, but being alone 24 hours and lack of sleep is starting to get to me.

Debbie - I'm so proud of you! Seriously, sounds like you're doing great with your new plan!

Jillian - hang in there - there will come a time when he will NOT need you, and it comes all too soon. I know, people told me that too, but if I knew then what I know now.... and Ally's just now beginning to become little Miss Independent! I hate it! But I do know how frustrating it is, to feel like you've lost a little of yourself. When he goes to bed, do something just for you! My favorite is a hot bath with a glass of wine!

OK, have to tell sweet story. First of all, Jeff did NOT freak out at the idea of Ally getting her ears pierced. But her bday is over 2 months away,so I'm using Jillian's idea and making Ally prove to us that she is responsible!

On to sweet story - Tuesday nights are our Girls Night, right? We have a "camp out" in the guest room each week, after we do dinner, movie, shopping whatever. So last night I go up to bed with Ally in the guest room and she had put a stuffed animal on my pillow with a note, "Please sleep with the stuffed animal I left for you." OK. Under that note is another note. "I'm so lucky to have you for my mommy." OK, getting weepy now. Wait, another note! "I love you more than anything."

How sweet is that! Too bad she'll be pole dancing in about 10 years! :rotfl2: Just kidding! I hope! :scared1:

Kara that story is too sweet she is just adorable
As for badookie I feel awful thinking things like I want me time. I love him so much it's just so frustrating. It really helps having you guys to talk to it makes me feel like I'm not alone

jillian there are days where KAtherine pulls on my leg saying no computer. I totally get where you are coming from. We need to make sure we take time for ourselves or we will go NUTs.

Laura and Jillian ITA! I personally do need to be careful though because it is a fun escape and sometimes I do feel like I am on it too much. When I am on it like I have been this week I don't feel guilty because it is what I am choosing to do with my down time.

Kara..your story is precious! Ally is a doll!

Good morning all!

Still didn't get all the shovelling done yesterday - it froze and was just too thick. Had to carry Amanda down the stairs to get her out to school today; but it's supposed to warm up and melt everything - that it, until it snows again this Sat.! We're expecting possibly another 6 inches!:headache:

Kara - Adorable Ally story! She's such a cutie! I think she deserves another trip to Disney!:goodvibes

Good morning ladies! Looks like everyone is busy getting back to "normal."

Kara, what a sweet story!:lovestruc
Debbie, nice to see you! I'm glad you feel more grounded.
Cammie - I'm sorry about your snow! Ours is almost all melted. I hate it when you get alot and then it warms up and freezes like that - it is harder for you because you don't have a man to send out with the shovel. Be careful carrying Amanda around. I think we've all had enough snow!
Oh, I can hear it raining like crazy outside right now!:umbrella:

Jillian and Laura, don't feel guilty about your "me" time. We are better parents when we take a little down time and re-group. Those little ones need alot of attention!

***OLD LADY LECTURE COMING....All of you married moms don't forget "date night"!!! It is so important to check in with each other away from the kids. When my mom gave me this advice, she said "one day your kids will be all grown up and you won't know each other any more if you don't keep in touch while you're raising them." She was SO RIGHT! Even if you just go take a walk and eat fast food or something - don't neglect your marriage while you're so busy with your kids!****

Okay, now I need to go take care of the kids :goodvibes

Tammie - Thank you for the old lady lecture! :rotfl2: But you're so right, and Jeff and I don't do that near enough. It's hard here because we don't have a sitter, and we never get any time to ourselves. In SC we had Jeff's parents so Ally could spend the night with them and we could do whatever we wanted, sometimes we'd just go back to the house and do nothing! I used to feel guilty doing this, but as Ally grows up, I know it's important not only for me and Jeff but also for Ally to have time away from us.

Plus, I can honestly say that sometimes my daughter drives me nuts! I love her dearly but she's at that age..... plus, being an only child she wants a lot of mommy time. So I feel guilty if I don't spend that quality time with her. I actually felt like I was a better mom when I worked outside the home. That way I knew that the time we spent together in the evenings and weekends was good quality time. Now I feel like I leave her on her own in the other room too much while I'm working and I "yell" at her when she bugs me in my office. This parenting stuff ain't easy! :lmao:

Tonight we start cheerleading - I'm so excited for Ally. She's been looking forward to this for a long time. AND we have a play date planned with another second grade girl just down the street. I hate that she doesn't have a BFF here and hopefully this little girl will turn out to be a good friend.

Cammie and Jillian - be careful shoveling that heavy snow! I can't believe you're getting MORE! :sad2:

Debbie - you're making me feel guilty - I got the house vacuumed and the bathrooms cleaned last weekend, but the clutter is driving me nuts! I should have gotten so much done this week because Jeff hasn't been home before 9 each night, and tonight he's gone too. I love it when his boss comes into town! I can usually get so much accomplished, but this week I've just had a case of the "lazies."

Laura - so what is up with that washer?????

Hello to everyone else! Finally catching up at work after playing on facebook the past two days. I logged out last night with 20 voice mails to return! I'm down to about 5 so that is an accomplishment. Now I just need to stay on top of it today. I need a dose of Debbie's willpower!

Yes.. I am sick of winter too! Here it is just freezing here!

Have a good one I am off into the tundra!!!! Kara just shut it for now if it's sunny and hot by you! LOL!

Tammie...I am terrible about date night! I am such a home body...especially in winter! I am working on this. It is ANOTHER thing I need to change in 2009!
